138: Chapter 138 Pure Love God of War

Jiang Feng clicked to accept the video call.

The screen split into two.

On the left was a half-body shot of Jiang Feng leaning against a high-speed rail seat, with the scenery outside the window flying past behind him.

The video call popped up on the right.

A young man in his early twenties appeared on the screen.

This guy was wearing a dark blue suit with gold buttons on the cuffs.

His bowtie was tied perfectly; he must have spent at least twenty minutes in front of the mirror tying it.

He had used half a bottle of hair gel, and every single hair was plastered in the same direction, reflecting light like a mirror.

But that wasn't the point.

The point was that he was holding a huge bouquet of red roses in his arms.

The bouquet was ridiculously large, at least ninety-nine roses or more, and the petals covered half his face.

The background behind him was the lobby of a movie theater.

A poster for a romance movie hung at the entrance, and the pink lights shining on his suit made him look ridiculously tacky.

"Streamer! Hello, Streamer!"

The young man sounded excited and waved at the camera.

"My name is A Wei! I want to ask about my love life!"

The chat instantly became lively.

"With this setup, is he proposing?"

"Ninety-nine roses, that must have cost several hundred, right?"

"Suit and roses, the Pure Love War God is on the march!"

Jiang Feng looked at the energetic young man on the screen, reached into his canvas bag, pulled out a thermos, unscrewed the lid, and took a sip.

"Alright, tell me the situation."

A Wei cleared his throat, his expression as serious as if he were giving an inaugural address.

"Streamer, it's like this. I like a girl, I've liked her for three years!"

He held up three fingers and poked them at the camera lens.

"Three years! Three whole years! Rain or shine!"

"Every morning at six-thirty, I get up to buy her soy milk and fried dough sticks, and deliver them to the downstairs of her company."

"If she works overtime until twelve, I wait downstairs until twelve."

"When she said she wanted that limited-edition bag, I saved up half a year's salary to buy it for her!"

A Wei got more excited as he spoke, raising the roses a bit higher.

"Today! She finally agreed to watch a movie with me!"

His voice echoed in the movie theater lobby.

"Streamer, help me calculate, what time is best to confess today? I want to pick the most auspicious hour!"

The style of the chat changed instantly.

"Three years? Delivering breakfast every day?"

"Why do I smell a simp?"

"Saving half a year's salary for a bag? Brother, wake up!"

"Don't say anything else, my knees have already knelt down for him."

Jiang Feng put down the thermos.

He stared at A Wei's face on the screen, scanning from the hairline all the way down.

The interpretation ability granted by the system operated automatically during the task, and the signs on A Wei's face that were invisible to ordinary people were no different from a neon sign in Jiang Feng's eyes.

On both sides of his temples, the complexion had collapsed, gray and dull, as if someone had scrubbed it hard with an eraser.

Below the cheekbones, it looked even worse; a dark, greenish tint seeped out from the bone crevices, uneven in color, like a receipt with the word "sucker" written all over it.

Jiang Feng screwed the lid back onto the thermos.

He had already read the story of this face.

"A Wei."

"Yes! Streamer, go ahead!"

"Regarding your face, I'll point out the main points."

Jiang Feng pointed his finger at the area near his own temples.

"This area is called the husband and wife palace in physiognomy. To see how deep the relationship with an object is, or whether two people are compatible, you look at this. Your husband and wife palace has collapsed, and the color is gray."

"In other words, everything you've poured into this relationship is entirely one-sided."

A Wei's smile froze.

Jiang Feng pointed below his cheekbones again.

"This area is called the servant palace. For normal people, the complexion here is even, but yours is dark and greenish. This is a typical physiognomy of someone who is being used but still counts the money for others."

"A Wei, that goddess of yours doesn't look at you at all."

"Today's performance..."

Jiang Feng slowed his speaking speed by half a beat.

"You're just a backup."

In the movie theater, A Wei's arm holding the roses slowly lowered.

The petals brushed against his suit lapel, and two fell to the ground.

It was quiet for less than two seconds.

A Wei exploded on the spot.

"You're talking nonsense!"

