1: Chapter 1 Warhammer 40K
[Welcome to warhammer 40k]
[In ten minutes, a global announcement will begin.]
A mechanical voice transmitted into Xia Xingchen's mind.
"Where is this?"
Xia Xingchen woke up from his coma; as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a blue screen.
The blue screen reflected a handsome man with sharp, elegant features, a high bridge on his nose, and deep black eyes like a cold pool.
Is this me?
Wait a second.
No, this isn't a screen.
Xia Xingchen soon discovered that he was actually trapped inside a Human capsule.
Xia Xingchen immediately began to struggle, wanting to break free.
The Human capsule detected the host's awakening, and the hatch slowly opened automatically.
Xia Xingchen rushed out abruptly and fell heavily to the ground.
It wasn't that Xia Xingchen didn't want to stand up, but a sense of powerlessness and weakness surged through his entire body.
Xia Xingchen slumped on the ground like a pile of mud, his limbs completely unresponsive, as if he had been asleep for a long time.
Xia Xingchen struggled a couple more times but found it useless, so he could only stop for the time being and quietly wait for his limbs to regain sensation.
Why am I here?
Xia Xingchen pondered, full of confusion.
His memories of Earth had become blurred; he only remembered being an ordinary person, going to school, living, and finally graduating normally.
What happened after that?
It seemed like the Blue Planet exploded—was that memory correct?
His recollections ended. Xia Xingchen tried to move his body and found that besides being barely able to speak, the rest of him was still numb and stiff.
"Is anyone there? Can someone come save me?"
Xia Xingchen helplessly uttered a faint cry for help in this deathly silent darkness.
Xia Xingchen's voice echoed in the empty space, stirring up a faint reverberation.
No response.
Just as Xia Xingchen was about to lie there for a while longer, an ethereal yet mechanical voice suddenly rang out.
"Nuwa, at your service."
Xia Xingchen hadn't had time to react yet.
In the next second, the lights in the entire space suddenly flicked on.
The intense light stung his eyes, forcing him to close them instantly; eyes that had been in darkness for so long could not adapt for a moment.
As Xia Xingchen slowly adapted to the light and opened his eyes, he looked around and found himself in a luxuriously decorated lounge.
Then he saw a pale blue transparent phantom floating in front of him at some unknown time.
So beautiful.
At first glance, Xia Xingchen was shocked by the appearance of this figure.
A face as if carved by the gods, flawless white skin, and a pure white bodysuit outlining perfect curves.
But Xia Xingchen soon snapped out of his awe; the discomfort in his body wouldn't allow him to be distracted.
"Nuwa, can you help me to a place where I can rest properly?" Xia Xingchen spoke up quickly, not wanting to lie on the cold floor for another second.
Hearing this, Nuwa immediately took control of the entire ship and issued commands.
Soon, a Floating medical chair started up under Nuwa's command and slowly approached Xia Xingchen.
Before Xia Xingchen could react, the medical chair released a tractor magnetic force, gently lifting him onto the seat.
As soon as he was settled, tentacles as thin as optical fibers immediately attached to Xia Xingchen's body, using weak electrotherapy to stimulate his muscles and help him regain sensation.
"I have chosen the most conservative treatment for you. No medication will be used, so it will take about an hour for your body to recover," Nuwa explained calmly.
Xia Xingchen didn't mind at all:
"It doesn't matter. I have nothing else to do anyway."
After hearing this, Nuwa walked to Xia Xingchen's side like a caring nurse, extending her hand to guide him like a butler.
"Master, please follow me."
Xia Xingchen froze on the spot: "Master?"
Just then, a series of cold mechanical voices flooded directly into his mind:
[All hosts confirmed. Officially opening the Warhammer World Chat System.]
[The global population of 10 billion has been fully teleported to the Warhammer World. Transmigrators older than 40 or younger than 18 will have their ages randomly adjusted to between 18 and 40.]
