241: Planet Underground

What Li Yang didn't expect was that this seemingly impossible attempt actually succeeded.

The device inside the gene extractor began to operate rapidly, emitting a faint “humming” sound, like a hungry little beast, constantly twitching, greedily absorbing genetic material from the flesh and blood ground.

After a while, with a crisp “click” sound, the tail of the gene extractor slowly opened, and a capsule-sized transparent container appeared before everyone's eyes.

Inside the container, a light red liquid gently swayed; that was the successfully extracted gene sample.

Seeing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Li Yang's eyes, and he quickly and carefully put away the capsule containing the crucial sample.

No matter what, they had successfully obtained the first gene sample in this mission full of unknowns and challenges, which was undoubtedly a good start.

“Let's go. Let's explore around and see if there are any buildings or anything on this planet.”

Li Yang made a decisive decision, issuing an order to his Squad members, and at the same time, he was the first to activate his battle armor's flight mode.

The other Team Members, seeing this, also activated their flight modes and followed closely behind Li Yang, flying towards the distance.

They all knew that this mission was to be carried out in Squad mode, and a group of people absolutely could not act together.

After all, this mysterious Flesh and Blood Planet was full of dangers. If everyone was concentrated in one place, once they encountered some huge danger, they could easily be wiped out by the enemy, leading to the entire mission failing.

However, after flying for several hours in the sky, Li Yang and the Squad members couldn't help but show surprise.

During this time, as far as their eyes could see, apart from the nauseating flesh and blood ground, they found no trace of any buildings.

Moreover, they hadn't even seen any Blood People or other Flesh and Blood Creatures that they had encountered on the starship before.

The entire planet seemed to have fallen into a deathly silence; apart from the undulating flesh and blood ground beneath their feet, there seemed to be no other life.

“Li Yang, three kilometers ahead, I've scanned a... protrusion?”

Hill frowned slightly, his eyes fixed on the information displayed on the light screen inside his helmet, his tone carrying a hint of doubt, and he couldn't help but speak.

After all, during their previous flight, all they had seen was flat flesh and blood ground. Now that such a unique “protrusion” suddenly appeared, everyone naturally wouldn't easily let go of this clue, and immediately adjusted their flight direction without hesitation, flying rapidly towards the target location.

When they finally arrived at their destination, the sight before them made everyone pause.

A protrusion, about 3.4 meters above the ground, appeared so abruptly and strangely on this flat flesh and blood ground.

It stood silently, emitting an indescribably peculiar aura.

“What exactly is this thing?”

Hill's eyes were full of curiosity as he slowly approached the mass of flesh and blood.

He carefully reached out and lightly poked the seemingly soft flesh and blood.

The moment his finger touched it, it was as if some unknown mechanism had been triggered. The mass of flesh and blood began to tremble violently, like a giant beast that had been disturbed.

At the same time, the ground beneath their feet also trembled, the vibration coming from their soles, growing stronger and stronger.

“What happened? Is it an earthquake?”

Everyone was startled, and before they could think deeply, they saw the protruding flesh and blood slowly separate, like two giant lips, slowly splitting open, revealing a narrow and deep small opening.

Through this opening, they could vaguely see that the other side seemed to lead underground, dark and profound, as if hiding endless secrets.

“Is this... an underground entrance?”

Li Yang's eyes widened, looking at the suddenly appearing opening in disbelief, his face full of surprise.

Recalling their fruitless search for the past few hours, he suddenly realized that it was no wonder they couldn't find any traces of buildings or creatures on the surface; they were all hidden beneath the planet.

“What should we do? Everyone, should we go in?”

Li Yang turned to look at the other members of the Squad, his gaze inquiring, trying to discern their thoughts from their expressions.

After all, entering this unknown underground space was undoubtedly full of danger and uncertainty.

“Of course, we have to go in! Otherwise, how will we complete our mission?”

Hai An's eyes lit up with excitement, and he said impatiently.

He had always been full of curiosity for the unknown, and such an opportunity was like a treasure calling to him.

The other few also nodded, agreeing with Hai An's idea.

They knew very well that to complete this assessment mission, they couldn't miss any possible clues, and even if there was a dragon's den and a tiger's lair ahead, they had to bravely move forward.

“Alright, since everyone agrees, then let's go in and find out...”

Li Yang's expression was solemn, and his gaze was firm as he looked at the mysterious opening.

He squatted slightly, took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and then he unhesitatingly squeezed in.

As soon as he entered, Li Yang felt a strong sense of oppression.

The space inside was not as spacious as he had previously imagined; instead, it was extremely cramped.

The flesh and blood on both sides seemed to be conscious, pressing tightly against him, forcing him to move forward slowly like a snail.

This feeling was like being sandwiched between two huge and soft pieces of meat, and every inch of progress required a great deal of effort.

Seeing Li Yang enter smoothly, Hill, Vivienne, Hai An, and Guttri exchanged glances. Although there was a hint of worry in their eyes, there was more determination.

They followed closely behind Li Yang, one by one, squeezing into the opening.

In the narrow passage, the figures of the few people moved with difficulty in the pitch-black environment, only able to hear heavy breathing and the occasional sound of battle armor rubbing against flesh and blood.

Thus, the few people slowly advanced for more than half an hour in this suffocatingly narrow passage, like trapped beasts in a cage.

Every second seemed incredibly long; time itself slowed down here.

Suddenly, Li Yang felt his feet lose ground, and he fell downwards without warning.

His heart skipped a beat, but fortunately, the battle armor's protection mechanism quickly activated.

After a slight sensation of weightlessness, he landed steadily on the ground.

“Be careful, everyone. I'm out of that passage. I fell directly from the ceiling.”

Li Yang quickly said into the communication device.

After a while, Hill and the others also fell one by one from the opening where Li Yang had descended.

“Finally, we're here. It feels like anyone with claustrophobia going in there would probably go crazy in no time.”

Vivienne patted her chest with lingering fear, taking a deep breath, trying to dispel the oppressive feeling in her heart.

“Everyone, it seems we have entered the main base of this Flesh and Blood Planet...”
