Chapter 207: Going Against Insectoids

The insectoid screeched, excitement evident as it lifted Crax high, ready to feast.

"Roar!" A tiger’s roar, filled with fury and sorrow, echoed through the junkyard. A streak of white light zipped across the distance, and in a flash, the insectoid’s limb holding Crax was severed by Arix’s swift claw.

Arix quickly shifted into his human form, catching Crax as he fell.

"Who... who are you?" Crax struggled to lift his head, trying to make out Arix through his blood-drenched vision. He coughed up more blood, his strength fading fast.

Before Arix could respond, Crax’s eyes widened. "Watch out!" he shouted, but then he saw it was unnecessary. A psychic power shield enveloped them both, blocking the insectoid’s attacks.

"Uncle Crax, it’s me, Arix. Stay still; I’ll heal your wounds." Arix formed a psychic sword and cut off the remaining insectoid limb from Crax’s wound.

As she moved to help, Crax grabbed her wrist. "Forget about me now. You need to alert the Fifth Legion now! The insectoids... they’re planning to attack Planet Waste. They’ve set up three wormhole passages ten kilometers ahead."

Recognizing Arix, Crax relaxed a bit, panting as he explained.

Arix’s heart raced. One wormhole was bad enough, but three? She quickly used her opticomputer to call his grandfather.

"Arix, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?" Matis answered, initially casual but then alarmed by the sight of the insectoid and injured Crax.

"I’m on Planet Waste. This retired soldier, Thaul Crax, says the insectoids are about to attack. They’ve established three wormhole passages here," Arix reported, keeping her voice steady.



Matis’s expression grew serious. One wormhole was manageable, typically handled with an Ether Crystal. But three at once? That was new territory. If they couldn’t be closed in time, Planet Waste would be overrun, its inhabitants doomed to become insectoid food.

Understanding the gravity, Matis instructed urgently, "Arix, stay safe. I’ll send reinforcements right away."

"Okay," Arix nodded, equally serious.

"Take care," Matis said, worry evident before ending the call.

With the message sent, Crax finally allowed himself to relax, slipping into unconsciousness.

"Uncle Crax!" Arix cried, seeing Crax near death. She didn’t waste a second, starting surgery to clean and tend to the wounds.

At this moment, Drexel and the others arrived. The three of them tacitly avoided disturbing Arix. Instead, they launched a swift counterattack against the insectoids.

In no time, Drexel and his team, with their overwhelming power, easily took down the few arrogant insectoids.

"Arix, what happened? Who is this person?" Drexel asked, putting away his psychic power spear, which still dripped with insectoid blood.

Arix deactivated the psychic power shield.

While continuing to treat Crax, she explained to Drexel and the others, "This is Uncle Crax, the one who wrote the HMA recommendation letter for me. Drexel, go tell the governor of this planet. The insectoids have already established three wormhole passages ten kilometers ahead. They could attack at any moment."

"Got it! I’ll handle it!" Drexel responded. He immediately used his family privileges to contact the governor of Planet Waste.

The governor, who had already received a notification from the Fifth Legion, felt like passing out when he learned that Drexel and his team were also on the scene.

Initially, he managed to stay calm about the insectoid ambush. But now, with Drexel and Arix Kering also involved, he was nearly terrified out of his wits.



If anything happened to Arix, he didn’t even know how to explain it to the higher-ups and the people of the Alliance.

Despite his inner turmoil, the governor immediately dispatched troops to support Arix and her team. He specifically instructed the rescue troops to ensure the safety of everyone.

After arranging support for Arix, the governor and the Rear Admiral stationed on Planet Waste began to prepare all pre-battle measures.

First, they activated the energy shields over all cities on Planet Waste. This was the last line of defense against the insectoid invasion.

Next, they ordered all Alliance citizens on the planet to take shelter in military bunkers.

Finally, the governor commanded all military units to form a defensive perimeter to stop the insectoids from invading through the three wormholes.

Clear and precise orders were rapidly transmitted from the combat command center. Suddenly, all cities on Planet Waste sounded alarms for an insectoid attack.

Hearing the alarms, the ordinary people of Planet Waste fell into panic and chaos. Luckily, when soldiers and police officers with loudspeakers began guiding the crowds, people started to calm down and follow the evacuation procedures.

As the city alarms rang out, Arix carefully placed Crax, now safe, onto the Lev. She set the destination to the orphanage and let the Lev take off on autopilot.

Once Crax was securely on his way, the four young fighters nodded to each other without hesitation, each summoning their Supergiant-Class mecha.

"Didn’t think renting these Supergiant-Class mechas from school just in case would actually pay off," Deanna said, laughing bitterly.

"Deanna, Marceau, if we manage to save Planet Waste, I’ll push for you both to get rights to two Supergiant-Class mechas from the military. Plus, I’ll cover the repairing fee of any damage to these mechas," Arix said, knowing their situation and making an appealing offer.

Having usage rights meant all damages on the mehcas, except for intentional ones, would be covered by the military, and there would be no rental fees. They would only return the mechas once they got their own Supergiant-Class units.



Marceau and Deanna nearly jumped up when they heard the offer.

Even Marceau couldn’t keep his cool.

Deanna jumped up, excitedly asking, "Arix, you promise?"

Deanna and Marceau had been stressed because they couldn’t compete without mechas. They could rent from the military academy, but the costs were too high. If they got the military’s Supergiant-Class mecha usage rights, it would solve a huge problem for them.

Arix nodded firmly. If the military didn’t agree, she could use her merit points to get the usage rights for Deanna and Marceau. She had plenty of points anyway.

Seeing Arix’s confirmation, Deanna was overjoyed. She quickly jumped into her cockpit and shouted in the channel, "What are we waiting for? Let’s go!"

Arix smiled and was about to climb into her mecha when Drexel, standing nearby, winked and said, "Arix, what about me?"

Arix’s smile vanished, replaced with a forced grin, "Leave, now."

Ignoring Drexel, she got into her Star Dust.

Drexel pouted and mumbled, "No need to be so fierce, you’re becoming more like a tigress."

Already in her cockpit, Arix saw Drexel still standing there and angrily shouted, "What are you waiting for?"

Drexel, scared, quickly got into Blue Raven and followed the others.
