48: Chapter 48 The First Employee

Now that he had money, he could finally do all the things he couldn't do before. Even if it was just buying equipment, ten million should be enough to get most of what he needed, right? However, Wang Shuo needed to plan carefully on how to spend this money.

But what was troubling him now was the phone in front of him—should he answer it or not?

Looking at the continuously vibrating phone and the words "Old Witch" displayed on the screen, Wang Shuo hesitated for a rare moment. When the Old Witch called, it was never for anything good. Considering he hadn't attended class all day again, he figured he must already be on the Old Witch's blacklist.

He reached out and pressed the power button. The world suddenly became quiet.

Just as Wang Shuo let out a sigh of relief, the phone in front of him began to vibrate violently again. The caller ID still displayed "Old Witch."

"This Old Witch, she really won't give up," Wang Shuo muttered, silencing his phone once again.

A minute later, the phone went silent. A moment later, it vibrated, indicating a new message.

Wang Shuo opened it curiously; it was from the Boss.

"Don't answer."

Don't answer? What did that mean?

While Wang Shuo was wondering, the Boss's call came through. Without a second thought, Wang Shuo tapped answer.

"Hey Boss, what's going on? Did you send the wrong message?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end, then a female voice suddenly rang out.

"Wang Shuo, if I don't see you in class tomorrow morning, you can pack your bags and get out!"

"Beep... beep... beep." The call ended.

Wang Shuo was completely dumbfounded.

This... who was to blame? He could only blame himself... He really wanted to cry but had no tears.

...

No matter how heavy his heart was, life had to go on.

No matter how much he wanted to stay in today, tomorrow would still arrive as scheduled.

Life... sometimes it was just so helpless.

Wang Shuo sighed, touching the tiny needle mark on the back of his hand as he walked out of the emergency building. Looking at the darkening sky outside, he didn't even have the heart to treat himself.

Originally, he had thought that since he had suddenly become a multi-millionaire today, he could be considered half a successful person, and it wouldn't be right not to book a decent place and call his brothers to celebrate.

Of course, he couldn't afford a venue like the one owned by Chen Xin's father. For that kind of thing, besides money, you also needed status, and Wang Shuo clearly didn't have that kind of status.

But... thinking about having to face the Old Witch tomorrow, Wang Shuo felt a wave of helplessness. The aura of a multi-millionaire he had just cultivated vanished completely.

He took out his phone, placed an order for some expensive takeout he usually wouldn't dare buy, changed the address to the Software Park, and then dutifully got on the bus heading to the Software Park.

He suddenly remembered that his ten million hadn't arrived in his account yet; he was still a poor person for now.

This Hospital was not far from the Optics Valley Software Park. After swaying on the bus for half an hour, Wang Shuo finally arrived safely at his destination.

By the time he reached the rented office building, it was completely dark outside.

He skillfully entered the password, opened the door, and without stopping on the first or second floor, headed straight up to the third floor.

"Welcome back, sir." A familiar neutral male voice sounded.

"Zero, you should be more natural; don't always speak in the same tone." Wang Shuo put his dinner on the computer desk and complained: "Also, don't keep repeating the same greeting. Chinese characters are profound and elegant; you should learn more."

"Keyword 'learn' detected. Sir, do you need me to expand the corresponding database?"

"Uh..." It really was an artificial idiot.

At this level, it was still far from his requirements. It seemed that upgrading Zero's core code library and database was urgent.

Sitting in front of the computer, Wang Shuo frowned and carefully recalled the knowledge brought by the Data Peak, searching for what he needed, and then writing it down on paper. For this, Wang Shuo had specifically bought a notebook.

Although this knowledge had already been mastered by Wang Shuo, it wasn't something he had learned personally, so he still needed to review it carefully to ensure he didn't make any mistakes.

Footsteps sounded.

Wang Shuo subconsciously lifted his eyelids.

Hmm... high heels, flesh-colored stockings, a black short skirt, plus a formal top...

"Lawyer Liu, it's so late, why aren't you resting?" Wang Shuo asked without lifting his head.

