35: Chapter 35 New Mission: This time, I need to reason with a dog.

Seeing that the Wealthy Lady was about to faint from fright, Jiang Feng gave Old Chen, who was beside him, a look.

Old Chen held back his laughter, turned around, and nodded at Jiang Feng.

"Well... Ma'am, you go ahead and get busy. I have to go buy food for our boss."

Jiang Feng said goodbye in a simple, honest tone, grabbed Old Chen, and walked quickly into the Japanese restaurant.

As soon as they entered, Jiang Feng straightened his back, and the simple, honest look on his face vanished.

"Holding it in must have been tough, right?" Jiang Feng asked.

Old Chen's back was still shaking, and he squeezed two words through his teeth: "No."

"Let's go, my treat today. The most expensive kind."

One week later.

The lawn at Guanhu Residence was neatly trimmed.

Jiang Feng lay on a lounge chair, wearing sunglasses, covered by a thin blanket, with a glass of iced cola on the low table beside him.

Not far away, Old Chen was shirtless, using an entrenching shovel to grunt and dig a large pit in the corner of the yard.

The Wealthy Lady had been thoroughly frightened that day, and the very next day, she had someone deliver a truckload of gifts, claiming it was to help her new neighbors calm their nerves.

Jiang Feng didn't accept them, but the rumor that the "hard-fated boss wanted to dig a pit in the yard to bury bad luck" spread nonetheless.

Now, in the Longhu Mountain Villa homeowners' group chat, everyone was discussing the "evil-warding maniac" at Villa No. 8.

Jiang Feng took a sip of his cola.

"Old Chen," he called out.

Old Chen stopped what he was doing.

"Tell me, if I had a physique like yours, would I still need to tell fortunes?" Jiang Feng began, "I'd just go rob... never mind, I'm a law-abiding citizen."

Old Chen walked over, carrying the entrenching shovel, and stood straight. "Boss, your body can't handle strenuous exercise."

Jiang Feng pouted.

This past week had been the most comfortable time he'd ever had.

No missions, no torture from illness.

He slept until he woke up naturally every day, was urged by Old Chen to take a half-hour walk in the yard, and then curled up on the sofa to watch movies or sunbathe on the lawn.

The numbers in his bank account allowed him to experience the joy of being a "useless person."

But he knew deep down that this peace was rented.

The life he had extended was not a permanent property.

Although the oppressive feeling in his brain that caused him pain had disappeared, there were still occasional sharp stabs of pain, reminding him that he didn't have much time left.

He raised his hand to block the sunlight.

Just as he was dozing off, a buzzing sound of electricity shot through his brain.

Jiang Feng sat up straight on the lounge chair instantly. He took off his sunglasses and rubbed his temples.

What had to come, had come.

【New Mission Issued】

【Location】: "Pet Love Forever" High-end Pet Hospital in the city center

【Time】: Daily 14:00-16:00

【Method】: Empathy/Qi Reading (Pet Edition)

【Field】: Pet Worries/Difficult and Complicated Cases

【Goal】: Receive three "fur baby" parents and solve their problems.

Jiang Feng stared at the virtual text appearing in the air, silent for a long time.

Empathy? Qi Reading? Pet Edition?

What kind of strange code got mixed into this system update?

"Boss, what's wrong?" Old Chen sensed something was off.

Jiang Feng waved his hand.

"Old Chen, go look up the Pet Love Forever Pet Hospital."

Old Chen took out his phone and tapped the screen a few times.

"Boss, I found it," he reported, "It's the most expensive chain pet hospital in the city, positioned as the United Family of the pet world. A routine check-up package starts at 8,888. Even the registration fee is 500."

After listening, Jiang Feng leaned back on the lounge chair.

He understood; the system thought he had been making money too easily lately and was starting to increase the difficulty.

Before, it was dealing with people; now he had to deal with animals... no, deal with "fur babies."

This job required a high level of skill.

Jiang Feng pinched his chin and started calculating.

Going to a place like that, his little stool setup definitely wouldn't work.

People who could spend nearly ten thousand to give their cats and dogs a check-up believed in science, professionalism, and authority.

They wouldn't believe in a fortune teller wearing a windbreaker and sitting on a little stool; they would only think he was a performance artist or mentally ill.

"Old Chen." Jiang Feng had an idea.

"Yes."

"Go get me an outfit." Jiang Feng extended his finger and began giving instructions.

"First, a well-fitting white lab coat, good quality, not the kind that's been washed yellow in the hospital."

