56: Chapter 56 Wang Shuo Needs to Recruit People

Qin Xiaoting.

Wang Shuo gradually had some impression of her. As a man, he would always have some impression of the first stunning girl he encountered, especially after his Brain Domain had been strengthened; even things Wang Shuo had merely glanced at would remain in his memory for a long time.

"So it's you!" Wang Shuo sighed with some emotion. It seemed his luck lately was good enough to buy a lottery ticket; anyone he bumped into on the street turned out to be an "acquaintance" he had met before.

"Please don't take the matter of the fare to heart. Regardless, it was my fault." Wang Shuo touched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. Hijacking someone's car was the kind of thing best forgotten as soon as possible.

"Student Wang Shuo, there is no need to be so polite." Qin Xiaoting tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said softly, "Regardless, we were the ones who hitched a ride. Reason and etiquette dictate that we should thank you."

Wang Shuo gave a wry smile. In his life, he feared people who were this serious the most.

"Student Qin, um... it was my fault for bumping into you. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Qin Xiaoting shook her head. "Is Student Wang Shuo in a hurry?"

"There are some things I need to deal with... so..."

"Then Student Wang Shuo, you go ahead and get busy. I'm fine."

Seeing Qin Xiaoting nod affirmatively, Wang Shuo breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly continued sprinting toward the dormitory building. After he had run four or five meters, Qin Xiaoting suddenly called out from behind him.

"Student Wang Shuo! Please wait a moment!"

Wang Shuo paused his steps and heard a burst of rapid footsteps. Turning around, he saw that Qin Xiaoting had already run up behind him.

"Student Wang Shuo." Qin Xiaoting exhaled a breath. Her flowing hair settled as she came to a stop, and Wang Shuo even felt a few strands brush against his cheek.

"It's fate that we could meet again, so..."

Qin Xiaoting shook the phone in her hand.

Wang Shuo was stunned for a moment, then realized what she meant. He took out his phone, opened WeiChat, and handed it to Qin Xiaoting.

Qin Xiaoting revealed a slight smile, used her phone to add him as a friend, and then carefully added a note. Wang Shuo took a close look; there was nothing special, just his name written simply.

"If there is ever anything that requires Student Wang Shuo's help, I hope you won't refuse just because we aren't very familiar with each other."

"Of course not." Wang Shuo smiled. "If it's within my power, I will definitely not fail to live up to the request."

"I definitely won't make things difficult for Student Wang Shuo." Qin Xiaoting offered a sweet smile.

Who knows, Wang Shuo muttered to himself, not lingering any longer, and sprinted away.

Once he reached the dormitory building, Wang Shuo finally had time to take out his phone and scroll through it. He saw the friend he had just added, whose profile picture was a very cute cartoon character.

"Ximeng."

Wang Shuo murmured the name, then selected the call for the boss.

"Hey, Boss, I'm downstairs. What are you guys eating?"

...

When ordering takeout becomes a way of life, then all you need to consider is... how to finish it.

Looking at the mountain of takeout boxes and leftovers in front of him, Wang Shuo let out a painful burp and glanced toward Zheng Jun, who was putting on clothes nearby.

"Boss, are you really not going to eat anything else?"

"No." Zheng Jun deftly put on his running shoes. "I suddenly remembered that one shouldn't eat too much before running."

"But I ordered enough for four people..."

"How would I know?" Zheng Jun widened his eyes, looking completely innocent. "I thought the Fourth would come back today, but he didn't; the Third got a call to accompany his girlfriend, leaving only you and me. And since I have to go for a run, well, Second..."

Zheng Jun said earnestly, "Thrift is a virtue, and wasting food is shameful. Try your best to finish it."

Having said that, he left Wang Shuo with a dashing back view and then shut the door without mercy, leaving Wang Shuo alone in a mess of takeout.

Wang Shuo looked at the table full of takeout again, swallowed, sighed, and gave up with difficulty.

If he really finished all this stuff, he'd probably end up in the Hospital.

He tidied up haphazardly, gathering all the food together. Wang Shuo picked up his phone, just about to check today's latest news to see if he could find any clues about his rising fame in the manufacturing circle, but he was interrupted by a call.

It was from Liu Yemei.

Ever since their brief introduction last night, the two had exchanged phone numbers. In Liu Yemei's words, she didn't like using text that lacked temperature and immediacy to express her meaning; she preferred to get straight to the point and contact directly.

In this situation, Wang Shuo was forced to provide his phone number, and he reckoned that even if he hadn't, that girl Chen Xin would have been very happy to help.

"Hello, Assistant Liu."

The position Wang Shuo had arranged for Liu Yemei was General Manager's Assistant.

"General Manager Wang." Liu Yemei's cold, clear voice came through. "I would like to know when you can come to the company?"

"Is something the matter?"

Liu Yemei was silent for a moment. "All the company's affairs are in the preparation stage, and there are some things I hope to discuss with you in person."

Wang Shuo raised his head and thought about it. Although he had Professor Zeng's guarantee that he only needed to let the Old Witch know when he wasn't attending class, this whole thing felt wrong no matter how he thought about it. It would be best for him to obediently attend a few classes for the next two days and lie low for a while, so...

"I estimate I'll be there by the weekend. If there's anything urgent, just give me a call."

"I understand." Liu Yemei replied on the other end of the line, then continued, "Also, regarding the matter of recruitment, I hope to see the resumes of new employees as soon as possible. You are the company's General Manager, so this matter should be handled by you."

Do I have to personally go out to recruit someone? Wang Shuo complained inwardly, but there was no help for it; after all, the company only had two people right now.

"Alright, alright." Wang Shuo nodded and agreed. "I don't have class tomorrow morning, so I can just swing by the job market and take a look."

"By the way, how many people are we looking to recruit now?"

"Shouldn't this be decided by you?"

"Uh..." Wang Shuo felt a wave of awkwardness. He had almost forgotten that he was the company boss; it was up to him to decide how many people to recruit.

"This is your company. The number of new recruits, positions, gender, age range, work experience, education level, and the salary and rank after hiring are all decided by you. I am only responsible for the specific implementation. If you don't want to verify the detailed salary grades, I can do it on your behalf."

"That would be best." Wang Shuo said with a sheepish smile. "Then tell me, what positions should we have?"

Liu Yemei was silent for a long time. Just when Wang Shuo thought the signal had cut off, her voice sounded again.

"For a technology company to operate normally, it needs essential administrative management personnel—that's me; it needs external liaison personnel—that's me; it needs a legal department—I can handle that; it needs a planning team—that's me. For the rest, we are still missing a finance person, a receptionist, and several people for the R&D project team..."

"I'm in the R&D project team!" Wang Shuo finally found his place and hurriedly shouted, "Just me is enough!"

"Then we are only missing a finance person and a receptionist."

"Understood." Wang Shuo rubbed his hands together. "Recruiting people is nothing; it's a piece of cake, leave it to me!"

And just as Wang Shuo was feeling full of ambition, waiting for dawn, Professor Zeng had already rushed to the Dean's office, clutching a stack of A4 paper.