No one spoke. Wang Shuo frowned—what did it mean by not speaking?

"Lawyer Liu, you..." Wang Shuo looked up, looked towards The Figure, and was instantly stunned.

Although the woman in front of him was also wearing a professional suit, a white shirt, and high heels, if you added a pair of full-rimmed black glasses, shoulder-length hair, and that cold, aloof temperament... she was purely a different person.

This made a person with the same cold temperament flash through Wang Shuo's mind, but he had to admit that the person in front of him had more of an 'older sister' style.

"You... you're not Lawyer Liu..." Wang Shuo was a bit confused: "How did you get in?"

He suspected, did he not lock the door when he just came in?

"First, I am certainly not Lawyer Liu." The person who came in gently adjusted her glasses, "Second, it's not about when I came in, but that I have been sitting on the first floor the whole time."

Sitting on the first floor the whole time? Wang Shuo's eyes widened instantly. That meant...

"Then you... then you..."

"Third, considering you are my boss, I won't hold you accountable for the waste of time. Although, because of your coma, I have already wasted a precious day."

"Boss?" Wang Shuo was completely dumbfounded. Big sister, when and where did I hire an elite like you—dignified, beautiful, and seemingly capable—and why don't I know about it?

"Fourth, according to the agreement between me and Miss Chen, I will only serve you for three years. After three years, I am free to stay or leave."

"Fifth, regarding my salary, it must not be less than 50,000 per month. If the salary is overdue for more than two consecutive months, the agreement is void, and I will immediately leave this company."

As the woman said each point, Wang Shuo's eyes widened a little more. When his eyes were about to pop out, Wang Shuo finally couldn't take it anymore and shouted: "Stop!"

The woman frowned slightly but stopped, looking at Wang Shuo quietly.

"First!" Wang Shuo stood up and held up a finger: "I don't know where you came from, who you made an agreement with, or what the terms are, but I don't know you! I haven't even seen you before!"

"Second!" Wang Shuo held up a second finger: "If we're talking about a boss, I am the boss of this company! Even if I accept you as an employee, I should be the one to set the salary, not you!"

"Third!" Wang Shuo said fiercely: "You've said so much, and up until now, I don't even know your name!"

"The agreement between me and Miss Chen does not contain these contents you mentioned," the woman frowned and said calmly.

"Well, it has them now!" Wang Shuo sat back down and picked up his phone: "You wait here, let me confirm."

He pulled up Chen Xin's WeiChat, his fingers flying.

"Miss Chen! What kind of trouble are you causing again!"

"Has she arrived?"

"So this strange woman really was sent by you? Take her away! I don't need any employees!"

"You need her."

"I don't need her!"

"Do you know how to run a company?"

Wang Shuo was stunned and hesitant. "I..."

"Do you have time to run a company?"

"I..."

"Anything else?"

Wang Shuo typed silently: "No."

"Good."

This girl... Wang Shuo put down his phone, gritted his teeth, looked at the woman in front of him, and grunted: "Since you're here, get settled."

Wang Shuo pointed downstairs. "The first and second floors are your domain, the third is mine. From now on, before you come in, you must knock..."

Looking at the empty third-floor staircase, Wang Shuo gloomily swallowed back his words and said dejectedly: "You must file a report."

"I understand." The woman looked up and scanned the area: "I will rearrange and decorate specifically tomorrow. If you don't want to be disturbed, I will handle the soundproofing. The company will need to cover the costs."

"Okay." Wang Shuo nodded helplessly.

"If the company wants to operate, it needs people to ensure normal business activities. I need you to sign relevant documents for company expansion."

"Two people still need to sign documents?" Wang Shuo widened his eyes.

"Any system must be established from the beginning to form a habit," the woman said calmly. "I hope you will personally handle the recruiting."

"Fine, fine." Wang Shuo waved his hand helplessly: "I'll listen to you."

"Finally." The woman slightly raised her head and said calmly: "Nice to meet you. I am Liu Yemei."
