37: Chapter 37 Master?

Chen Zhongxuan felt that today was not going to be a smooth day.

He had originally planned out the script for today. In his script, at today's evaluation meeting, W Company would demonstrate its crushing system capabilities, while Chen Group would offer huge profits in exchange for W Company's support. Finally, he and Matsumoto Bieyun would reach an agreement, bringing things to a perfect conclusion.

Journalists would report truthfully and write articles, but no matter how they wrote them, the fact remained that Chen Group had received the strongest support. A win-win cooperation with W Company was akin to injecting a stimulant into the precarious Chen Group.

Under the chain reaction, his prior arrangements would be activated, the group's financial crisis would be solved, and he would no longer have to worry about the covetous eyes of other financial groups.

He had calculated everything, but what he never expected was that his carefully designed script would be brutally torn apart, smashed, crumpled into a ball, and thrown into the trash by his own daughter.

He never imagined that Chen Xin, whom he thought had been led astray, would casually bring out a joke of a system program.

And this seemingly joking system program had actually crushed W Company's pride-and-joy system to smithereens...

All his schemes, calculations, strategies, and manipulations had turned into a pale joke under such brutal, overwhelming strength.

Watching the arrogant Tanaka bow to his daughter, watching the overbearing Matsumoto Bieyun, who had forced him to raise prices on the spot, retreat in embarrassment, watching the fanatical manufacturer representatives around him, and watching the reporters who were excited about having discovered a major news story.

Chen Zhongxuan took a deep breath. It wasn't just Chen Xin who felt like she was in a dream; he felt like he was in a dream too.

For so many years, the scene he had been pursuing had been realized today through Chen Xin's hands. For all these years, he had poured all his efforts into investing in the technology industry—for what? Wasn't it to make a name for Chen Group and to inject a stimulant into the development of China's technology?

Wang Shuo... that child, was his name Wang Shuo?

Looking at the chaotic scene, Chen Zhongxuan smiled slightly, the frustration from being contradicted by Chen Xin having completely dissipated.

Now, all he had to do was provide a perfect summary and conclusion to today's events—something he was originally supposed to do with Matsumoto Bieyun, but now, he would have to do it himself.

He coughed, drawing everyone's attention to himself.

"It seems the results are out. Professor Qin, you are an expert in material technology; could you please analyze it for us?"

Professor Qin readily agreed, walked straight down from the podium, and made his way through the crowd to Machine No. 1. Chen Zhongxuan and several other experts followed behind him.

"It's truly indescribable... truly indescribable..." The white-haired Professor Qin looked at the gleaming workpiece in President Cheng's hands and muttered to himself. Then, he reached out with slightly trembling hands, carefully took the workpiece, and held it in his palm.

"It's too beautiful."

All the experts looked on with admiration.

Even Chen Zhongxuan had to admit that the workpiece before him was so beautiful that it exceeded the definition of a mere workpiece.

"It's a work of art! Truly a work of art! I can't believe this was made by our own machine!"

"I don't need to use instruments to measure it. Just looking at this finish and feeling it, I know the precision can't be bad. Chairman Chen, what is the best physical precision of this machine of yours?"

Chen Zhongxuan called over a technician and asked.

"I'm ashamed to say, it only has a physical precision of 0.009 mm."

"That's enough, the precision is definitely enough." Professor Qin stroked the shiny, smooth surface of the workpiece and exclaimed, "Chairman Chen, you have truly surprised me! To have such a good thing and keep it hidden until now! And to reveal it in this way."

Seeing the meaningful look in Professor Qin's eyes, even with his thick skin, Chen Zhongxuan couldn't help but blush slightly.

If he had even the slightest bit of credit for this, he would accept the old man's praise, but the problem was... he had absolutely none!

"Ahem, Professor Qin, you are overpraising me. Before my daughter brought this out, I was completely unaware of it."

"I understand, I understand." Professor Qin chuckled, "Chairman Chen, don't think that just because I study Science, I don't understand the ways of the business world."

Chen Zhongxuan felt his smile stiffen. What exactly did you understand now? He quickly changed the subject, "Ahem, Professor Qin, could you tell us what level of craftsmanship this product has reached?"

"What level?" Professor Qin laughed, "Let me put it this way, Chairman Chen. The gap between the workpieces Machine No. 1 made before and the workpieces from Machine No. 3 is the same as the gap between Machine No. 3 and this product!"

"Machine No. 1 before... had an accident..." Chen Zhongxuan suddenly realized, "Are you serious?"

"Naturally, I am serious." Professor Qin nodded with a pleased expression, carefully stroking the workpiece in his hand, "Good stuff, truly good stuff. I didn't expect that I, old Qin, would be able to witness China take such an important step before I'm ready to go into the ground!"

