1: Global Doomsday Game

"Global Doomsday Game" "All Players" "A Hundred Years Later" "Safe Zone" "Rebuilding Human Civilization" "Players Who Control the Extraordinary" "Gray Citizens, White Citizens" "081 District Slum" "Gray Sun and Black Moon" "Overdue Rent" "Tang Ping"

A tingling sensation ran through Tang Ping's consciousness, and countless unfamiliar memories instantly exploded in his mind.

He felt as if he had experienced another life, a bizarre and strange one.

His consciousness gradually returned to his body, and he became aware of his surroundings.

So cold, where is this, why is it so cold?

Tang Ping felt like he had a dream, a dream where he had drifted in darkness for a very, very long time.

Opening his eyes, he saw a few cold drops of water falling onto his face.

So cold!

The bone-chilling water made Tang Ping shiver all over, and he abruptly woke up, as if startled from a nightmare. He gasped for air, not knowing what had happened.

"Where is this? Why am I here?" Tang Ping looked around in shock. This was definitely not the rental room he lived in.

Although the conditions of his rental room were very poor, they were definitely not this bad.

The surrounding walls were covered with mold, winding cracks tore through the plaster, revealing coarse sand underneath, water seeped from the cement ceiling, the mattress beneath him was stiff, covered in solidified black and red grime.

The entire room was incredibly small, only six square meters, and besides a door, there wasn't even a window.

But this tiny room was filled with cluttered items: old iron cans, rusty rebar, torn cloth, broken ropes, a mishmash piled up in the corners.

Apart from these 雜物, there was only a 0.6-meter-wide bed and a half-square-meter damaged table.

The whole room reeked of decay and sour odors.

"How did I end up here?" Tang Ping was bewildered, his brows furrowed. He remembered that he had left work early due to some matters and should now be lying in his twenty-square-meter rental room.

Suddenly, that unfamiliar memory surged back like a tide.

Countless pieces of information flooded Tang Ping's mind, his head felt like it was exploding with pain. He clutched his head tightly, his muscles spasming, constantly breaking out in cold sweat!

After an unknown amount of time, Tang Ping gasped for air, finally managing to regain control of his body. However, those unfamiliar memories and a century of history left Tang Ping's eyes dazed.

He sat on the narrow bed, breathing heavily, his eyes filled with disbelief and an inability to accept.

A sharp pain in his stomach finally brought Tang Ping back to his senses. He needed to eat, otherwise he would truly starve to death.

The intense hunger made him almost frantic. At this moment, the young man in the room could no longer focus on the fact of his transmigration. He frantically searched, hoping to find even a tiny bit of food.

Nothing, there was nothing. This small, dark room, apart from a pile of trash, couldn't even yield a crumb of steamed bun.

He was going to starve to death.

Tang Ping slumped to the ground in discouragement. At this point, he still couldn't accept the fact of his transmigration, because his situation was truly too terrible.

"Am I going to starve to death?" Tang Ping let out a bitter laugh. In the era he lived in, starving to death was an inconceivable thing, but now, it was practically commonplace.

He learned from the original owner's memories that he only lived in the worst part of District 081, the outermost area of the Safe Zone, and even within District 081, it was the worst slum.

And the original owner's identity was even that of a Gray Citizen for generations.

The so-called Gray Citizen refers to those who cannot obtain a system panel. Because they lack a system panel, these people don't even have the worst F-rank Talent, making them the lowest class of people.

Clearly, the original owner was such a person. At sixteen, he didn't receive a system panel or awaken a Talent, so he could only become a lowly Gray Citizen, even risking his life daily just for a meal.

"Am I going to die?" Tang Ping sighed. This was even worse than being a beast of burden. He didn't understand why the heavens would play such a joke on him. Wasn't it just because he was made a scapegoat by his boss and complained about his beast-like life? Was it necessary to make such a grand joke out of it?

The broken alarm clock, without even a casing, still ticked away.

Time slowly approached midnight.

Tang Ping's consciousness was blurry; he had no strength left at this point.

Bang bang bang!

Suddenly, there was a violent knocking at the door!

"Tang Ping! You're three days late on rent. If you don't pay up, pack your things and get out today!"

Bang bang bang!

"Tang Ping! Did you hear me?! Don't think you can avoid paying rent by just closing the door!"

A string of curses sounded from outside, followed by the clinking of a bunch of keys.

Click! The rusty door opened, revealing a woman covered in fat, with a face even fiercer than a man's, and three scars on her face, as if from a wild beast's claws.

"Tang Ping!"

Tang Ping opened his eyes. He knew this woman was the landlady of the building he lived in. Everyone, regardless of gender or age, called her Fat Tiger Mom.

Fat Tiger Mom, though also a Gray Citizen, lived a more comfortable life than ninety-nine percent of Gray Citizens, which was evident from her plump figure.

It seemed he would soon be thrown out and die outside. He wondered if he would become a hungry ghost after he died.

Fat Tiger Mom's eyes immediately showed disgust: "So you're dying. Just don't die in my house. I have plenty of Gray Citizens who want to rent this place!"

Those hands, full of grease and with grime under the fingernails, reached out towards Tang Ping.

The alarm clock's hand suddenly made a crisp tick, reaching twelve o'clock.

12:00

Suddenly, Tang Ping felt his consciousness being pulled by something, abruptly detaching from his body!

His vision suddenly brightened. Clean sunlight filled the room, and the unfinished instant noodles on the table gave off an enticing aroma.

Tang Ping looked at the instant noodles in front of him in surprise, then turned his head and saw the bright, clean sunlight outside the window. His twenty-square-meter rental room, though not large, was clean and tidy, clear and bright.

The wind outside the window blew the curtains, carrying the aroma of instant noodles directly into his nose.

He had never felt his life was so wonderful.

"Did I just have a dream?" Tang Ping wondered.

But very quickly, he realized that it was definitely not a dream!

Because in his mind, there was clearly another person, eighteen years of complete memories!

This could absolutely not be explained by a dream.

Tang Ping's face showed surprise and doubt. The scene just now was so real, he even clearly remembered the feeling of his stomach cramping and aching from hunger.

"Am I back a hundred years ago?"

"Or is it another world!"

Tang Ping quickly stood up and picked up his phone, which was charging by the bed.

He wanted to see what month and day it was.

If he wanted to prove whether he and that world a hundred years later were in the same world, he just needed to wait!

"January 1, 2030!"

Tang Ping's breathing became rapid. If, if he was in the world a hundred years ago, then tonight at eight o'clock, the Doomsday Game for all humanity would descend!
