288: This base is really good.

On the mountaintop, there was an area specifically for Talent Users to live. Although not luxurious, it consisted of clean one-bedroom, one-living-room apartments. The twelve-story, earthy-yellow building was constructed by a Level Three B-rank Talent Holder within the Survivor Base.

Of course, there were also two-bedroom, one-living-room, and three-bedroom, two-living-room options, but the monthly contribution points required would multiply accordingly.

Tang Ping, being alone, casually chose a one-bedroom, one-living-room apartment and paid two hundred contribution points for a month. For ordinary people in the Survivor Base, this was an extremely high price, but for Talent Users, it was acceptable, as long as he went out hunting for a few extra days each month.

The interior of the apartment was surprisingly clean and tidy, completely unlike the earthy-yellow exterior. Instead, it had clean white walls, and even the floor was made of pure white rock. Inside the room, there was not only running water but also hot water, and even electricity. Pulling back the curtains, although there was no bright sunlight, the sea of clouds outside was unobstructed. Through the sea of clouds, one could even see the sparse, ant-like figures on the ground in the distance.

The only pity was that the clouds were light gray.

Besides that, the room was fully equipped with a sofa, bed, table and chairs, kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. It must be said that the superhumans of the Yunfeng Survivor Base lived very comfortably.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Excuse me, sir, are you in?"

"Who?" Tang Ping came to open the door.

It was a girl in a maid's uniform, looking no older than twenty, an ordinary person.

"Sir, downstairs there is a buffet specifically for superhuman adults. If you need anything, you can go downstairs."

"Alright, I understand."

"Sir, I apologize for disturbing you." The girl stared at Tang Ping for a moment, a hint of disappointment in her eyes, before turning and leaving.

With the door closed, Tang Ping was not immediately busy acquiring bloodline for the Great Emperor Moth today. Instead, he wanted to explore the Survivor Base outside.

It was lunchtime, and many Talent Users and their families gathered downstairs to eat. Compared to the sweet potatoes ordinary people ate, the food here was undoubtedly much richer.

Tang Ping was somewhat surprised. There was an abundance of various steamed, fried, and stir-fried dishes, fresh fruits, and clean chicken, duck, fish, and meat. However, the prices were also high.

A simple tomato and egg dish cost 5 contribution points, a white flour bun cost one contribution point, fresh fruits were even more expensive, and braised pork cost 20 contribution points. Even ordinary Talent Users would probably find it hard to afford.

"No wonder so many Talent Users want to come to Yunfeng Survivor Base. Here, Talent Users who possess superhuman strength have extremely high status, and their quality of life is completely on par with pre-apocalypse times. Compared to the precarious life outside, it is indeed much more comfortable here."

Tang Ping was a man worth hundreds of thousands, so he naturally didn't mind spending. He ordered a vegetable salad, chicken stew with potatoes, sweet and sour pork ribs, a fried chicken leg, and a 2-contribution-point serving of rice. The food tasted very good; clearly, the cook had excellent skills.

"Hey, brother, eating so well, aren't you going to live tomorrow?"

A meal costing over seventy contribution points, indeed, was like not living tomorrow.

Sitting opposite Tang Ping was a man with two fingers missing, dressed simply and cleanly. He was a level two Talent User, but his Talent was probably not high, perhaps E-rank or D-rank.

The man with missing fingers looked envious: "Brother, this meal of yours must be sixty or seventy contribution points, right! Are you planning to enjoy yourself for a month and then not live next month?"

"Seventy-two contribution points, not expensive." Tang Ping smiled. He had casually condensed a Mystic Light of Flora and exchanged it for one hundred thousand contribution points, so wasn't it not expensive?

The man with missing fingers looked as if he didn't believe him: "Brother, this isn't expensive? At this rate of eating, even if you eat a little less for breakfast and dinner, it would still be almost three thousand contribution points a month. With our strength, even if we risk our lives hunting for twenty days a month, we'd only earn that much. Aren't you planning to save money to buy experience stones?"

"Endure some hardship now, and when you reach Level Three later, you'll have endless blessings to enjoy. You can't just waste these contribution points."

The man with missing fingers held out his left hand: "See? These fingers of mine were bitten off by a Pollution Beast. If I had been Level Three back then, it wouldn't have been that beast biting off my two fingers, but me poking it to death with my two fingers! We should still prioritize strength right now!"

Tang Ping smiled: "Occasionally having a good meal and enjoying life is important, otherwise, you never know when it might all be gone."

The man with missing fingers was speechless, sighing: "That's true. Those ordinary people envy us Talent Users for possessing superhuman strength, but only we ourselves know what a joke it is in the outside world. A Pollution Beast could pop out any day and eat you up."

Although he said this, the man with missing fingers simply ate his three servings of rice and a portion of pickled radish, with no intention of having a good meal.

Tang Ping's gaze shifted, and he suddenly wanted to ask something. He leaned over and whispered, "Brother, do all new Talent Users in the Survivor Base mysteriously lose their Shelter?"

The man with missing fingers was so startled that he spat out his rice, choking and coughing repeatedly. He quickly drank a few sips of water to calm himself, then secretly looked around and said in a hushed voice, "Brother, don't talk nonsense about this in the future. Say less of things that are not conducive to unity!"

Suddenly, the man with missing fingers' brows twitched: "Brother, you're new here, aren't you?" Without waiting for Tang Ping's reply, he continued, "If your Shelter hasn't been lost yet, while you still have it and can use the trading zone, put your Shelter up for sale immediately! Remember, don't just put it up, sell it directly! It's best to exchange it for experience stones to directly improve your strength! You must complete this tonight! Sell it even at a low price, it's better than losing it."

After saying all this, the man with missing fingers buried his head in his food and dared not say anything else.

Tang Ping thought to himself, it was indeed the Survivor Base doing this. They intended to completely turn these Talent Users into their beasts of burden. As for how they managed to steal the Shelters, it probably involved Talents like mental manipulation or illusion.

Moreover, the level must be very high, and the quality of the Talent was probably also very high, at least A-rank.

"So they're coming tonight." Tang Ping shoveled the rice into his mouth.

On the second floor, in a private room, two people stood by the window, looking at someone's position in the dining hall.

A young man in a crisp white suit was toying with a glass bottle in his hand.

"Leader, this is what that person traded. What do you think about tonight?" the Cloud Hall manager said fawningly.

"Be careful. Just make him spill the information. He's a level two Talent User after all, we can't let him die for nothing. The Survivor Base's future development still needs these people to contribute."

"Yes, yes, Leader is benevolent." The Cloud Hall manager nodded and bowed.

Downstairs, Tang Ping finished his meal and left, his gaze casually sweeping over the private room he had just seen. Then he exited the building. Since that was the case, he wouldn't be polite either.

Admiring this unique Survivor Base, Tang Ping became more and more satisfied.

"This Survivor Base is quite good."
