240: Set foot on the flesh and blood planet

However, the experienced 73rd Army already had countermeasures for these attack methods of the Flesh and Blood starship.

In an instant, a large shield glowing with a faint blue light appeared before everyone's eyes.

This shield emitted a mysterious and soft glow, like a giant blue dome, completely and tightly enveloping the entire 73rd Army fleet, including the assessment starship Li Yang was on.

The shield's surface rippled slightly, a layer of agile water waves, tough and stable under the impact of energy.

The energy, spewing forth like a tide, crashed against the shield, emitting dull thuds and splashing brilliant sparks.

But no matter how frantically the Flesh and Blood starship attacked, the blue-glowing shield remained as steady as Mount Tai, firmly resisting all attacks; the energy simply could not penetrate this indestructible barrier.

Immediately after, the Imperial starship launched its counterattack.

For a moment, light flashed in the universe, and large swathes of attacks rained down on the Flesh and Blood starship.

These attack methods were diverse, including scorching energy beams directly fired and spatial weapons subtly activated, twisting the surrounding space to launch a fatal blow at the Flesh and Blood starship.

Li Yang intently watched the battlefield, witnessing a Flesh and Blood starship being directly hit by a massive energy beam.

The beam, like a giant sharp blade, instantly tore a huge gash in the starship; the entire starship seemed to have been struck by a giant's fist, revealing a shocking large hole.

If this were a normal starship, suffering such heavy damage would undoubtedly trigger a violent explosion, reducing it to ashes in a blaze of fire.

However, to everyone's astonishment, this Flesh and Blood starship did not explode and disintegrate as expected.

It began to heal rapidly at an incredible speed, just like the Devourer Li Yang had encountered before.

The flesh and blood at the wound seemed alive, rapidly wriggling and growing, filling the wound at a visible speed, as if the heavy damage it had just suffered was merely an illusory nightmare.

"Even a starship possesses this healing and regeneration ability... it's terrifying!"

Li Yang couldn't help but gasp, a deep shock surging in his heart.

Like the Devourers, these Flesh and Blood starships possess powerful self-healing abilities; to truly eliminate them, one must deliver a destructive blow all at once, otherwise, any number of attacks would be futile, as they would eventually heal and regenerate, rejoining the battle.

However, the 73rd Army's fleet did not increase its firepower to completely eliminate these Flesh and Blood starships because of this.

After all, their mission was clear and singular: to escort the assessment starship carrying the Students safely to the Flesh and Blood Planet, not to completely destroy these alien starships.

To be honest, with the current firepower of this fleet, if they were to annihilate all Flesh and Blood starships, they would need to use large-scale heavy weapons; otherwise, the existing attack intensity would be far from enough.

Under the overwhelming offensive of the 73rd Army's immense firepower, dazzling energy beams, like dense meteors, streaked through the darkness of the universe, pouring down on the Flesh and Blood fleet.

Accompanied by deafening roars, energy and Flesh and Blood starships collided violently, erupting in brilliant and deadly sparks.

In this torrential attack, the 73rd Army, relying on its powerful firepower, managed to tear open a narrow but passable gap in the seemingly impenetrable Flesh and Blood fleet.

Li Yang keenly seized this fleeting opportunity, his hands swiftly manipulating the starship's control panel.

The starship rapidly rushed towards the breach amidst the flying gunfire.

Under the tight cover of the 73rd Army's steel-like defensive line, the starship successfully broke through the Flesh and Blood fleet's defenses and plunged into the mysterious and dense atmosphere of the Flesh and Blood Planet.

Strangely, those Flesh and Blood starships that had been relentlessly pursuing suddenly stopped their chase the moment the starship entered the atmosphere, as if blocked by some invisible force.

They merely continued their fierce entanglement with the 73rd Army in the starry sky outside the atmosphere, with energy beams crisscrossing, illuminating this cosmic space as if it were daytime.

When the starship landed steadily on the surface of the Flesh and Blood Planet, accompanied by a slight tremor, the hatch slowly opened with a "hissing" sound.

All the Students, who had been on high alert, swiftly disembarked like arrows from a bow, their eyes vigilant, weapons gripped tightly in their hands, instantly fanning out to cautiously observe their surroundings.

After all the Students had safely left the starship, the starship, having completed its escort mission, slowly started up with a low roar.

Its engines spewed out scorching exhaust flames, illuminating the surrounding darkness.

Under the strong cover of the 73rd Army fleet, the starship gradually rose from the ground and flew towards the outer atmosphere, eventually retreating successfully and disappearing into the vast universe.

And those Flesh and Blood starships that had lost their attack target did not turn their firepower towards the Students on the planet.

They floated quietly in the starry sky like ghosts, as if they had lost the desire to attack.

As time passed, the surface of the entire starship gradually changed, becoming darker and darker, slowly merging with the deep, boundless dark starry sky, hiding in the shadows of the universe, making their existence difficult to detect, leaving behind only a seemingly calm yet crisis-ridden cosmic space.

"Wow, this is too disgusting!"

When the Students stepped onto this Flesh and Blood Planet, their feet touching the sticky, soft ground, they couldn't help but exclaim in disgust.

Every step felt like treading on a giant, trembling piece of raw meat; the sensation underfoot was both strange and nauseating, feeling as if unknown slime could seep out from between their toes at any moment.

"What a magical and bizarre civilization. I wonder if this gene extractor can successfully extract their genes..."

Li Yang muttered to himself, slowly squatting down with intense curiosity.

He reached out and gently stroked the flesh and blood ground beneath his feet, which seemed to squirm with life; the touch was slippery and warm, making him frown slightly, but the desire for exploration in his eyes did not diminish in the slightest.

After a moment of thought, Li Yang decisively pulled out a gene extractor from his waist.

The extractor gleamed with a metallic luster in the dim light; he gripped it tightly, aimed it at the ground, and then thrust it in forcefully.
