22: Chapter 22 Creating New Types of Code!

After sending a WeiChat message to Chen Xin, Wang Shuo slumped on the sofa, feeling deeply that his life was completely hopeless.

After half an hour of serious reflection, he finally remembered what he had overlooked: Chen Xin didn't just rent... one floor, but an entire building!

Wang Shuo counted: the building had three floors, each 246 square meters, making 738 square meters in total. The monthly rent was 170,000, which meant 2.04 million a year!

And this didn't even include the annual property management fees, equipment configuration, maintenance fees, and other expenses! According to the agreement between him and Chen Xin, he had to pay for all of this!

Was Chen Xin helping him? This was clearly a rhythm of her being afraid he wouldn't owe her enough money, wanting him to work for her for the rest of his life!

Wang Shuo was furious.

He immediately took out his phone and sent a WeiChat message to Chen Xin.

"Miss Chen! You... you've gone too far! I knew you didn't have good intentions! You... even if you want to lend money and collect usurious interest, you have to give people some room to refuse! How can you make me owe you a huge debt for no reason! Let me tell you, I, Wang Shuo, will never owe you money! Never! Even if you gave me ten million, I would resolutely pay you back! Resolutely!"

"I, Wang Shuo, will never work for you!"

After sending the message, Wang Shuo slumped on the sofa, not expecting a reply from Chen Xin—anyway, she had never replied to his messages before.

But this time... a few minutes later, Wang Shuo's phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was indeed a reply from Chen Xin, containing only two words.

"Interest."

Wang Shuo instantly cowered. He wanted to say something soft, but couldn't bring himself to do it, so he fiercely replied with two words.

"Dream on!"

Slumping the phone aside, Wang Shuo rubbed his face. Saying it was one thing, doing it was another. Besides, he had forced himself into a corner; there was no other way but success. Now he could only hope that the predecessors of the Humanoid Race were capable enough to let him successfully slap that cold face of Chen Xin.

He sat in the chair and reached out to turn on the computer on the workstation, which was too expensive for him to afford. The smooth touch, the massive screen, the boot speed that was fast enough to fly.

Sure enough... just accept it with peace of mind. Why bring up paying back the money? Is three million something a little loser like you can afford to pay back? Your self-esteem is just too strong.

However, this property management was indeed quite professional. They had long ago installed various development software that might be needed on the computer, such as requirements tools, design tools, construction tools, testing tools, maintenance tools, etc., all available. And it was high-end, atmospheric, and classy; it probably... wasn't pirated software, right?

Wang Shuo casually opened his email, downloaded the attachments, and prepared to take a serious look.

Thanks to the powerful download bandwidth, the attachments downloaded very quickly. In just over five minutes, the attachments, which were over 2 GB, had all been downloaded.

Wang Shuo opened them and began to check.

Time passed minute by minute, and it wasn't until half an hour later that Wang Shuo finished browsing through all the materials.

"This is a trap..." Wang Shuo looked at the materials in front of him, feeling like crying but having no tears. Just by looking at them, he felt his heart trembling.

The information on the screen was very simple. It was the specific parameters and technical data of a multi-axis Machining Center developed by their company. Judging from the data, the performance of this Machining Center was okay; it could complete precision carving of parts of various shapes, including hollow processing.

But the problem arose. The machine was built, and the precision could be guaranteed, but it was stuck at the control system stage, and it just couldn't pass.

Chen Group had also tried using several domestic independent machine tool control software, but the complexity and precision of the operation... were simply horrendous.

Not to mention frequent tool collisions, it also often had bugs. The scrap rate of processed materials was extremely high, and the processing cost increased by more than three to five times.

Who would buy such a Machining Center? Who would dare to use it?

If such a product were launched, the technology company under Chen Group would likely be instantly drowned by criticism from all sides, and the stock price would plummet.

If a competitor took the opportunity to short it at this time...

Then, Chen Group would be finished...

However, there is often a silver lining in bad things. Chen Group was currently stuck on the software, but as far as the product was concerned, the overall quality was quite good. It had five-axis linkage, a built-in tool magazine, and tool-changing functions. Its repeatability could reach 0.009 mm, and its physical precision limit was very high, already approaching the domestic first-tier level.

If the problems with the control system and the Tool Presetter could be solved, allowing the physical performance of the machine tool to be exerted at a high level, and if the price were slightly more reasonable, then it might well become a hit product that would sweep across China.

Such a sufficiently big positive news would definitely make Chen Group's stock soar, and no matter what difficulties Chen Group encountered, they would likely be easily resolved.

Chen Group was also working in this direction, but unfortunately, judging by the current level of domestic software, no one could pat their chest and say that their software could absolutely handle it, let alone achieve comprehensive performance better than similar foreign products.

He... seemed to have jumped into a huge pit.

Previously, Wang Shuo had optimistically estimated that this system would need a team of fifty people to work on it. Now it seemed that, let alone fifty people, even one hundred and fifty people probably couldn't handle it.

Now, there were two tricky problems in front of Wang Shuo—the control system and the high-precision Tool Presetter.

"Forget about the control system, but what the heck is this high-precision Tool Presetter? Tool presetting? Shouldn't the tools be set by themselves? Why is a Tool Presetter needed?"

Wang Shuo looked puzzled. He decided to ask for advice, and if he didn't understand, he would... ask Baidu!

