34: Chapter 34 God Emperor Cult, Burning Cult

Xia Xingchen was full of doubts. What exactly did the Emperor want by sending Saint Sabbat to his side?

"I... I..."

Xia Xingchen pondered, wanting to refuse.

Because Xia Xingchen always felt that Saint Sabbat was more like someone the Emperor sent to monitor him.

That's not right. He hadn't done anything out of line in this life, so why would the Emperor pay so much attention to him?

Could it be that the Emperor could really see the future?

Saint Sabbat naturally saw through Xia Xingchen's thoughts, knowing he wanted to refuse, and spoke directly:

"You cannot refuse me."

Damn it, is this a forced sale?

Xia Xingchen was completely helpless now.

Xia Xingchen looked into Saint Sabbat's eyes and knew that Saint Sabbat was definitely not joking.

"Alright."

Xia Xingchen seemed to agree, but in reality, he had no room to refuse.

Xia Xingchen composed himself, behaving like a polite gentleman, and extended his hand, seemingly to shake Saint Sabbat's hand.

In this less-than-perfect transaction, Xia Xingchen officially accepted Saint Sabbat.

Saint Sabbat put on the blue and white power armor at her side.

Xia Xingchen now looked behind Saint Sabbat.

He felt as if a pair of wings had appeared behind Saint Sabbat.

Is it my imagination?

Xia Xingchen felt a doubt in his heart.

Xia Xingchen and Saint Sabbat left the small wooden house together and returned to the others.

Xia Xingchen introduced the young girl in power armor beside him to the accompanying Nuwa.

"She is Saint Sabbat, one of the Living Saints of the Imperium of Man."

Upon hearing this, Nuwa immediately showed hostility towards Saint Sabbat.

"My lord, get behind me!"

The surrounding soldiers saw this and immediately raised their rifles, aiming at Saint Sabbat.

"Wait, everyone, wait!" Xia Xingchen immediately stopped everyone.

"Tell them to put down their guns! She's not an enemy, she's not an enemy!"

Hearing Xia Xingchen shout loudly, everyone finally lowered their attacking stances.

Xia Xingchen quickly apologized to Saint Sabbat, then hurried to introduce Nuwa to Saint Sabbat to prevent further deepening of the misunderstanding between them.

"This is Nuwa, the chief Tech-Priest on my warship."

Saint Sabbat looked at Nuwa, then nodded slightly to her.

Nuwa still maintained her guard against Saint Sabbat.

After all, Saint Sabbat was from the Imperium, and an Imperial Living Saint at that.

Anyone familiar with warhammer 40k knows that Living Saints are all famously loyal to the Emperor.

In the end, it was out of respect for Xia Xingchen that the two boarded the transport ship together and returned to the dream star.

Back on the warship, Xia Xingchen introduced Saint Sabbat to the others, mainly Leovitos's Iron Heart Society and the ship's crew initially assigned by the system.

Among them, two were the most important.

One was the warship captain, Zheng Hai.

The other was Hua Ke, the chief scientist of the Research Institute, whom Xia Xingchen had appointed first.

In the ship's combat command room, Captain Zheng Hai was reporting the situation of Lanshan Planet to Xia Xingchen.

"According to our probe's feedback, there are three continents on this planet, located in the south and north respectively.

The Southern Hemisphere has two continents, one large and one small, but only the Northern Continent has a population. Their technological level is basically in the medieval stage, and their social organizational structure is also very strange."

Xia Xingchen immediately became interested upon hearing this.

"What is their organizational structure like?"

"Simply put, almost everyone here is religious. Some believe in the Imperial Cult, while others believe in the Cult of Burning, whose god is called the Burning God."

Xia Xingchen's heart sank when he heard this.

Wait a minute, could it be that one worships the Emperor and the other worships Khorne?

"Given that this planet's civilization is still in the medieval stage.

We can directly dispatch troops to forcibly conquer them. Both the Imperial Cult and the Cult of Burning will turn to ashes under our iron and flames."

After Zheng Hai finished speaking, Xia Xingchen could clearly feel Saint Sabbat behind him showing a hint of displeasure.

Isn't that obvious?

You're about to move against the Emperor's followers!

If any aggressive Living Saint were here.

The next second, they would directly cut down Captain Zheng Hai.

Zheng Hai's intention was to directly dispatch troops to forcibly conquer this planet.

But Xia Xingchen certainly couldn't agree with this plan.

Otherwise, Saint Sabbat would very likely turn against Xia Xingchen on the spot.

This was something Xia Xingchen absolutely could not accept.

"I think we can try to make contact with them first, especially the Imperial Cult. I think they should be easy to communicate with."

Xia Xingchen was now completely speaking against his true feelings, just making things up.

It was nothing more than to curry favor with Saint Sabbat and, incidentally, pray that the Emperor would not personally possess Saint Sabbat.

Xia Xingchen's biggest worry was that if he ever got involved with Chaos.

The Emperor would directly use Saint Sabbat's body to fight him.

How many seconds would he live?

Therefore, Xia Xingchen was now absolutely loyal.

"Let's take the initiative to contact and talk with the people of the Imperial Cult first, and see if we can control them through peaceful transition."

Xia Xingchen's words, both directly and indirectly, were biased towards the Imperial Cult.

And Xia Xingchen received his reward; he could clearly feel that Saint Sabbat's displeasure behind him had dissipated significantly.

"What about the Cult of Burning? Do we need to send envoys there?"

Xia Xingchen turned his gaze to Saint Sabbat, who neither voiced opposition nor showed any emotional fluctuations.

"Try to make contact with them too. If they show any hostility towards us, then directly flatten the Cult of Burning with force."

Xia Xingchen was not in the mood to play any childish games with them.

Nearly three months had passed, but Xia Xingchen's account only had ten million points.

This was accumulated from fighting Chaos, Eldar pirates, Orks, and human pirates along the way.

Xia Xingchen knew very well that he must quickly establish his stronghold and mine resources.

"Prepare to depart tomorrow."

The time flow here is basically consistent with Terra, only a few seconds faster than Terra.

It's night now, time to rest.

Xia Xingchen returned to the rest room, removed his power armor, showered, and sat on the edge of the bed.

At this point, Xia Xingchen finally had time to calm down and ponder a very serious question: do we have the ability to deal with psychic threats?

Psykers are an extremely terrifying force.

In the Imperium, powerful Psykers can truly hold the sun and moon in their hands and pluck stars from the sky.

The Emperor once forcibly compressed a star with his psychic power, directly extinguishing it.

Mommas the Whisperer, a mysterious psychic entity, could control individuals across an entire sector, silently influencing everyone within a sector-wide range.

Xia Xingchen is currently facing a problem:

Are we Psykers? Do we have psychic talent? If we do, then everyone will be a ticking time bomb.

Of course, Xia Xingchen still held a negative view of this idea.

Friends familiar with warhammer 40k understand that humans in the Dark Age of Technology discovered the Warp, but there were hardly any Psykers in human society at that time. Instead, it was only after a long period of Warp travel that Navigator families emerged, and various powerful Psykers appeared.

All of this was caused by humans traveling in the Warp for long periods and being exposed to the Warp for extended durations.

There were also special cases, such as the shamans and priests of ancient primitive tribes, who for some unknown reason could utilize the Warp.

Simply put, the longer a species spends in the Warp, the more pronounced its psychic talent will be in individual members of that species.

So, if the T'au could really live for tens of thousands of years, their psychic talent would probably be not much different from humans.