"Second, a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, non-prescription, with the lenses polished clean."

"Third," Jiang Feng paused, "go to a print shop and have them make me an ID card, the kind with lamination and a lanyard."

"For the title, write: Internationally Certified Animal Behavior Psychology Expert."

"Below the name, add a line of small text: Honorary Visiting Professor at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine."

Old Chen listened and paused for a moment.

"Boss, should the Cornell University school emblem be color-printed or black and white?"

Jiang Feng gave him a thumbs up.

"Color-printed, make it look real."

1:50 PM.

That black lexus lm from the South City Auto Park was parked in front of the coffee shop opposite the Pet Love Forever Pet Hospital.

Inside the car, Jiang Feng had already changed into his full equipment.

A brand-new white lab coat, gold-rimmed glasses, and a fake expert ID hanging on his chest. He adjusted his collar in the vanity mirror in the back seat.

"Boss, your aura makes you look even more like a director than the director at our military hospital." Old Chen looked at him through the rearview mirror and commented sincerely.

Jiang Feng didn't speak, looking out the car window.

The entrance of the pet hospital was full of luxury cars.

A Wealthy Lady wearing fur was holding a white Teddy dog in a cast, wiping away tears, while a butler held an umbrella beside her.

A trendy-looking young man was struggling to pull a husky, cursing under his breath.

A girl carrying a cat carrier was pacing at the entrance with an anxious look, constantly checking her phone.

Those who could come here were either rich or noble, and their situations were quite serious.

It wasn't the pets that were sick; it was the owners who were sick.

"Boss, how are we doing this?" Old Chen asked.

"No street stall." Jiang Feng replied.

The little stool setup didn't fit the environment here; it was too cheap. He needed to play something more high-class.

"Open the trunk." Jiang Feng ordered.

Old Chen complied. The trunk of the lexus lm was very spacious.

Jiang Feng directed Old Chen to take a few unopened cashmere blankets from the car and spread them out in the trunk.

He also rummaged through the storage compartment to find a few packs of pet snacks and some teething toys, arranging them on the blankets.

Finally, he took out a small whiteboard framed in a picture frame and stood it up on one side of the trunk.

On the whiteboard was handwritten calligraphy: 【Pet Whisperer, solving your master's heart disease.】

Below that was a line of small text: 【Only ten minutes per chat, fees based on fate.】

After finishing all this, Jiang Feng nodded.

He straightened his white lab coat and got out of the car. He didn't sit down, but instead leaned against the back of the car with his arms crossed over his chest, watching the anxious people at the hospital entrance.

An expert in a white lab coat and gold-rimmed glasses, leaning against a luxury car worth over two million, with a prepared trunk behind him.

This wasn't called setting up a fortune-telling stall. This was called a "Mobile Behavioral Consulting Studio."

His novel approach quickly attracted the pet owners queuing at the hospital entrance.

They first looked at him with curiosity, then began to whisper and discuss.

"Who is that guy? Is he a new doctor? Why is he diagnosing people behind his car?"

"Look at his car, a lexus lm, top of the line, right? Doctors are this rich?"

"Pet Whisperer? What is that? Sounds pretty high-class."

Just as everyone was discussing, a gorgeously dressed lady, leading a white poodle wearing a pink princess dress, was the first to walk over.

The smell of perfume on her was very strong.

She looked Jiang Feng up and down, scanning back and forth between the ID on his chest and the luxury car behind him several times, curling her lips with a touch of disdain.

She had seen this kind of packaging many times; it was nothing more than trying to scam money from wealthy ladies like them.

She stopped in front of Jiang Feng, lifted her chin, and spoke in a tone full of suspicion.

"Animal psychology expert?" Her voice was somewhat sharp.

"My Bella has been barking in the middle of the night lately and has even chewed up several of my Hermès bags."

"The doctors at the hospital have checked it several times and said it has no physical illness and all its indicators are very good."

As she spoke, she tugged on the leash in her hand, and the poodle named "Bella" barked impatiently twice.

"You," she pointed at Jiang Feng with her red-painted fingernails, "if you're really capable, then show me, what is it actually thinking?"

Jiang Feng pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose.

He looked past the woman at the dog wearing the princess dress.

System vision activated.

Above the dog's head, it wasn't the simple aura of a normal animal, but a tangled pink ball of energy.

In that energy ball, there were also mixed in a few strands of black energy representing jealousy and anger.
