Yang Yun stepped forward

Li Wei nodded. "Hmm."

Yang Yun smiled. "Look, they're arguing already. She looks quite unwilling to let go."

Li Wei didn't respond.

Yang Yun continued, "How long have you been broken up?"

"Over a month."

"Why did you break up?"

Li Wei paused for a moment.

"She thought I had no future and no money."

A strange expression appeared on Yang Yun's face.

"So she went with that guy driving the Audi?"

Li Wei nodded.

Yang Yun smiled.

"She must be regretting it so much right now."

Li Wei took a sip of tea.

"Whether she regrets it or not has nothing to do with me."

Yang Yun looked at him.

"You really don't care?"

Li Wei put down his teacup.

"Really. Being with you, I've realized my standards have gotten higher."

Yang Yun stared at him for a few seconds.

Then she smiled, her eyes curving into crescents.

"That's good."

She picked up her chopsticks.

"Let's keep eating. Don't let her ruin your mood."

Li Wei nodded.

The two continued eating.

But Wang Ting's gaze kept drifting over from her table.

Li Wei noticed, but ignored it.

Half an hour later.

The food was mostly finished.

Yang Yun put down her chopsticks.

"I'm full."

Li Wei also put down his chopsticks.

"I'll go pay the bill."

Yang Yun shook her head.

"I said it, I'm treating today."

Just as Li Wei was about to say something, Yang Yun had already called over the Waiter.

"Check, please."

The Waiter brought the bill.

"Miss, the total is 5,680 yuan."

Yang Yun took out her credit card.

Swiped it.

Entered the PIN.

The transaction was successful.

The Waiter printed the receipt.

"Miss, here is your receipt."

Yang Yun took the receipt and stood up.

"Let's go."

Li Wei also stood up.

The two walked out.

As they passed Wang Ting's table, Wang Ting suddenly stood up.

"Li Wei."

Li Wei stopped and turned his head.

Wang Ting bit her lip.

"I... can we talk?"

Li Wei looked at her.

"Talk about what?"

Wang Ting paused.

"It's just..."

She glanced at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu's face was livid.

Wang Ting took a deep breath.

"I want to sincerely apologize to you, and then..."

Li Wei waved his hand to interrupt, smiling.

"No need."

Wang Ting was stunned.

Li Wei turned and left.

Yang Yun followed behind him.

Walking to the door, Yang Yun suddenly stopped and turned back, looking at Wang Ting.

"Oh right, as his current girlfriend, I'd like to let you know something..."

Wang Ting looked at her.

Yang Yun smiled.

"Yesterday he gave me a 1.28 million yuan necklace. I didn't want it at first, but he insisted on giving it to me. Oh my, he's just so overbearing."

Wang Ting froze completely.

1.28 million?

A necklace?

Her mind went blank.

Yang Yun turned and left.

Her high heels clicked crisply on the floor, the sound fading into the distance.

Wang Ting stood where she was, her hands clenched tight.

Chen Yu's face looked even worse.

He remembered how he had been showing off his Audi A6 earlier.

500,000.

But compared to a 1.28 million necklace? It wasn't even in the same league.

Wang Ting sat back down.

She picked up her phone, opened wechat, and found Li Wei's profile picture.

She stared at it for a long time, but finally put the phone down.

She suddenly felt like crying.

Li Wei and Yang Yun walked out of the restaurant.

The night breeze blew over, carrying a bit of chill.

Yang Yun stretched.

"Refreshing."

Li Wei looked at her.

The strap of her black camisole dress had slipped down a little, revealing her fair shoulder.

Yang Yun noticed.

She pulled the strap up and shot him a reproachful look.

"What are you looking at?"

Li Wei looked away.

"Tch, I've already touched it, aren't I allowed to look?"

Yang Yun laughed.

"By the way, your ex-girlfriend's expression just now was really funny."

Li Wei didn't respond.

Yang Yun continued, "A 1.28 million necklace, she's probably never seen one in her life."

Li Wei turned his head.

"Were you doing that on purpose?"

Yang Yun shrugged.

"A little."

Li Wei laughed.

"I didn't expect you to be so kind-hearted and have such a heroic spirit."