He quickly took out his phone and opened Baidu. The words "Baidu it, and you will know" appeared on the page.

Wang Shuo curled his lips and typed in the words "Tool Presetter".

Sure enough, just as Wang Shuo, who had always used Baidu, expected, the first ten search items were almost all ads.

"Achieve Tool Presetter life management, reduce your tool costs, United States technology certification..."

"Tool Presetter for Machining Center, Haina Baichuan Tool Presetter..."

"You should choose a Tool Presetter this way..."

Only after flipping a page did Wang Shuo find what he was looking for.

"Baidu Baike, Tool Presetter: During the machining process of a workpiece, auxiliary time such as workpiece loading and unloading, and tool adjustment accounts for a considerable proportion of the machining cycle. Especially for tool adjustment, it consumes energy and is extremely time-consuming... Types of Tool Presetters include plug-in arms, pull-down arms, fully automatic tool-setting arms..."

Wang Shuo suddenly realized.

"No wonder I haven't seen this thing in the Humanoid Race civilization; it turns out it's... too backward..."

"A problem that can be solved by a program and equipment, but they insist on creating an auxiliary part... tsk tsk... it's really very backward..."

Having figured out the situation, Wang Shuo no longer struggled. He quickly opened the design tool and began to slowly build the ideas that had been lingering in his Brain Domain for a long time. As for that thick requirements manual, Wang Shuo didn't even look at it. What was the use of looking at that thing besides wasting time? Anyway, just add all the functions that a CNC operating system should have.

"Modular disassembly recognition? Should be needed, add it."

"Perfect circuit protection system? This is useful, add it."

"PMC signals and PMC function sets? Hmm, indispensable, add it."

"Alarm and diagnostic functions? This must be there, add it."

...

Wang Shuo was busy working enthusiastically, and a complete operating system architecture soon appeared on the design software. What remained was how to implement its functions one by one using code.

Wang Shuo poured a cup of water and looked at his masterpiece with great pleasure. This architecture work and such were very simple. Just this, and it needed ten or twenty days? Wang Shuo suspected that those architects were taking salaries without working.

"Hmm... understood the specific requirements, built the architecture, the next step is to implement it. For me, this is simply a piece of ca..."

Wang Shuo suddenly froze.

He suddenly realized that the process of implementing this didn't seem like such a piece of cake.

"How did I forget this?" Wang Shuo closed his eyes and thought carefully. "My whole system is built on Humanoid Race code... let's call it code for now, the principle is the same. My system is built on the Humanoid Race code system, using the Humanoid Race language to compile. There is no English version of the code for me to refer to, not to mention source code, there isn't even a single letter."

Wang Shuo was a bit dumbfounded.

What should I do?

A good code language should have a very clear logical structure. As a language, English's greatest advantage is that it can use 26 letters for permutation and combination, expressing different meanings through different letters, lengths, and patterns. This is also the language closest to computer language; after all, one is enough, and the other is binary (2). If you use Chinese to write code using English logic... it is estimated that the written code will become garbled text that no one understands.

But it is undeniable that the expressive power and meaning of Chinese characters are much stronger than English.

But write his own code in English?

Wang Shuo thought for a moment, shook his head, and ended this terrible thought. Not to mention that this idea could not be realized, even if it could, the amount of work would make Wang Shuo collapse just by looking at it.

The conciseness of the Humanoid Race code is unimaginable; it has mobilized computer logic gates to an extremely perverted degree, while code composed of English is often filled with chaotic logic, repetition, errors, and so on.

Wang Shuo compared them. Commands that often require two, three, or even more than ten lines to explain clearly in English, Humanoid Race code often only uses one line or even two or three characters.

This resulted in one outcome: it was impossible for Wang Shuo to complete the system development within the limited time—millions of lines of code; even if it worked Wang Shuo to death, he couldn't code it out!

Then compile using Chinese?

It seems that this won't work either. Under the existing logical conditions, the workload of writing code using Chinese is even more incalculable, as it involves program modifications at the underlying hardware level of the computer. No matter how miraculous Wang Shuo was, he couldn't change the underlying hardware out of thin air.

"Now we're in big trouble..."

A dozen days, a huge amount of work tasks.

Why is it so easy for others to make money, while any job he takes is so dirty and tiring! Wang Shuo took a deep breath, looked at the dark sky outside, and felt so depressed he wanted to vomit blood.

Even if it was difficult, the work had to be done. Wang Shuo didn't want his reputation to be ruined like this. Money didn't matter anymore; the main thing was not to let Chen Xin look down on him. He had to do it with momentum! He must slap that girl Chen Xin's face!

Isn't there no ready-made code? Create it himself!

Isn't there no compiler? Create it himself!

Isn't there no instruction set? Create it himself!

If there is no road, then build it himself!

"There is no code language in reality that corresponds to the Humanoid Race characters. I need to convert them, and then use the methods on Earth to describe and package them."

"I also need a compiler. Creating and converting a code language is not difficult, but the converted language needs to be recognizable by the computer."

"Finally, I also need time... this problem is hard to deal with."

Wang Shuo exhaled, his brain running at high speed.

"As long as your thinking doesn't go off track, there are always more solutions than difficulties. If there is no code language, I will create a code language. If there is no underlying software, I will create a compiler! If there is not enough time to code, I will create a coding machine!"

"Everything is difficult at the beginning. The first thing I should do is... simplify the code."
