357: Chapter 357 Baiyang City

Tang Ping naturally knew what he had cultivated himself. He carefully parted the wheat at the edge, searching for something, and soon discovered pale yellow crystals in the field.

"What is this?" The short-legged man, Zhang Zhiqiang, also picked up a grain.

"Secretions from the Golden Star Ladybugs. Dissolve it and smear it on your body and you'll be fine; these Gu insects will treat you as one of their own. As long as you don't bleed, you won't be attacked."

"Isn't that just poop?" Zhang Zhiqiang's face paled in shock.

"Smear it or don't!"

The bald, fierce woman had already started, picking up a handful and using supernatural power to dissolve it before smearing it on herself.

The four of them were not far from the armored man. The commotion here caught his attention, but by the time he wanted to come over, the four had already slipped into the wheat field.

The four moved close to the ground. Seeing the scene beneath the wheat, the short-legged man's scalp tingled; the wheat stalks were covered in dense, rice-grain-sized ladybugs.

"There are so many insects down here. No wonder those people didn't get far before being picked clean. Even a cow wouldn't be enough to feed them!"

The one-armed man, Chen Pingtao, suddenly grabbed a handful of the Gu insects, scaring Zhang Zhiqiang out of his wits. "Old Chen, what are you doing!"

"Just grabbing a handful to see if I can take them back to raise. These are Gu insects, after all."

Tang Ping shook his head slightly. "These aren't Mother Gu; they have no reproductive capacity. Moreover, without gold bone wheat to feed on, their power will drop significantly. This handful won't have much impact. To truly form effective power, they need to look like a cloud; at that level, even those below the Heavenly King Rank have to steer clear."

The one-armed man, Chen Pingtao, chuckled. "Grabbing a handful to raise for fun is fine too. I can show them off to others later."

The four continued their stealthy advance. Just as they were about to exit, Tang Ping stopped, moved a few steps to the left, and pulled up a stalk of gold bone wheat that looked no different from the others.

"Brother Tang Ping, I thought you looked down on this wheat." The short-legged man already had a ring of wheat ears tucked into his waist.

"Taking it back as a souvenir." In fact, the stalk in his hand was the Mother Wheat; the seeds on it could be planted, but he didn't tell them this. After all, they weren't close acquaintances.

Beyond the wheat field, there were surprisingly no other dangers, but rather a massive stone gate. Many people were sitting in the plaza where the stone gate stood—the captain of Jiang Lion's convoy, the Xiao Family, and even other factions had arrived surprisingly quickly.

When he saw that gate, Tang Ping's expression immediately turned solemn because the gate actually possessed power from another world.

If such a gate were placed inside Little Six's Shelter, Tang Ping had a good idea why the Shelter had been lost.

Tang Ping looked hesitant, but he soon made a decision and looked back at the few people behind him.

"It's very dangerous here. After this, I'm afraid even Level Five Talent Users will be nothing more than fodder. I'm planning to leave first. I'm telling you before I go, but whether you leave or not is for you to decide."

His goal was to first digest the legacy he had left for himself and then steadily raise his dual talents to the Heavenly King Rank; he naturally didn't want to risk his life on the matter at hand.

"Level Fives are just fodder!" The short-legged man, Zhang Zhiqiang, swallowed hard. "Brother Tang Ping, are you sure you're not joking?"

"I'll give you a small hint. This ruin actually belonged to a veteran-level Half-Heavenly King of Star Glory." After Tang Ping finished speaking, he turned to leave. Hitching a ride with the water convoy was out of the question; he would have to travel on his own from now on.

When Zhang Zhiqiang heard this, his whole body shuddered! Star Glory! Veteran-level! Half-Heavenly King! His face turned green instantly.

"Brother Tang Ping, I'm coming with you!"

It had to be said that Zhang Zhiqiang's trio had some sense; upon hearing this, they didn't stop for a moment, other than plucking some gold bone wheat along the way.

Emerging from the ruins, Tang Ping looked back at the great gate with some regret. He was truly curious about which world lay behind this World Gate of the Xingyao Safe Zone.

However, curiosity killed the cat. It wouldn't be too late to return once he reached Heavenly King. As a dual S-rank Heavenly King, he could basically walk unchallenged unless a Titled expert appeared.

"Brother Tang Ping, where do you plan to go next?" The short-legged man, Zhang Zhiqiang, watched a giant Illusory Beast fly overhead with a face full of lingering fear. It was hard to imagine what kind of people would be coming here later! There was definitely a big secret behind that stone gate; otherwise, what sane person would build a gate like that inside a Shelter?

"I plan to continue north, to the foot of the North Ridge."

"To the vicinity of the Forbidden Zone? Then you must be careful, brother; it's dangerous there. However, Peach Blossom Village is quite safe, but we won't be accompanying you. Having obtained this gold bone wheat, we plan to head back and exchange it for some cultivation resources. When you return, you must call us to your station for a drink!"

"I will."

Tang Ping headed north alone, preparing to find the legacy he had left behind.

Eight months later.

Thousands of miles from the North Ridge, the largest city in the northernmost part of the Star Territory: Baiyang City.

Baiyang City was named because it was built around a level seven Holy Spirit Poplar Tree and was filled with its offspring.

The tree was divided into four cycles, and the city experienced four seasonal solar terms.

The poplar tree cycled every three years, and it was currently the third cycle. Therefore, Baiyang City was now in the Beginning of Autumn solar term, with the city full of yellow leaves.

"Finally in my hands." Tang Ping was travel-worn; he had now retrieved his legacy from the foot of the North Ridge and planned to digest it here in Baiyang City.
