36: Chapter 36 Your dog's secret is that he thinks you're too noisy.

Immediately after, a series of sharp, chaotic sound waves rushed directly into his mind.

Click, click, click—the high-frequency noise of high heels striking the marble floor.

Clatter, clatter—the sound of mahjong tiles being forcefully shuffled and clashing.

"Hello? Is that Mrs. Li? We're one short, hurry over!" came the sound of a woman speaking in a shrill voice on the phone.

There was also the booming of bass-heavy music, along with the high-decibel laughter and chatter of men and women mixed together.

These sounds overlapped and magnified in his mind.

The system panel unfolded above Bella's head.

【Target: Bella (Poodle)】

【Emotional State: Irritated (S-Rank), Sleep Deprived (A-Rank), Territorial Anxiety (B-Rank)】

Jiang Feng ended his observation.

This dog didn't have a psychological disorder; it was being tortured by its owner to the point of a nervous breakdown.

"Ma'am," Jiang Feng crouched down, moving slowly to avoid startling the already tense dog.

He reached out his hand, not to pet her directly, but pausing in mid-air.

Bella hesitantly extended her nose, sniffed his fingertips, and then nudged him with her head.

"It's not dissatisfied," Jiang Feng's tone was flat, "it thinks you're too noisy."

The Wealthy Lady's expression froze.

"Noisy? How am I noisy? My voice has always been gentle and soft."

She raised her voice, which perfectly confirmed Jiang Feng's assessment.

Several pet owners watching the spectacle let out low chuckles.

"To you, it might be gentle and soft," Jiang Feng stood up and brushed off his white lab coat, "but to it, it's noise pollution."

Jiang Feng pointed to Bella's ears.

"Canine hearing is much more sensitive than human hearing; they can hear many sounds that we ignore. When you walk around the house in high heels, that sound is a constant pounding for it."

"Every afternoon you host mahjong games, the sound of shuffling and playing tiles is deafening noise to it."

"And also," Jiang Feng's gaze landed on the watch on the Wealthy Lady's wrist, "you like to throw parties at home after nine in the evening. That bass-heavy music and the noisy chatter of people will damage its hearing."

With every word Jiang Feng spoke, the Wealthy Lady's face grew uglier.

She was indeed a mahjong enthusiast and often hosted parties for friends at home.

These were all part of her social life; how did they become animal abuse in this young man's mouth?

"Nonsense! I prepared such a comfortable bed for it; if it's tired, can't it just go to sleep on its own!" the Wealthy Lady protested.

"It tells me," Jiang Feng began to 'translate', "that it needs long periods of deep sleep every day to recover its energy, but it simply cannot fall asleep."

"Its bed is right next to the living room; when you play mahjong, it can smell the smoke. When you throw parties, there are always drunk guests who want to hold it and tease it."

Jiang Feng looked at the Wealthy Lady, "It is not your child; it is your social prop."

This sentence made the Wealthy Lady's lips tremble, and she couldn't speak.

The discussions around them grew louder.

"My god, that was spot on, wasn't it? Last time I went to Mrs. Wang's house, I actually saw them playing mahjong until midnight."

"So it was noise pollution, oh no, it was dog-disturbing."

"This expert is something else; this isn't treating a patient, this is giving the owner a lesson!"

The Wealthy Lady's face turned alternately red and white, and the stares of the people around her made her feel extremely uncomfortable.

"Then... then what about it biting my bag?" she asked, unwilling to give up, "It couldn't be that my bag is too noisy too, right?"

"It bites your bag not because it hates you," Jiang Feng's tone remained unchanged, "but because your bag has the scent of other dogs from the outside on it."

The Wealthy Lady's expression froze.

Jiang Feng didn't pause and continued.

"It especially hates that brown Birkin bag of yours."

As soon as these words were spoken, the Wealthy Lady's body jolted.

She had dozens of bags; how could he know which one it was?

"Because yesterday afternoon, you carried that bag and went to your friend Mrs. Sun's house for afternoon tea," Jiang Feng spoke at a measured pace, but every word carried weight. "Mrs. Sun's family keeps a white Samoyed, right?"

The Wealthy Lady froze completely. She opened her mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.

