Nowadays, no instructor would willingly attempt to hypnotize Arix.

This was especially true after the incident with Captain Cantet, who ended up spending several weeks in the military hospital recovering.

Additionally, the current competition at the Hypnosis Training Center was merely to identify if any of the students were spies.

Given Arix’s status as the sole legitimate heiress of the Kering family, the likelihood of her being a spy was virtually nil.

Consequently, the instructor at the Hypnosis Training Center simply turned a blind eye and stamped her card with a badge.

After receiving the card from the instructor, Arix walked away, touching her nose awkwardly as she did.

It seemed the story of Captain Cantet’s ordeal had spread throughout the Hypnosis Training Center. Otherwise, Arix, who considered herself quite likable, wouldn’t have sensed such evident disdain from the instructor.

Shrugging off the slight, Arix looked at her card, now adorned with two badges. She felt a bit consoled. Disdain or not, as long as she had her lovely badges, it was fine by her.

"Now, where’s the next badge?" Arix wondered aloud, flipping the card to check the location of the third badge.

"Holographic? What kind of training is that?" Arix was puzzled but decided it was best to check it out in person. The Holographic Training Center was also located within the psychic training grounds, and she arrived there shortly.



To her surprise, Drexel was also there. Upon seeing Arix, he provocatively waved his card, which also had two badge stamps, in front of her.

"Arix, you might as well give up now," Drexel taunted with a smug laugh.

"Don’t you think it’s a bit early to be saying that, dude?" Arix retorted, flashing her own two-badge card.

The surrounding students, unintentionally caught in their verbal crossfire, silently hugged their badge-less cards and sadly moved away from the pair.

After a brief comparison of their cards, Arix and Drexel snorted coldly at each other and put away their cards. Then, they turned their attention to the Holographic Training Center.

"Why don’t you go in first?" Drexel offered, his politeness obviously feigned.

"Thank you, I will," Arix replied, not really appreciating his insincerity, and walked into the Holographic Training Center with a forced smile.

Drexel paused, a bit taken aback by Arix’s blunt demeanor. Then he shook his head with a smirk and followed her inside.

Upon seeing them coming in, the instructor at the Center pointed to two small rooms and said, "Stay inside for half an hour, and you’ll earn your badge."

"Alright," Arix and Drexel responded.

They entered their respective rooms, and as soon as they did, the instructor shut the doors behind them.

Arix was shocked to find that the small room was a Connective Device, where her Psychic Incarnation was sharing experiences and pain with a soldier who had been captured by criminals.



The gruesome details of the torture—the flaying, nose cutting, eight fingers chopped off, eyes crushed, and five ribs smashed—were vividly felt by Arix. The soldier had been forced to stay awake throughout the ordeal with the help of stimulants, denying him even the mercy of unconsciousness.

When the half-hour was up, the instructor opened the door. He found Arix with clenched fists, her lips bitten to bleeding.

"Time’s up, you can come out now," the instructor stated calmly.

Arix ignored him, her eyes bloodshot, and asked hoarsely, "Is this person still alive?"

The instructor finally looked at Arix properly, affirming firmly yet soothingly, "Alive! He’s now happy, with a wife and children."

"That’s good," Arix said, her tense emotions relaxing as tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.

Drexel came out of his pod and immediately rushed to his sister’s. After giving a respectful military salute to the instructor, he hugged Arix, offering silent comfort.

At that moment, the competition meant nothing to Drexel; his sister’s well-being was all that mattered.

Arix didn’t resist; she cried heart-wrenchingly in her brother’s arms, releasing all her feelings of helplessness.

After a while, her emotions finally stabilized.

Together, they walked out of the Holographic Training Center, their cards newly stamped with the badge.

"Arix, I concede. You win this time; let’s withdraw," Drexel said, unable to bear the thought of his beloved sister undergoing more suffering.



Arix’s tears nearly broke his heart, and he didn’t want to feel so helpless again. To him, her tears were the most potent weapon—hitting straight to the heart with overwhelming force.

But Arix was not moved by his words; instead, her anger surged from zero to a hundred. "Drexel! How dare you say that? That’s almost insulting to me!" she demanded, her eyes flaming with fury.

"I—I meant it for your good..." Drexel stammered, taken aback by his sister’s explosive anger.

Although frightened, he still tried to explain with a tinge of hurt in his voice.

For the first time, Arix lost control of her emotions in anger, "For my good? How could you say that? Are you trying to make me feel guilty? In the future, you won’t just be my brother; you’ll be an admiral of the Fifth Legion, an admiral of the entire Alliance. I want to be your companion, not a burden that drags you down, understand?"

"But you are my only sister; I can’t bear to see you going through that much," Drexel replied weakly. Then, fearful of making his sister even angrier, he nervously glanced at Arix a few times.

"Ha, I was just making a presumption. Do you really think I’d just be your companion? No, I’ll be much more than that," Arix said sarcastically. Then she turned and walked away.

Before she left, Arix coldly dropped another line, "If one day you become weaker than me, I wouldn’t mind taking someone else as my companion, or even my brother."

Now it was Drexel’s turn to explode in anger, and the more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

"What the hell, Arix! What do you mean? Besides me and Kellan, who else do you want as your brother?" he shouted after Arix. "Just because you’re better than me? I’ll show you in a minute. I’ll be your brother, being stronger than you for now and forever!"

As Arix walked away, she didn’t look back. She raised her hand and waved it behind her, as if to say, "We’ll see about that."

Out of Drexel’s sight, the corners of Arix’s mouth curled up slightly in a smirk.
