97: Three Gu Insects

Two days passed in a flash. Tang Ping had already arrived in Han County yesterday, but due to a sudden downpour, he did not go out in the afternoon.

The heavy rain was immense, as if a hole had opened in the sky.

Even the dust that had lingered for ten days disappeared, leaving only strong winds mixed with torrential rain.

The indistinct buildings, swaying in the heavy rain, seemed to be on the verge of collapsing.

Tang Ping remembered this heavy rain, the first heavy rain after the apocalypse. It rained for a full day and night. The rain was so heavy it wasn't like rain, but like a waterfall.

It even caused some areas to turn into large lakes overnight.

Rivers also swelled, and even riverbeds that had been dry for a hundred years began to flow again.

Similarly, it was on this night that many places began to become somewhat mysterious.

A mysterious substance began to erupt. Humans could not absorb these substances; if they tried to forcibly absorb them, they would only become Infected.

Normal animals and plants, after absorbing it, would also undergo bizarre and strange changes.

And the world, too, began to slowly transform because of this.

It was just the beginning, and it wasn't very obvious yet.

But similarly, there were always some wild animals with extraordinary Talents who, by this, leaped over the Dragon Gate, taking the lead in evolution and becoming powerful Pollution Beasts.

Tang Ping's Shelter was not set up underground today. In fact, with his current strength, there was basically no need for it. After all, just relying on the Great Emperor Moth was enough to deal with ninety-nine percent of problems, and he didn't need to do it himself.

So, since the rain started yesterday, Tang Ping had set up his Shelter, a two-story building, on the rooftop of an apartment building in a residential area.

The view here was very open, but even with the heavy rain, he couldn't see what was in the distance.

Tang Ping sat by the French window, casually twisted open a bottle of yogurt, and looked out the window in the direction of North Ridge.

North Ridge, a hundred years after the apocalypse, was the closest forbidden zone to the Xingyao Safe Zone, which is Jiangcheng City.

Humans don't know how large the forbidden zone became after a hundred years, how many types of Pollution Beasts, contaminated plants, and how many Beast Kings it contains.

After all, even the Wasteland hasn't been fully explored.

Perhaps those powerful Heavenly King-level, Poison Empress-level, and even stronger titled powerhouses might have some understanding of the forbidden zones.

But, it would definitely not be much.

A hundred years later, a titled powerhouse once rode a Void Worm, the ultimate evolution of the Earth Worm, through the thick gray fog and into space, discovering that the Earth, where the horizon could originally be seen, was now boundless and endless.

Even within the gray fog, and even in space, there were quite a few Pollution Beasts living and wandering among the gray fog and meteorites.

Humanity's understanding of the world seemed to have suddenly returned to ancient times.

"The North Ridge now is far from dangerous," Tang Ping murmured.

After finishing the yogurt in his hand, Tang Ping opened a mini-game.

His body flashed, and he arrived in the Gu Worm room of the Five Poisons Nest; he had entered in person.

Of the thirty-two Gu Worm cultivation tanks, only four still contained life.

"Four Gu Worms, that's not bad."

One Red Heart Ant Gu Worm. The Gu Worm was a three-centimeter-long crimson ant.

The ant's body shimmered with a gemstone-like fire, as if carved from a ruby, but if one were to be deceived by its beautiful appearance, they would surely die a terrible death.

The game log automatically generated a detailed introduction to the Gu Worm, so he didn't need to figure it out bit by bit.

The Red Heart Ant Gu's favorite method is to burrow through the skin and flesh of a creature into its heart, then latch onto the inner wall of the heart and release a potent venom. The venom spreads throughout the body with the blood, initially causing torment like being roasted by fire, driving the victim mad with pain.

Then, pustules appear all over the body, and finally, the entire body, inside and out, ulcerates, leading to a gruesome death.

This process depends on the amount of venom released. The less venom released, the longer the painful process and the slower the death.

If a lot of venom is released, death will occur completely within a short period, turning the victim into a puddle of pus.

Although it is only a level one Gu Worm, its insidious and vicious nature makes one shiver.

The second Gu Worm was a Ghost Spider Gu, cultivated with a Level Three potent poison, the Black Widow!

Although its poison was good, the worm itself was rather weak, so it was only a second level Gu Worm.

Its body shape was very similar to a Black Widow, but its eight legs were very slender and long. The eight legs, like spider silk, were folded, so normally, the spider legs didn't look abnormal because they were folded up.

When fully extended, they could easily wrap around a person's head.

The purpose of this Gu Worm was to attach to the target's head in this way, its tiny body perfectly concealed within the person's hair.

Its effect would cause the target to become mentally deranged, producing hallucinations and mistaking friend for foe. If the target's mental strength was too weak, such as an ordinary person, they would be directly controlled.

Although it had no offensive power, Tang Ping was very satisfied with this Gu Worm, as it could be used to gather information in the future.

The third Gu Worm was one formed from a Golden Ring Hornet.

The Golden Ring Wasp Gu Worm, a second level Gu Worm, had a poisonous stinger growing from its tail. Unlike the single-use stinger of an ordinary bee, this Gu Worm's stinger could continuously grow.

The purpose of this Gu Worm was to release its poisonous stinger at the target. Once struck by the stinger, the target would experience intense hallucinations, feeling enveloped by various venomous insects, while simultaneously experiencing a strong sense of paralysis, rendering them unable to move. However, the pain of being bitten by venomous insects in the hallucination could be clearly transmitted to the brain!

Even though the body suffered no actual harm, it would endure the agony of ten thousand ants gnawing at the heart and bones.

It was even more insidious and vicious than the Red Heart Ant Gu.

The last one was also the most miraculous!

A far superior level four Gu Worm!

The Gu Worm that Tang Ping had cultivated with a pile of saddleback caterpillars had instead become a level four Gu Worm!

The Gu Worm was currently still in its pupa state and not fully formed. Tang Ping temporarily didn't know its function.

But just by its level four Gu Worm status, he knew it wasn't simple, and Tang Ping was still very much looking forward to it.

He completed the final step of blood-binding the three already mature Gu Worms.

Subsequently, the three Gu Worms were released by Tang Ping.

The three Gu Worms crawled onto Tang Ping's body, obediently finding a spot to hide.

After binding, there was a mental connection, so even if the Gu Worms' levels were too low and their intelligence not high enough to understand complex commands or communicate, simple commands were still possible.

What made Tang Ping's face darken was that the Red Heart Ant Gu actually tried to crawl into his small intestine through his butt crack!

Infuriated, he immediately grabbed the Red Heart Ant Gu and severely reprimanded it. In the end, the wronged Red Heart Ant Gu could only be forcibly ordered to stay on his wrist.

The Ghost Spider Gu, however, honestly hid in his hair.

The Golden Ring Wasp Gu Worm, on the other hand, hid in his collar.

At this moment, Tang Ping finally understood why the Poison Empress had such a fearsome reputation, causing even powerhouses of the same Heavenly King and Poison Empress level to pale at the mention of her name.

Now he had three Gu Worms. Not to mention decades later, even ten or eight years from now, wouldn't he become a walking insect nest!

With a single command, various strange and exotic Gu Worms would all swarm out.

The visible and invisible, the tangible and intangible, just thinking about it made one's scalp tingle.

"I wonder how these Gu Worms can be upgraded," Tang Ping pondered for a moment, then realized it was best to let nature take its course, because he found that he really knew nothing about Gu Worms.
