119: Entering Subspace
"Teacher, when are we departing for the Subspace World?"
A Zhi's eyes gleamed, and he looked at Li Yang with an eager expression, his gaze filled with impatient longing.
"No rush..."
Li Yang calmly waved his hand, a reassuring expression on his face, and slowly said,
"First, tell me about your fleet's strength. As the saying goes, 'know yourself and your enemy, and you will never be defeated.' Understanding the forces we have at hand will allow us to better handle the upcoming mission."
Li Yang knew clearly that his visit this time carried a dual mission.
On one hand, he had to oversee their graduation assessment and ensure their safety. On the other hand, he also had to provide them with necessary assistance, helping them complete the mission as smoothly as possible.
And for him personally, regardless of whether these students ultimately achieved their graduation goals, the mission he received from the Imperial Military Department had to be completed flawlessly. This was related to numerous important mission rewards and his own career development, allowing no room for error.
After all, his mission was only to investigate and occupy the world, not necessarily to help them complete their assessment tasks.
"Fleet strength?"
Wang Gang immediately perked up upon hearing Li Yang's question and said seriously,
"We currently only have twelve planet-class starships allocated by the academy, and a force of 60,000 Imitation Imperial Soldiers."
With that, he meticulously detailed the specifics of the fleet allocated to them by the academy, holding nothing back, describing every detail with utmost clarity.
"Imitation Imperial Soldiers?"
Li Yang was slightly taken aback. This term was somewhat unfamiliar to him, and he couldn't help but show a puzzled expression.
"Beep... Imitation Imperial Soldiers are assembled from unconscious replicas and a smart brain."
As if sensing Li Yang's confusion, the smart brain promptly emitted a crisp notification sound, explaining,
"Because unranked military officers are not allowed to command real Imperial Soldiers, the purpose of Imitation Imperial Soldiers is specifically for unranked probationary Imperial Military Officers to use during missions and for drills. Although they are not real Imperial Soldiers, they can effectively meet mission requirements in terms of combat power and obedience to commands."
"I see. But these Imitation Imperial Soldiers are really quite realistic..."
Thinking of this, Li Yang, out of curiosity, even turned his head to look at an Imitation Imperial Soldier who was intently operating a control panel nearby.
As if sensing someone watching him, the Imitation Imperial Soldier naturally turned his head, met Li Yang's gaze, displayed a perfectly appropriate smile, and then nodded slightly, indicating a friendly gesture towards Li Yang.
His every move was almost indistinguishable from a real Imperial Soldier. If one hadn't known beforehand, it would be difficult to discern that this was merely an imitation composed of a replica and a smart brain.
"Alright, after our discussion just now, I have a good understanding of your situation."
Li Yang's gaze swept over everyone, then he looked at Pal and said calmly,
"Pal, notify the fleet to prepare to enter Subspace."
"Yes!"
Pal immediately responded, then turned and quickly went to relay the order.
As the teacher for the trio's current mission, the command of the entire fleet naturally fell into Li Yang's hands based on the mission arrangements.
At this moment, he bore the heavy responsibility of leading everyone to complete the mission, and every decision he made affected the success or failure of this operation.
"We're finally going in? This is great!"
A Zhi, upon hearing that the graduation assessment could finally begin, flushed with excitement and bounced in place like a child, unable to help but cheer loudly.
His eyes sparkled with excitement, filled with anticipation and curiosity for the mysterious Subspace World he was about to enter.
"Enough! Can't you just settle down!"
Su Xia, completely fed up, frowned and again mercilessly tapped A Zhi lightly on the head. This instantly quieted A Zhi down. He rubbed his head, stuck out his tongue, and said nothing more.
"All starships, attention! Prepare to enter Subspace. Please take protective measures."
Pal transmitted the order through the fleet's communication system, instantly spreading it to every corner of the entire fleet.
Upon hearing the command, the crew members on all starships immediately became busy.
They swiftly activated their respective starship's defense systems according to the established procedures. These defense systems were like a sturdy armor donned by the starships, designed to effectively prevent various unknown dangers during the entry into Subspace.
"Prepare for jump... 3... 2... 1... Jump!"
Li Yang stood at the center of the command console, his gaze fixed on the screen before him, giving the final command.
As this order was given, all starship engines simultaneously emitted a deep, powerful roar, and a strange light shimmered around their hulls.
Immediately after, these starships flickered, disappearing instantly like shooting stars, and steadily entered the mysterious Subspace rift... In a vast, deep, and dark space, it was originally silent, as if time and space had stopped there.
Suddenly, this dead silent space rippled with a strange fluctuation, like a giant stone thrown into a calm lake, with ripples spreading in layers.
In the blink of an eye, a massive fleet, as if appearing out of thin air, emerged prominently within this mysterious space. The lights on the fleet flickered, making them particularly conspicuous in the darkness.
"Is this the interior of Subspace?"
Li Yang gazed at the light screen, his eyes showing a hint of surprise and inquiry.
Beyond the light screen was a pitch-black darkness where one couldn't see their hand in front of their face, completely different from the familiar vast starry sky they were used to.
Here, there were no sparkling stars, no dazzling light of nebulae, and no trace of any planets. It was as if the entire world was enveloped in darkness, so quiet that it made one feel a little uneasy.
"Such a strange space, completely disorienting. Are there really civilizations here?"
Su Xia stared at the darkness before her, unable to help but frown slightly, a hint of worry in her tone.
If there were no civilizations in this mysterious Subspace, then their diligently prepared graduation assessment mission would once again come to naught.
One must know, finding another world suitable as an assessment target in the vast and boundless universe would be incredibly difficult.
"Don't worry."
Seeing this, A Zhi slowly walked up to Su Xia, gently patted her shoulder, trying to help her relax, a carefree expression on his face.
"According to the Empire's data, there are definitely worlds and civilizations in Subspace. Didn't you read the data carefully?"
"Do you want to die?"
Su Xia turned her head, staring blankly at A Zhi, a glint of coldness seemingly flashing in her eyes.
"Uh..."
A Zhi shivered, startled by Su Xia's gaze, and quickly retreated a few steps, widening the distance between himself and Su Xia.
After all, his head was still throbbing faintly from Su Xia's previous "tapping."
"Violent woman..."
A Zhi mumbled quietly, his voice as low as a mosquito's buzz, afraid of being heard by Su Xia.
"What did you say?"
Su Xia keenly caught A Zhi's whisper, her gaze shooting back at him.
"N-nothing, haha."
A Zhi chuckled awkwardly, quickly waving his hand in denial, secretly relieved that he hadn't been heard clearly.