Yang Yun raised an eyebrow.

"That's right, I just can't stand how she acts."

She paused.

"If you've broken up, then break up. Trying to keep a connection like that, isn't she just asking for a slap?"

Li Wei didn't speak.

Yang Yun adjusted her skirt.

"Right, take me back."

Li Wei nodded.

"Alright, let's go."

The two walked toward the parking lot.

The sound of Yang Yun's high heels clicking on the ground was crisp.

Li Wei walked beside her.

"By the way, where did you park?"

Li Wei pointed ahead.

"In the underground garage."

The two went downstairs.

They were the only ones in the elevator.

Yang Yun leaned against the elevator wall.

"Today was quite interesting."

Li Wei looked at her.

"What was interesting about it?"

Yang Yun laughed.

"Your ex-girlfriend's expression—I could laugh about it for a year."

Li Wei didn't respond, but glanced at her legs.

He muttered to himself, "I could play with these legs for a year too."

The elevator reached the first basement level.

The doors opened.

The two walked out.

Li Wei pressed his car key.

Ten meters away, the lights of the mercedes-benz s65 flashed twice.

Yang Yun walked over.

"Although it's not my first time riding in it, I have to say, this car of yours is really nice."

Li Wei opened the passenger door.

"If it's nice, then ride in it more often. Princess, please get in."

Yang Yun smiled demurely and quickly sat inside.

The hem of her black camisole dress slid up a bit, revealing a large portion of her thigh wrapped in black silk.

Li Wei pulled his gaze away.

He closed the door, walked around to the driver's side, and sat in.

He started the engine, and the low roar echoed through the garage.

Yang Yun fastened her seatbelt.

"Are you really not planning on telling me what's been going on with you lately?"

Li Wei shifted gears.

"There's nothing to tell."

Yang Yun stared at him.

"When we were drinking before, you clearly said you were unemployed and had debts to pay. Now you're driving a three-million-yuan car and giving away a million-plus necklace. You're making me very curious."

Li Wei stepped on the gas.

The car pulled smoothly out of the parking spot.

"Even if you're curious, I'm not telling you."

Yang Yun leaned back in her seat.

"Stingy. Fine, if you don't want to say it, I don't want to hear it anyway!"

She picked up her phone and started scrolling through her wechat moments.

The car drove out of the underground garage and onto the road.

The night in Guangzhou-Shenzhen was brightly lit.

Li Wei focused on driving.

Yang Yun suddenly spoke up.

"By the way, what's your ex-girlfriend's name?"

Li Wei paused.

"Wang Ting."

Yang Yun nodded.

"The name is ordinary, and she looks even more ordinary."

Li Wei didn't respond.

Yang Yun continued, "The guy next to her, he's driving an Audi A6, right?"

Li Wei nodded.

"How did you know!"

Yang Yun laughed.

"That sushi restaurant has a private parking lot, and there was only one Audi that looked decent, so I guessed."

She paused.

"An A6, a 500,000 yuan car—in her eyes, that must count as pretty good. It's a pity she doesn't know that the car you're driving now is worth six times as much as his."

Li Wei turned his head.

"Are you very concerned about this?"

Yang Yun shrugged.

"Not concerned, just find it quite dramatic, like something out of a novel or TV show."

Li Wei looked away.

"What kind of novel or TV show?"

Yang Yun put down her phone and rolled her eyes at him.

"Think about it. She broke up with you back then because you had no money, and then a month later, she finds out you're much richer than her current boyfriend. Isn't that very dramatic?"

Li Wei didn't speak.

Yang Yun continued, "And as a woman myself, I bet she's regretting it to death right now."

Li Wei still didn't respond.

Yang Yun looked at him.

"You're really not feeling satisfied at all?"

Li Wei turned his head.

"What's there to be satisfied about?"

Yang Yun laughed.

"The face-slapping! Isn't it supposed to be satisfying at a time like this?"

Li Wei shook his head.

"I don't feel anything."

Yang Yun stared at him for a few seconds.

"You're quite free-spirited."

Li Wei looked back ahead.

"It's all in the past. You have to look forward. Look, don't I have a high-quality woman like you by my side now?"
