Today, word spread like wildfire across the Empire about the birth of a pureblood cub to the Tiger clan. The news had everyone buzzing.

Every therian in the Empire was talking about the new Tiger cub.

The sneaky dragons made snarky comments but kept their distance from the mighty Tigers, only grumbling amongst themselves.

The strong, straightforward mermen sent gifts to celebrate.

The easygoing birdmen didn’t think much of another pureblood arrival but enjoyed a few extra bug legs in honor of the event.

The elves, close allies of the Tigers, sent their prized honey as soon as they heard the news.

When Alpha Leonidas and Luna Amethyst learned the pureblood cub was named Arix, they were both amazed and pleased for Cassian’s good luck.

In the Empire, the four pureblood cubs were second only to the royal family in esteem. If Cassian and Arix were to fall for each other, no one would dare oppose their match.

To give their son a chance, Leonidas and Amethyst sent Cassian to the Tiger clan to congratulate them.

They brought a mountain of gifts, but the most significant was Alpha Leonidas’ promise of a wish. Arix could use this wish to claim a ducal rank in the Empire if she wanted.

What would Arix choose? No one knew yet.



The Dragon clan, the Merman clan, the Birdman clan, and the Elves all sent representatives with gifts too. The Tiger clan was more festive than it had ever been.

While they celebrated, things were tense in the Dragon clan’s territory...

Dragon clan leader Ignathor was furious, smashing a teacup to the floor. "An elder was killed on his own land, and after a whole day, you haven’t caught the culprit? What are you good for? How did our clan end up with such useless members?"

Ignathor fumed, glaring at the ten elite members of the clan’s agents kneeling before him.

The leader of the agents spoke with a mix of respect and coldness, "We haven’t caught them, but we know who did it."

"Who is it?" Ignathor’s eyes blazed with rage. Whoever it was, he would make him pay dearly.

"It was the Empire’s top bounty target, the Libertines!" The agent trembled slightly as he said the name.

Even the leader’s reaction showed just how terrifying these space pirates were.

The Libertines, a space pirate group that emerged out of nowhere ten years ago, had a mysterious origin and an unknown base of operations.

After their sudden appearance, they quickly established themselves as the strongest space pirates in the Empire, defeating every rival in their path.

What made the Libertines unique was that they didn’t follow the usual pirate path of bullying the weak or robbing commercial spacecraft. Instead, they exclusively targeted various corrupt forces within the galaxy, amassing their wealth by preying on other criminals.

Their most famous act was successfully dismantling the Empire’s most notorious human trafficking clan.



By removing this blight from the Empire, the Libertines earned a reputation as heroes among many common therian citizens. Even the Empire’s royal family turned a blind eye to their activities afterward.

This made the Libertines a source of admiration for many cadets in the Empire’s military academies, with some eager to join their ranks.

Unfortunately, the Libertines remained too secretive, and no one had ever been known to successfully join them. Even clans hoping to plant spies had given up.

When Ignathor heard it was the Libertines, his anger subsided, and his eyes twitched.

He knew well enough to weigh the consequences of provoking the Libertines.

After considering his options, Ignathor rubbed his forehead and asked, "Do we know the reason?"

"Not clearly, but there was a message left at the scene. It said the ninth elder messed with someone he shouldn’t have..." The leader of the dark unit spoke hesitantly.

Ignathor closed his eyes. He took a deep breath to quell his anger, and then opened his eyes. "This matter ends here. We’ll tell the public that the ninth elder died of a sudden illness."

"Understood." The leader of the dark unit placed his right hand on his chest in a respectful salute, then he led the other elite agents out of the room.

Once alone, Ignathor frowned deeply and muttered, "The ninth elder is dead, and the Tiger clan has a new pureblood cub. Nothing good for us has happened lately..."

On the same day, there was good news on the interstellar net of the Alliance.

The Alliance’s official headline announced the latest news about Arix: the recipient of the Alliance’s highest honor had been rescued a few days ago and was currently recovering. In about a month, Arix would return to Hecaris Military Academy to pick up her studies.



This news caused an immediate uproar both online and offline throughout the Alliance.

People flooded the interstellarnet, sending their well-wishes to Arix. Some beneficiaries of Psychic Healers also posted their thanks under the Alliance’s official announcement.

Students at the Hecaris Military Academy were the happiest of all. Almost everyone there was genuinely overjoyed, as the grief that had been hanging over the academy finally dissipated completely today.

Arix’s friends were especially thrilled, spreading the news to each other excitedly.

At the Koros Military Academy, Zephyr heard the news and continued calmly cleaning his energy gun. However, the slight smile on his lips betrayed his good mood.

At the Snorri Military Academy, Elio, who had been training relentlessly since Arix fell into the black hole, collapsed onto the training ground floor upon hearing that Arix was alive. He kept repeating, "Great, thank god," over and over.

At the Ceres Military Academy, Varden pushed up his glasses, his voice filled with deep longing as he said, "Arix, when will you come back to help me learn potion making?" He sighed and went back to laboring over the mountain of medical ingredients his troublesome grandfather had sent.

At the Mulado Military Academy, Cirilla was sparring with her brother when she heard the news and burst into tears.

Amid her sobs, she murmured through her congested nose, "Welcome back, Arix."

Only then did she notice Adrian staring at her in shock. Her fingers twitched, realizing he was still there.

Wiping her tears, she quickly replaced her expression with a cold, menacing look. Her lips curled into a threatening smile as she asked, "You didn’t see anything, right, Adrian?"

Adrian swallowed hard and shook his head frantically. "N-no, I didn’t see anything!"