[Time adjustment and memory blurring have been activated to ensure everyone possesses an independent and complete worldview.]
[It is an honor to welcome you all to the Warhammer World. Your sole objective—stay alive.]
[As an initial benefit, everyone will receive a random warship and a piece of mysterious technology.]
[There is no such thing as a free lunch. All your expenses are covered by the Emperor and the Four Gods. In return, you must pay back your loans.]
Of course, defecting to other factions and having them repay the loans on your behalf is also an option.]
[Repayment methods include, but are not limited to, conquest, sacrifice, serving various factions, etc. More methods await your exploration.]
[Finally, I wish you all smooth sailing in the Warhammer World. May the Emperor and the Four Gods protect you.]
[The world chat channel and personal chat channel have been opened. Please communicate freely.]
[Final reminder: The costs for your transmigration to the Warhammer World and for obtaining your warships and special technologies have been charged to your accounts. Please remember to repay on time!]
The voice in his mind vanished completely.
Xia Xingchen's brain stalled instantly, and he didn't snap out of it for a long time.
Was this a joke? What kind of ghost system was this?
All 10 billion people on Earth were thrown directly into the hell that is Warhammer?
As a "Cloud Hammer" fan, Xia Xingchen knew this world all too well.
It was said online that if you knew you were going to transmigrate to Warhammer, you should just "restart" the first second you landed.
Endless war, inevitable suffering, and eternally anchored death were the essence of this world.
Even the Emperor of Mankind was nailed to the Golden Toilet (crossed out) Throne, painfully maintaining the entire Imperium of Man.
Xia Xingchen clicked on the chat channel, which had already exploded.
[Help! No one can save me.]
[What's going on? I want to go home! Can we change worlds? If not, even a 2D anime world would be fine!]
[Move aside, my urine is yellow; let me wake this guy up.]
[What is Warhammer? Can someone explain the setting?]
[Brother, you only need to remember one thing: this place is a cesspool. Being alive is worse than being dead.]
[I beg to differ; death is not the end. Even when you're dead, you still have to keep working!]
[Shut up! Is anyone going to say something useful? I'm being besieged by a bunch of greenskins, and my civilian ship is about to give out!]
[Safe travels.]
[Fuck!!!]
"Master, what are you worried about?"
"Your emotions have fluctuated violently. Has something affected you?"
Nuwa's voice rang softly in his ear.
"If there is anything troubling you, please allow me to resolve it for you."
Xia Xingchen suddenly snapped back to reality:
"It's nothing, nothing. I just thought of some things. Let's go to the warship's bridge first."
Xia Xingchen sat in the captain's chair in the bridge and immediately ordered:
"Nuwa, execute the resuscitation protocol and wake up all crew members on the ship."
"By the way, Nuwa, can you give me an introduction to the specifics of this warship beneath my feet?"
"Understood, Master." Nuwa immediately opened an optical screen in front of him.
[Unknown Battleship]
[Length: Thirty kilometers]
[Rated Personnel: 150,000]
Xia Xingchen glanced down a few times. The rest was filled with dense, detailed data, so he lost interest in looking closely and shut off the screen.
From the looks of it, Xia Xingchen's starting position definitely belonged to the top tier.
Regardless, the scale of my warship is comparable to a Gloriana-class battleship in warhammer 40k.
By now, Xia Xingchen's limbs had gradually regained sensation.
He reckoned that after another ten minutes or so of rest, he would be able to move like a normal person.
Just then, Xia Xingchen looked at the world chat channel again. The channel was still in total chaos, with messages roughly divided into three categories:
One was desperate cries for help;
Another was people searching for friends and family;
And the last was people shouting, "Long live the Emperor."
Not a single piece of useful information.
Xia Xingchen turned to check his system account.
What is this?
Xia Xingchen stared at the account numbers with terrified eyes, his pupils dilating suddenly, unable to believe the value before him.
"Lord Emperor, are you sure you didn't give me the wrong number?"