He roared at the camera, the veins on his neck bulging.

"Do you know what true love is? You're just a street-side fortune teller setting up a stall on a high-speed train! You probably don't even have a girlfriend!"

The chat was amused.

"The Pure Love War God is enraged!"

"Streamer got scolded, hahaha."

"Wait, what he said seems to make sense. Not confirming the relationship for three years, isn't this just..."

A Wei didn't even look at the chat and continued to vent at the camera.

"I deliver breakfast to her every day! Three years without missing a day! I go even when it's windy or raining!"

"Last time it was her birthday, I gave her a bag! That bag was five thousand eight hundred! Five thousand eight hundred, do you know that? My monthly salary is only six thousand!"

"She accepted it! She accepted my bag! She even said thank you!"

"How can you say she doesn't look at me?"

"You liar! Shut your crow's mouth!"

Jiang Feng didn't interrupt him at all.

When A Wei finally caught his breath, Jiang Feng spoke slowly.

"A Wei, do you have movie tickets in your hand?"

A Wei was stunned.

"Yeah, so what?"

"How many?"

A Wei hesitated for a moment.

"...Three."

The chat area was quiet for 0.5 seconds, then went collectively crazy.

"Three???"

"Buying three tickets for two people to watch a movie?"

"Who is the third one for?"

A Wei hurriedly explained.

"She said she was afraid it would be awkward for two people to watch a movie, so she asked her cousin to come and liven up the atmosphere! Her cousin is a nice guy! He even helped us pay the bill last time we ate!"

"Cousin?"

Jiang Feng repeated these two words, enunciating each word very clearly.

The chat was completely out of control.

"Cousin alert! Cousin alert!"

"It's over, it's over, I can already predict the ending."

A Wei was flushed red by the chat, his mouth opened twice but he couldn't say anything.

Jiang Feng leaned back in his chair.

A Wei was there proving his innocence with all his might, but Jiang Feng's attention had shifted away from his face.

In the video call, the movie theater lobby behind A Wei was brightly lit.

The picture wasn't big, but Jiang Feng's eyes were better than most people's.

In the small patch of background to the right of A Wei's head, there were two human figures standing very close to each other next to the ticket machine.

Too close to be normal.

"A Wei."

"Huh?"

"Turn your camera."

Jiang Feng used his finger to draw a semi-circle to the right.

"Yes, turn it behind you, towards the ticket machine."

A Wei was full of doubt, but still slowly turned the phone camera.

The picture moved.

The LED light strips of the movie theater lobby, the popcorn counter, a few passersby queuing up.

The camera swept past the ticket machine.

Two people were standing next to it.

Very close.

The woman was wearing a floral dress, with one hand wrapped around the man's waist.

The man was bowing his head, his forehead pressed against the woman's forehead.

The camera was still moving, and the picture shook.

When the picture stabilized, 120,000 people saw it clearly.

Those two faces were pressed together.

Mouth to mouth.

They were kissing.

In the live broadcast room, 120,000 pairs of eyes saw this scene at the same time.

"Holy crap!!!!!!"

"Cousin! It really is the cousin!"

"A Wei is dead, you chose this, Streamer."

"I'm crying, not for A Wei, but laughing until I cry."

A Wei stared at the picture on his phone screen.

His expression shattered inch by inch.

The roses in his hand swayed twice.

Ninety-nine red roses slid from his arm and fell to the floor.

The petals burst open, scattering all over the ground.

The chat and gift effects in the live broadcast room smeared the screen, but no one cared about those colorful things.

Everyone was waiting for A Wei's reaction.

A Wei's camera tilted.

The picture swayed back and forth between the ceiling and the floor.

After several seconds, he turned the phone back to face himself.

His face appeared on the screen.

His eye sockets were flushed red, and the muscles on both sides of his nose were twitching constantly.

His lips were pressed into a line, and his chin was tightened until it was about to cramp.

He opened his mouth twice, but didn't make a sound the first time.

The second time, he squeezed out a distorted smile.

That smile was uglier than crying.

Then, A Wei spoke.

"That... Streamer."

"You got it wrong."
