Chapter 53: Daydream Coming True

"Great, you look energetic. Come join the training," Ortiz said with a smile, appearing to be in a good mood.

But Arix couldn’t muster a smile, a bit timid as she tentatively asked, "Sir, shouldn’t you just tell me to go back and rest properly?"

Ortiz gave her a stern look and asked, "Do you think you need that?"

"I..." Arix tried to resist.

Ortiz quickly lost his patience. He turned her around and shouted, "Stop your babbling, or I’ll have you make up the five days of training you owe."

Hearing this, Arix almost stumbled from fright. She felt as if all her tiredness and pain had been scared away. She immediately ran over to join her classmates in the obstacle run.

"Wow!" the students of Hecaris Military Academy initially thought Arix would go back to rest. They didn’t expect such a turnaround, so most of them started to cheer along.

"What are you yelling for, you think you’re gorillas? Do you still want to score or not?" Ortiz barked.

The students instantly quieted down. One by one, they lined up at the starting point of the obstacle course, waiting for Instructor Bauer’s whistle to blow.

"Arix, come over and put on the weight ring," Virtanen said gently.

"Alright," Arix replied, then she walked toward Virtanen. But when she received the weight ring, she noticed it was still of Planet-Class weight.



"Any problems, Arix? Is it too heavy?" Virtanen asked. He saw that Arix hadn’t put it on yet and showed some concern.

In his eyes, Arix was still the fragile freshman who often ended up in the hospital. He hadn’t considered that Arix’s physical power had grown stronger, almost reaching Subgiant Class.

"Sir, I don’t think this weight ring is right for me. I need one that’s 500 kilograms," Arix said earnestly.

Since she was training, Arix wanted to do her best. A Planet-Class weight ring now felt no different to her than wearing nothing at all.

She thought so, but Virtanen still thought he had heard wrong. He asked incredulously, "Are you asking for a Subgiant-Class weight ring? Do you realize what you’re saying?"

"Yes, Subgiant-Class," Arix nodded firmly.

"Let’s stick with the Planet Class for now, we’ll take it slowly," Virtanen suggested.

Of course, Virtanen would feel pleased that his student was ambitious, but not when that student was Arix.

"No, the Planet-Class one isn’t much use to me," Arix flatly refused. She even thought that Virtanen was indeed too gentle. If it had been Ortiz, he would definitely have given her something heavier.

Seeing how firmly Arix refused, Virtanen was at a loss. He quickly turned and cast a pleading look at Ortiz, shouting, "Ortiz, come here for a moment."

Ortiz heard the call, turned around, and looked at Virtanen and Arix, focusing on the weight ring. He thought Arix was complaining it was too heavy, so he quickly walked over with a frown.

"What’s going on?" Ortiz asked, frowning.

"Arix, she..." Virtanen started to explain but was immediately cut off by Ortiz.



Ortiz stared intently at Arix and said, "I’m asking her. Arix, you speak."

He had already silently sworn; if Arix dared to complain that the Planet Class weight ring was too heavy, he, Ortiz, would definitely make sure she would have a "wonderful" memory from today.

Arix, intimidated by Ortiz’s expression, stiffened up but firmly responded, "Sir, the Planet-Class weight ring is too light for me. I need a Subgiant-Class one."

Ortiz looked at Arix in surprise. Then he quickly composed himself and asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, sir! My physical power is already at the peak of Star Class. I just need a bit more pressure to upgrade smoothly," Arix said openly, feeling there was no need to hide her physical power.

Ortiz and Virtanen both tensed up, their pupils shrinking. They looked at each other as if they had seen a devil, both utterly shocked.

Finally, Ortiz recovered first. He looked at Arix with a complex expression for a long while, then said to Virtanen, "Give her the 500 kilograms."

"Okay." Virtanen was still somewhat dazed. His hands automatically took back the weight ring, adjusted it to 500 kilograms, and then handed it to Arix.

Arix, with the adjusted weight ring on, smiled happily and said, "Thank you, I’m off to train."

After Arix left, Bauer also came over. Seeing Ortiz and Virtanen doubting themselves, he asked somewhat puzzled, "What’s with you two? Weren’t you both feeling guilty every day when Arix wasn’t here? How come you don’t seem excited at all now that she’s back?"

Ortiz didn’t speak but pulled out a cigarette from his pocket. He lit it with a lighter, took a melancholic drag, and then said gloomily, "Nothing, just suddenly felt that being Arix’s instructor is like riding a roller coaster. It’s thrilling."

"???" Bauer was so confused. He felt that Ortiz seemed to have gone out of his mind.

Then he turned to Virtanen and asked, "Is Ortiz alright?"



"He’s fine. I think the problem is with me. I think from now on, I’m going to believe in daydreams because sometimes they really can come true," Virtanen replied mysteriously.

Bauer, with a vein popping on his forehead, couldn’t stand it anymore and delivered a loving punch to the heads of both men.

"Ouch!! That hurts!!"

"It hurts so bad, Bauer, what are you doing, are you crazy?"

Ortiz and Virtanen crouched down, clutching their heads and screaming in pain.

"I thought you guys were acting a bit off, just wanted to give you a bit of ’treatment.’ Look, you’re back to normal now," Bauer said with a smug grin.

"So violent to your own brothers, no wonder you’re still single at 30," Ortiz retorted through gritted teeth.

Virtanen nodded in agreement, sharing the resentment.

Bauer chuckled coldly. His eyes sharpened as he stared down the two jesters, his tone threatening, "Do you guys need some more ’treatment’ then?"

Frightened, Ortiz and Virtanen instinctively hugged each other. However, as soon as they realized what they were doing, they quickly pushed each other away in disgust.

"I was just about to tell you what happened, I was just setting a mysterious mood," Ortiz claimed, trying to turn the situation around with a haughty retort.

"Cut to the chase," Bauer said, his lips curling up in a sneer. His expression was cold, as if to say, "Let’s see what you’ve got."