"Professor Qin, if you've had your fill, could you let us all take a look? We've been waiting eagerly for you." The young professor surnamed Wang said with a chuckle.

"Oh, my apologies to everyone. I was just so delighted for a moment. Come, come, you all take a look."

The workpiece continued to be passed around.

"Beautiful, truly beautiful."

"The beauty of the workpiece represents the success of the machine, and even more so, the success of the system." Professor Qin looked at Professor Zeng beside him, "Professor Zeng, if I remember correctly, your research field also includes smart production, right? I wonder if this system could be considered a form of mechanical intelligence?"

"I don't know if it counts..." Professor Zeng paused, "Based on the current situation, it doesn't possess the indicators of intelligent equipment; it cannot interact with humans autonomously, process complex tasks, or understand logical relationships. It is just a highly AI-driven program."

"However, it must be said that its level of AI is truly unmatched in the field of Machining Center systems. At least on the market, I have never seen a program that reaches this level."

"It's not just the AI level; its internal structure and programming are also quite advanced. Look here." Professor Wang pointed to the camera installed on Machine No. 1.

"The program designers designed a complete and perfect logical system. In order to give this program eyes, they even integrated a very small image recognition system inside the program and provided a complete set of algorithms. Through two cameras installed diagonally, it can fully achieve stereo perception of the platform cabin."

"Cameras... the precision cannot be guaranteed." A professor raised a question.

"If the precision of the image recognition system can be improved, and within the limits of the camera's physical resolution, it is entirely possible." Professor Wang answered affirmatively, "But I must state that, to this day, I have not heard of any company that can improve the precision of an image recognition system to 0.5 cm, let alone reach 0.009 mm!"

"So, this company also has impressive strength in image recognition."

"Perhaps this is not something that cameras alone can achieve." Another physics expert also reminded, "Everyone, don't forget that what determines the upper limit of precision for all Machining Centers, besides the system, is more importantly the hardware foundation. A good system can completely determine the minimum travel through output pulse data. If you add advanced image recognition algorithms, then... achieving mm-level precise positioning is not impossible."

"This is truly a genius design."

"Without technology to support it, having a good design is useless."

"And there is one most important point." Professor Wang reached out and pointed to the 3D model image and tool position data on the screen, "The system's autonomous error correction for tool position data."

"Comparative error reporting combined with a database is a feature that many domestic manufacturers have been chasing for decades. And the one before us not only can report errors but can also correct the tool path at the data level, improving operating stability and efficiency by more than just one level. This is where the true technology lies! This company's accumulation at the data level is unmatched in China!"

The experts' explanation left everyone around them enthralled. They had only seen the system's program output, the autonomous correction and adjustment of tool positions, and the stunning finished workpiece, but they knew nothing about these underlying things. In the end, they were users, not designers.

President Cheng stood to the side, nodding slightly in thought, then signaled to Yang Ming beside him, and Yang Ming immediately returned a knowing look.

"The question now is... was this system really made by a Chinese company?"

All the professors turned their gaze to Chen Xin, who was still standing in front of the machine.

"Miss Chen, the system you brought out today has really taken us by surprise." Professor Qin stroked his beard and chuckled, "May I ask which company you commissioned to produce it? If it's a Chinese company... I wonder if you could tell us its name?"

"Grandpa Qin." Chen Xin didn't dare to be negligent. After greeting him, she frowned and asked, "Is this thing... really that impressive?"

"Impressive? How could it not be?" Professor Wang also answered with a chuckle, "Miss Chen, don't look at the system's simple user interface and immature design. These things are only the focus of laymen. We are more concerned with the running code and implementation principles behind the user interface."

"Just in terms of these two aspects, this system can definitely be considered a masterpiece of master-level quality. The person who designed it must be a famous master in the industry, right?"

"A famous... master in the industry?" Chen Xin's expression was a bit strange.

Thinking of that cheeky face, was he a famous master in the industry?

"Indeed, something like this cannot be designed by anyone other than a veteran." Professor Wang said with a determined look.

"If it weren't for a veteran researcher, it could never have been designed." Professor Qin took over the conversation and explained, "A system is not just a simple piece of software; it is known as the pearl of industrial software. Without deep technical foundation and accumulation, it could never be made."

"Yes, especially since it is so convenient. I have never heard of such an installation method and speed." Professor Wang nodded with deep feeling; he was in this field, so he knew the difficulties involved.

The experts and scholars nodded in agreement, which was also the reason why they had been amazed earlier. After all, installing a CNC Machining Center system was as easy as installing a computer operating system—something they had never seen before. This child's play-like installation method had made them wonder if it was just a system animation, but the workpiece in their hands had explained everything. It is foreseeable that once this system is officially released, it will bring about a huge revolution in installation methods; the savings in installation costs alone will be a large sum of money.

"Miss Chen, tell us, so we can also know the name of the master behind this."
