Chapter 208: Join The Fight

About five kilometers from the wormhole, they were stopped by the stationed army of Planet Waste.

"There’s an insectoid wave ahead. Everyone not from the corps, turn back and head to the shelters immediately," the Alliance captain, leading the army in his mecha, blocked the four Supergiant-Class mechas.

If these mechas could help fight the insectoids, their chances of winning would be much higher. But since they weren’t part of the Alliance corps, even the captain couldn’t let them pass without permission.

The four of them, not expecting to be stopped, exchanged confused glances.

"What do we do now?" Arix asked through her earpiece in their mecha squad channel.

"No big deal, I’ll talk to him," Drexel said, pressing the external voice button.

He then addressed the captain, "Sir, we are HMA military students. It’s our duty to fight, especially in such an urgent situation. I don’t see any need to keep us away from this, right?"

The captain nodded, but quickly shook his head, "Since you are military students, you’re like my juniors. I can’t let you take such risks. You should go back."

After another round of back and forth, the guy still refused to let them through.

"Let me try," Arix interrupted.

"Sure, give it a shot," Drexel said, feeling exasperated with the stubborn man.



Arix cleared her throat to get everyone’s attention before speaking, "Sir, we need to get in there."

Drexel: ...’How’s that better than mine?’

The officer, annoyed by their persistence, firmly replied, "I said no. Go back immediately!"

Arix remained calm and said, "We are Supergiant-Class mecha pilots."

The captain hesitated.

Seeing a chance, Arix raised an eyebrow and continued, "We are four Supergiant-Class mecha pilots."

The captain wavered.

Arix delivered the final blow, "We are soldiers with four Supergiant-Class mechas."

"Stop, stop! I’ll ask my superior!" the captain exclaimed, overwhelmed.

"Thank you, sir," Arix said innocently, blinking her eyes.

Sighing and shaking his head, the captain reported the situation to his superior, the Rear Admiral in charge of Planet Waste.

The Rear Admiral, hearing about four Supergiant-Class mecha pilots, agreed without hesitation.

Only a fool would refuse!

With orders from his superior, the captain had no reason to refuse. After registering their information, he waved them through.

Overjoyed, the four nodded to each other and piloted their mechas into the wormhole’s danger zone.

In the command room, Elion, the Overseer of Planet Waste, spotted Sylar, the Rear Admiral, grinning from ear to ear.

Curious, Elion asked, "What’s got you so cheerful?"



"Oh, it’s a good thing. Some military students just volunteered to help within the wormhole’s guard range. Four Supergiant-Class mecha pilots, can you believe that? They were so enthusiastic, I couldn’t say no," Sylar said, his smile widening with pride.

Elion’s heart sank. ’Military students? Oh no! Are they those military students I just heard about?’

"Sylar, send me the info on those four military students, now," Elion demanded urgently, a sense of dread washing over him.

"What’s wrong? Why are you so worked up?" Sylar asked, puzzled, but he still sent the information over.

Elion didn’t have time to explain. He opened the data and nearly fell off his chair.

Sylar panicked, seeing Elion slump lifelessly in his chair. He grabbed Elion’s shoulders and shook him hard. "Hey, Elion, say something. Just tell me what is going on, OK? You’re scaring me a bit."

Already overwhelmed with worry and now being shaken violently, Elion had had enough. He punched the thick-headed Sylar.

Holding his head, Sylar looked pitiful. "Why did you hit me?"

"Why did you let those troublemakers in?" Elion snapped, more upset than ever.

Sylar was clueless.

"What’s so bad about letting in a few military students? They need to face those insectoids eventually," Sylar said, feeling misunderstood.

Elion sighed deeply. "Those military students include the future admiral of the Fifth Legion and the Alliance’s future hope, Drexel and Arix Kering. If anything happens to them, are you sure you can handle the consequences?"

Sylar’s expression froze as if struck by lightning.

After a moment, he reacted, looking devastated. He hugged Elion’s leg and cried, "Elion, save me!"

Elion laughed coldly, feeling utterly helpless. "I’m exhausted. Let’s just face the end."

"No, we can still fix this!" Sylar cried, looking desperate.

Elion glanced at the pitiful Sylar and sighed deeply. "Since we can’t pull them out now, inform your soldiers to protect those kids well."

Sylar desperately wanted to pull those troublemakers out, but after some thought, he realized there was no better option. With a heavy sigh, he relayed the order to his subordinates.

Meanwhile, Arix and the others were stunned as soon as they entered the wormhole’s guard range.



The sight of the massive insectoid swarm and the fierce battle between humans and insectoids was overwhelming. Thousands of military mechas clashed with the surrounding insectoids.

It seemed like the military was holding its ground, successfully stopping the insectoids from spreading.

However, the insectoids also kept the military mechas from approaching the wormhole. If the three central wormholes continued producing insectoids, the military’s hope of holding Planet Waste would grow slimmer by the minute.

The lead combat commander was all too aware of this. They had just one Ether Crystal, not enough to close all the wormholes. But closing even one wormhole could increase their chances of winning by over 20%.

The problem was the insectoids were guarding the wormholes fiercely. They couldn’t break through the outer defenses, let alone get close to the wormholes.

"Damn it, if only we had a few Supergiant-Class mecha pilots right now," the commander muttered, glaring at the wormholes with a mix of anger and helplessness.

The Alliance was vast, with most Supergiant-Class mecha pilots stationed on the front lines or protecting important planets. Planet Waste’s best pilot was only Subgiant-Class, and they were already grateful for that. The insectoids likely exploited this weakness, choosing to attack Planet Waste.

If the commander were a Supergiant-Class mecha pilot, he would have fought these insectoids himself.

As his despair grew, a request from an unfamiliar mecha channel came in, asking to join the military mecha channel.

The commander, hoping for reinforcements, approved the request.

"Hello, sir. We are Supergiant-Class mecha pilots requesting to join the battle," Drexel said seriously over the radio. He knew that if the battle dragged on, Planet Waste would soon fall.

The commander was stunned for a moment, thinking he misheard. "Supergiant-Class mecha pilots?" he asked, incredulous. ’Really, exactly what I’m needing now?’