She hadn't told anyone about this!

Yesterday was just a small gathering with close friends; how could this young man know such details?

He even knew which dog she had seen?

This wasn't deduction anymore; this was clairvoyance!

"A dog's jealousy is much stronger than you imagine," Jiang Feng concluded. "It believes its territory has been invaded, and that its owner being tainted with the scent of another dog is a betrayal."

"It doesn't have the ability to attack that Samoyed, so it can only vent its anger on the piece of evidence tainted with the enemy's scent. By biting the bag, it is telling you over and over again—"

Jiang Feng paused and, in a clear voice, stated Bella's inner thoughts:

"In this house, there can only be one cutie, and that's me!"

"Pfft—"

In the crowd, a young girl burst into laughter.

This translation, with its massive contrast, made everyone laugh.

"Hahahaha, so it was just jealousy!"

"The imagery is just too strong! 'In this house, there can only be one cutie, and that's me'—this dog is such a CEO-style character!"

"I'm convinced, I'm totally convinced! It's a waste of talent that this master isn't writing scripts!"

The Wealthy Lady stood there, still holding the leash of the innocent-looking Bella, her mind a mess.

She looked at the little dog by her feet and realized for the first time that she didn't understand it at all.

Jiang Feng ignored her further. He turned around and took a small plastic box from the trunk of the lexus.

He opened the box and pinched out two yellow, elastic objects.

They were two soundproof earplugs.

He walked up to the Wealthy Lady and handed her the pair of earplugs.

"The solution is very simple," Jiang Feng said.

The Wealthy Lady reached out and took them.

"Either you keep quiet at home from now on and live a life of asceticism."

The Wealthy Lady's facial muscles twitched. This was more painful than killing her.

"Or," Jiang Feng pointed to the earplugs in her hand, "when you go home to play mahjong or throw parties, put these on it."

"Oh, right," Jiang Feng added, "these are for humans. You'll have to buy professional noise-canceling earmuffs for dogs online yourself. I've even thought of the keywords for you: pet, noise-canceling, sleep."

The surroundings suddenly went quiet.

Everyone watched this scene with their mouths agape.

A difficult problem that had long troubled pet owners and veterinarians, and the final solution was actually a pair of earplugs?

The Wealthy Lady looked at the small yellow earplugs in her palm, then at the innocent-looking Bella by her feet, and her tense shoulders slumped.

She didn't say anything.

No arguing, no questioning.

She pulled a thick stack of red banknotes from that Hermès wallet that had almost been bitten to ruin by Bella, and without even looking, stuffed them into Jiang Feng's white lab coat pocket.

That thickness was at least ten thousand.

"Thank you," she whispered, then bent down to pick up Bella and walked away quickly without looking back. Her retreating figure looked somewhat flustered, and her steps were unsteady.

【Ding! Valid fortune-telling count: 1/3】

First order, complete.

Jiang Feng took the stack of money out of his pocket, pulled out two bills, and handed the rest to Old Chen nearby.

"Go to that imported supermarket across the street and get one of each of their most expensive cat strips, dog canned food, and freeze-dried snacks," Jiang Feng instructed, "we need to stock up to serve the next customer."

Old Chen nodded, took the money, and turned to leave.

Jiang Feng leaned back against the rear of the car.

The crowd around him didn't disperse; instead, it grew larger.

Everyone looked at him, their faces a mixture of awe and curiosity, all eager to try, but because of what just happened, no one dared to be the first to step forward.

Just at this moment.

"Make way! Please make way!" an urgent voice came from outside the crowd.

A Delivery Rider wearing a blue uniform squeezed through the crowd and ran over, panting.

He wasn't carrying a dog in his arms, but was holding a square cardboard box.

The box was sealed tightly with tape, with only a few air holes poked in the side.

A faint meow came from inside the box.

The Delivery Rider ran up to Jiang Feng, his face flushed red from running too fast, his forehead covered in sweat.

His face was full of panic and helplessness.

He carefully placed the cardboard box on the ground.

He looked up at Jiang Feng, his lips trembling, and it took him a long while to squeeze out a sentence.

"Mas... Master!"

"My cat... my cat is possessed!"

"Can... can you take a look?"
