Chapter 243: Arix In A Coma

Vezgor had never imagined that his long-buried secret would be uncovered by his granddaughter. The shock and confusion hit him hard, but seeing Arix so devastated snapped him out of it quickly.

With trembling hands, he rushed over and gently wiped the tears from her face. "Arix, this isn’t your fault. I’ve never regretted it, so please, don’t cry," Vezgor reassured her softly, his voice free of any blame.

He couldn’t possibly hold his own granddaughter responsible for this. Comforting her was all that mattered now.

After a while, Arix began to calm down. But as the storm of emotions subsided, regret crept in. She couldn’t believe she had lashed out at her grandfather, the one who had always protected her.

The guilt weighed on her, and she quickly apologized. "I’m so sorry, Grandpa. I shouldn’t have acted that way."

"It’s alright, really. I know you were just worried," Vezgor replied, relieved to see the tears finally stop.

Arix looked at her overly caring grandfather, and a fresh wave of tears brimming to spill.

Vezgor, seeing the familiar glimmer in her eyes, panicked. "Sweetheart, please, no more tears. You nearly gave Grandpa a heart attack just now."

Arix nodded but then shook her head slightly. "I won’t cry, but you have to promise me something."

"Anything, my dear. Just name it. I’d do anything to keep those tears away," Vezgor said, desperate to keep her from breaking down again.

A small smile appeared on Arix’s face. "Alright, Grandpa, wait here for a bit."



She quickly left the room and headed to her bedroom. Once inside, she locked the door and set up a psychic barrier.

"Arix, are you sure about this?" Sylvana and the three little ones appeared from the psychic world, their concern evident.

Arix pulled out a scalpel and an empty potion bottle, her voice steady. "If it weren’t for Grandpa, I wouldn’t be alive today. I’m just giving up a little blood in return."

"But this is Sylvana’s vital blood. You haven’t even fully inherited her power yet. Losing this could seriously harm you," Sylvana cautioned, her worry deepening.

"I understand the risks, but I can’t let Grandpa suffer because of me," Arix replied with determination. Without hesitation, she used the scalpel to pierce her chest.

Concentrating, she drew out her heart’s blood with her psychic powers, letting it drip into the potion bottle.

"Arix!" Sylvana tried to intervene, but Vita held her back.

Confused and upset, she turned to him, questioning why he stopped her.

Vita simply shook his head, his voice laced with reluctant acceptance. "Sylvana, if Arix were in danger, we’d do the same. When it comes to protecting those we love, sometimes we have to let them make their own choices."

Sylvana, though still worried, couldn’t argue. She turned away, unable to watch, her eyes tightly shut against the painful scene.

Arix gave Vita a thankful nod and continued to collect her heart’s blood, her resolve unwavering.

When the potion bottle was finally filled with that golden blood, Arix stopped, her face terribly pale. As soon as she stashed the potion bottle into her Space Button, a sharp pain ripped through her chest.

"Ugh!" Arix gasped, clutching her chest as the pain nearly brought her to her knees.

"Sylvana!" The three little ones and Sylvana rushed to her side, their faces full of concern. They bandaged her chest as quickly as they could and tried to get her to drink a healing potion, their hands moving in a blur of frantic effort.

But despite their best attempts, Arix couldn’t hold onto her human form. She had given up too much vital blood. But instead of resting, Arix gritted her teeth and forced herself to stand, each step toward the door a painful struggle.



"Arix, can’t this wait until tomorrow? You need to rest," Vita said, his usual gentle tone replaced by frustration. She was already so weak, and yet she was still pushing herself.

Arix shook her head weakly but spoke with stubborn resolve. "No, Grandpa can’t wait. I need to see him drink the potion with my own eyes. I won’t be able to rest until I know he’s okay."

Vita sighed, clearly worn down by her determination. And he finally offered, "I’ll take it to him. You need to lie down."

Arix hesitated. She worried that her grandpa might not drink the potion if she wasn’t there. The promise she had made him earlier was her way of making sure he’d take it.

Seeing her indecision, Vita’s patience snapped. For the first time, he lost his temper, "You either rest now, or I’ll knock you out so you have to. Your choice!"

Startled by the outburst, Arix quickly handed him the potion, her voice almost pleading, "Please make sure he drinks it."

Vita shot her a stern look. Then he grabbed the potion, and stormed out of the room.

As soon as Vita was gone, Arix’s body gave out. She let out a long sigh of relief before collapsing onto the bed, her energy completely spent.

The three little ones hovered close, worry etched on their faces.

Just then, a flash of light enveloped Arix. Her body could no longer maintain its human form, and she reverted back to her tiger cub shape.

Completely exhausted, Arix drifted off into a deep, much-needed sleep.

Arix had been asleep for what felt like forever.

Even in her drowsy state, she could sense that people had come and gone from her room, their voices carrying hints of worry.

"doctor, what’s happening to my daughter? How did she get so sick all of a sudden?" Fleur’s voice, thick with anxiety, pierced through the fog in Arix’s mind, nudging her closer to wakefulness.

’Mom? The doctor? Are they talking about me?’

Before she could gather her thoughts, the doctor’s voice cut through the haze.



"Your daughter isn’t in any serious danger. She just has a weakened immune system, which led to this illness. With some rest, she’ll be fine," The doctor explained, his tone calm and reassuring.

"That doesn’t make sense, Doctor. Arix’s physical power is above the Supergiant+ level. How could she have a weak immune system? Are you sure?" Fleur asked, her confusion clear.

"I’m not sure, but the tests do show a weakened immune system," the doctor replied, sounding just as puzzled.

Arix didn’t catch much else as sleep pulled her back under.

When she woke up again, she was startled to find herself aboard a passenger spaceship.

"Well, look who decided to join the land of the living," Drexel teased, glancing over as he cradled a tiger cub in his arms.

Arix, still feeling drained, managed to ask, "Where are we?"

"We’re on a ship heading back to the Alliance. You’ve been out cold for three days, Arix. You nearly gave everyone a heart attack, especially Cassian. If he didn’t have to lead the Empire’s mecha team in the upcoming competition, he probably would’ve come along," Drexel said, clearly relieved to see her awake.

"I’m sorry for making everyone worry. Can you let them know I’m awake and okay?" Arix asked, too weak to do it herself.

"Sure," Drexel replied, quickly sending out messages. Then, his tone turned serious. "Now, be straight with me. What really happened? With your power level, I don’t buy that a simple illness knocked you out for days."

Arix sighed, deciding it was better to come clean.

Drexel had a way of digging into things until he found the truth, and hiding anything from him would only cause more trouble later.
