351: Arrangements for departure
"Boss, do you have any potions to treat mental injuries?"
Three people covered in blood, two men and one woman, walked in from outside. One of the thin men had a pale face and was being supported by the other two.
"I do have potions for mental treatment, but they won't do your brother any good for his injuries." Tang Ping glanced at them and immediately knew the general condition of the thin man. The S-rank Talent, Ice Nightmare Extreme Pupil, was not for show.
"How can that be? My brother was just hit by a Screaming Worm's roar. Ordinary mental potions can cure it, how can it not work? Are you refusing to sell?" The one-armed man immediately became enraged.
"Screaming Worms can certainly be cured, but Howling Worms are beyond saving. Of course, if you want to buy, I'm happy to sell. After all, what businessman would refuse a deal?" Tang Ping said indifferently.
When she heard 'Howling Worms,' the woman beside him instantly turned pale, and the last shred of hope in her eyes vanished.
"Sure enough, sure enough, I knew it couldn't be a Screaming Worm."
The one-armed man looked at the dejected, sword-carrying woman and realized that this young boss might not be wrong: "Sister Ying, do you know something?"
"Screaming Worms damage the mind, while Howling Worms damage the soul. They look similar, but…" The sword-carrying woman's body trembled slightly, and she tightened her grip on the thin man's hand. "But there's one difference: around a Howling Worm's nest, there are usually no small insects."
"When I went in, I noticed something was wrong, but we were eager to pick that soon-to-mature Black Soul Flower, so I didn't think much of it. Who knew, who knew that the Screaming Worms inside were already Howling Worms!"
"How, how could this be!" The one-armed man staggered after hearing this, his eyes filled with grief. Soul injuries and mental injuries were worlds apart. The latter could be treated with some money, but for the former, even if they lost everything, they wouldn't be able to gather enough money to buy the most ordinary soul potion!
Looking at his dazed brother, the one-armed man's eyes filled with regret: "It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so eager to pick that Black Soul Flower, Brother You Lang wouldn't have been ambushed by a Howling Worm."
"It's too late to say anything now."
"All three of you are at second level peak strength, right?"
At this moment, Tang Ping suddenly spoke.
"What is it?" The one-armed man subconsciously asked.
"I have a way to cure your brother, but there's a price."
"You have a way to cure You Lang!" The sword-carrying woman's eyes lit up, but then she looked at Tang Ping warily. "First, tell us the price."
"You should all know something about the cost of treating soul damage. To be blunt, even if you sold all three of yourselves, you wouldn't be able to raise that much money."
The sword-carrying woman pursed her lips. She knew he wasn't wrong.
The treatment for soul damage was simply not something second level Wasteland Hunters like them could afford.
"Tell us, no matter what the condition, I agree, as long as my brother can return to normal!" The one-armed man's gaze was firm.
"It's simple." Tang Ping took out the contract from under the counter.
"Sign these three contracts, and the three of you will guard this outpost for me for ten years."
The sword-carrying woman was stunned, not because the price was high, but because it was much smaller than she had expected. She had originally thought he would make some excessive demands, or even make them sign a lifetime indenture.
Unexpectedly, it was just ten years?
"What, you don't agree?"
"Do you really have a way to cure him?" Now it was the sword-carrying woman's turn to doubt his ability.
"I can treat you first. Of course, if you go back on your word after I cure him..." Tang Ping smiled. "Then perhaps you'll never step out of this outpost again."
"Okay, we agree!"
"Leave him to me. You two wait outside."
Tang Ping helped the thin man into a room in the back.
"Soul damage, fortunately, it's just a slight tremor. If it were shattered, I wouldn't be able to do anything." Tang Ping murmured a few words, then his eyes glowed with an eerie blue light.
The strange talent power rippled through space like water, entering You Lang's mind.
The soul, which had been dazed by the tremor, gradually stabilized under this power.
Half an hour later, Tang Ping walked out, looking a bit tired.
"How is he? Where's my brother?"
The one-armed man eagerly stepped forward to ask.
"He's in the back." Tang Ping pointed, then tapped the three contracts on the table. "Hurry up and sign these. I still need to upload them to the Star Network later."
No sooner had he finished speaking than You Lang walked out of the back room. His steps were still a bit unsteady, but it was clear that he had regained consciousness!
"You Lang! You're really better!" The one-armed man exclaimed in surprise, slapping him on the shoulder.
"Stop, stop! If you keep hitting me, you'll send me straight to the afterlife!" You Lang almost fell to the ground.
"Hehe, I'm just excited. I can't believe you're actually better."
The sword-carrying woman's eyes also showed excitement, and she looked at Tang Ping with wonder.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me, just sign the contract."
"Okay!"
The three of them didn't hesitate and immediately signed the contracts.
They were then uploaded to the Star Network. The contracts themselves had no inherent binding force, but with the Star Network in the Xingyao Safe Zone, and the powerful backing of the Xingyao Safe Zone, they possessed strong enforceability. No one dared to easily violate these contracts.
Even powerful noble families and other clans used contracts endorsed by the Star Network for their transactions.
With three people signed, Tang Ping could prepare for his departure with greater peace of mind.
Although the three people in front of him only had E-rank Talent, they had, after all, been Wasteland Hunters for over ten years in the Wasteland, and all possessed second level peak combat strength. They were sufficient to temporarily guard this small outpost.
Tang Ping's gaze fell on the thin man: "Are you a Wood-element Talent?"
"Yes, Wood-element E-rank Talent, Poisonous Thorns." You Lang was surprised; he hadn't filled in his talent information on the contract just now.
"second level peak is still a bit too weak. I can help you break through to Level Three."
You Lang suddenly looked up, his eyes filled with confusion and astonishment: "Level, Level Three?"
"Why?"
An E-rank Talent, without special opportunities or family/faction support, would typically reach second level at most in this lifetime.
Tang Ping took out another contract: "A lifelong contract. Sign it, and I can make you Level Three."
You Lang hesitated almost not at all.
"You're quite decisive." Tang Ping uploaded it to the Star Network. "Come with me again. You two, please guard outside for me first. Oh, and we're closed today, so close the door."
In a sealed stone room, a drop of emerald-like liquid appeared on Tang Ping's fingertip. The liquid emitted a hazy glow, like a small lantern, enveloping the almost imperceptible drop of water.
"I don't need to teach you what to do next, right?"
