93: Chapter 93 Let Me Take You Flying
To be born is to be unique!
This was the conclusion Wang Shuo had reached after carefully studying the history of the Humanoid Race's intelligent computer development.
In the society of the Humanoid Race, there was once a long period of confusion. When electronic computers hit a bottleneck, a large number of people worked day and night to design superior software. They constantly researched new program architectures, new algorithms, and even new code. As the crown jewel of software, program intelligence naturally triggered countless rivalries.
It was an era where a hundred flowers bloomed. Countless programs branded as "intelligent" gushed forth, infiltrating every aspect of the Humanoid Race's society. Shopping? There was shopping intelligence. Daily life? There was daily life intelligence. Interaction with children? There was intelligence designed specifically for toddlers. Industrial operations? There was industrial intelligence. Manufacturing? There were manufacturing skills. Every industry you could think of had its corresponding intelligence. These intelligences belonged to different business divisions (similar to corporations) and, due to competition, were incompatible with one another. When user bases overlapped significantly, using them became extremely tedious.
To use an analogy, it was like the current WeiChat and Zhifutong. If you went to one store, you could only use WeiChat; at another store, you could only use Zhifutong. This forced users to have both; lacking either was not an option, unless you stopped shopping or dining at stores that used Zhifutong. And that was just one aspect—what if this person also had a job that required using other intelligent programs?
The proliferation of pseudo-intelligent programs was a major headache for a small group of explorers among the Humanoid Race. They vowed to end this situation and create a brand-new, universal intelligence. This intelligent program would possess unprecedented capabilities and could be applied to all aspects of society. They prepared a two-pronged plan. First, they would design a completely new intelligent learning algorithm. Unlike other intelligent programs, their focus was not on the program's functions, but on its logic. In other words, they wanted to make the intelligent program more human-like. Second, based on this new intelligent program logic algorithm, they abandoned existing computer theories and, drawing on discoveries from the technological explosion, designed a brand-new computer—the optical quantum computer!
The process of creating something new was long and complex. Through their efforts, they finally designed a brand-new computer logic algorithm. This algorithm supported the autonomous addition and learning of new algorithms, making it closer to intelligent life than simple logical operations. The explorers named it the Primary Intelligent Core I. Meanwhile, the optical quantum computer developed alongside it was named the Primary Optical Quantum Bionic Intelligent Brain, or "optical brain" for short.
A new era had begun.
To be born... is to be unique!
Walking down the hallway, Wang Shuo recalled this record of the Humanoid Race and shook his head with a sigh. If the Humanoid Race's universe hadn't perished, and they were given another ten million years, he really wondered if this terrifying race would have actually found a way to other universes.
When that time came... a war between two universes? Invasion and counter-invasion? Perhaps it would even alarm higher civilizations.
Such a scene... just thinking about it was spectacular.
Wang Shuo smacked his lips and left the teaching building with a sigh.
Inside the classroom, there was utter silence.
Professor Liu Feiting was still reeling from the shock of Wang Shuo's final words.
"To be born is to be unique?" Lost in thought, Professor Liu Feiting murmured to herself. For some reason, she actually felt there was some truth to Wang Shuo's words.
But this... was a complete fallacy. How could there be anything unique in this world?
Recalling Wang Shuo's firm tone, confident gaze, and the profound aura he exuded as he left, Professor Liu Feiting frowned slightly.
"Everyone."
Just as Professor Liu Feiting and the others were dazed, Teacher Ding Runan's voice rang out again. Everyone immediately focused their gaze on Teacher Ding Runan, who had walked to the center at some point, her expression solemn and her brow furrowed.
"What Wang Shuo said in class today stays in this classroom. If I hear anyone discussing it outside..." Teacher Ding Runan's face darkened. "You will be expelled from the project team, have your student status revoked, and never be admitted again!"
If expulsion was already an extremely severe punishment, then the clause of "never being admitted again" was practically a slow death sentence.
Looking at Teacher Ding Runan's stern face, everyone felt a chill in their hearts. However, considering Wang Shuo's shocking words, such a measure seemed perfectly reasonable.
In any case, they had gained a lot from coming today. Some of the official team members had even resolved doubts they had harbored for years, thanks to Wang Shuo's explanation.
So code could be designed this way? So code could be this beautiful!
"Professor Liu..."
Professor Liu Feiting looked up, staring somewhat blankly at her junior female classmate, seemingly not yet fully snapped out of it.
"Professor Liu..." Du Juan stuck her tongue out sheepishly and asked cautiously, "Can I copy your notes? I didn't understand a lot of what Wang Shuo said, and I didn't memorize it either..."
This was all thanks to Wang Shuo's laziness. In over two hours, he barely wrote a few lines on the blackboard, relying almost entirely on verbal explanation.
"Of course." Snapping out of it, Professor Liu Feiting smiled and handed her notebook to Du Juan. "If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me anytime."
"Thank you, Professor Liu," Du Juan said in pleasant surprise. "Could you wait a moment? I'll copy them right now."
Professor Liu Feiting nodded. Watching Du Juan happily return to her desk, she couldn't help but sigh. Back in the day, she had gone through the same thing.
But then again, where on earth did this Wang Shuo come from? The things he explained today didn't seem like something a mere technology enthusiast could cook up.
Professor Liu Feiting looked toward the classroom door, her eyes sparkling.
She was really... getting more and more curious.
Wang Shuo... just what other secrets do you have?
...
"Achoo!"
Walking to the bottom of the dormitory building, Wang Shuo rubbed his nose. It was already late winter, a time when even W City felt quite chilly.
"Did I catch a cold yesterday?"
Pondering silently, Wang Shuo took out his phone to check a message he had just received, then turned into a nearby convenience store with a sigh.
A large bucket of water, two big boxes of instant noodles, five sausages, and various other snacks.
Carrying such a large bag of things, he pushed open the dormitory door with some effort and, as expected, saw the scene he had anticipated.
"Boss, is it really okay for you to skip class like this?"
Putting the snacks on the table, Wang Shuo looked at Zheng Jun, who was locked in a fierce battle, and felt a bit helpless.
"What's wrong with that? It's just an elective, I can just wing it." Zheng Jun pointed to the computer next to him that belonged to Wang Shuo. "Come on, Second Brother. My hands are on fire today, I promise to carry you to victory."
"That's the eleventh time you've said that." Wang Shuo shook his head. When it came to playing games, he really seemed to have no talent. Every time he logged on with full confidence, he would always get insta-killed and sent back to base. He couldn't understand why the enemy heroes' damage was so absurd.
But today...
Wang Shuo skillfully turned on his computer and launched the game. While it was loading, he opened the run command box, typed in a line of code, and after a moment...
"Good morning, sir."
It was done.
"Zero, scan the game software and analyze the data packets."
"Analysis complete, sir."
"Identify ergonomic device signal data and initiate real-time simulation spoofing."
"In position, sir."
This is awesome.
If Zheng Jun weren't right next to him, Wang Shuo would have pumped his fist in excitement.
"Second Brother, you ready? I'm done with my match." Zheng Jun's loud voice rang out again. "It's just logging into a game, why is it taking so long?"
"Ready." Looking at the data displayed on the screen, Wang Shuo revealed a mysterious smile.
"Boss."
"Hmm?"
"My hands are feeling pretty good today too. How about I carry you instead?"
