736: Chapter 736 The Submission of the Lianxing Civilization (Part 1)
He nodded slightly and then issued a command to Pal beside him in a deep voice. His tone was crisp and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.
“This Lianxing Civilization is weak; there's no need to worry too much. Just deploy a single battalion to stay behind. They will be responsible for taking over their Star Domain, controlling their starships and various affairs, and handling the pacification and reorganization work after the submission.
Notify all other units to cease their stationary state, organize their formations, and continue along the original route toward the depths of the unknown Star Domain. Do not delay the overall progress of the pioneer expedition for such a low-level civilization.”
Li Yang had his own plans. This pioneer expedition was a long and arduous journey, with broader Star Domains and richer resources waiting to be explored ahead. There was no need to waste too much time and energy on a third-level civilization.
Moreover, with the combat power of their Pioneer Army, a single battalion was more than enough to deal with this defenseless low-level civilization. Even if the other party regretted it and wanted to rebel in the future, they could easily suppress them; there was nothing to fear at all.
“Yes!”
Pal immediately stood at attention and saluted, responding loudly. He then turned to the communication console and quickly relayed Li Yang's orders, arranging the handover for the stay-behind battalion while issuing instructions to the entire pioneer fleet to continue forward.
Soon, orderly responses echoed through the fleet's communication channels. The massive starship formation, which had been stationary at the edge of the Star Domain, slowly adjusted its array. Engines burst forth with a spectral blue light once more as they initiated a spatial jump.
Only a small battalion-level fleet remained, stationed on the outskirts of the Lianxing Civilization's Star Domain to begin the takeover. The pioneer expedition continued.
...
Watching the massive fleet leave without stopping, leaving only a small force of starships stationed outside the Star Domain, the Six-legged creature slumped on the ground was filled with confusion, its eyes full of doubt.
It had assumed that even if the other party accepted their submission, they would send a large number of troops to take control or even take it hostage. However, this nonchalant attitude left it baffled and feeling a faint sense of unease deep down.
But this confusion didn't last long. In the next second, a bizarre change suddenly occurred.
Inside the Command Ship's cabin where it was located, the air suddenly rippled with strange distortions. Following that, several pitch-black, deep spatial rifts appeared out of thin air without warning. The edges of the rifts shimmered with a faint spatial energy, exuding a mysterious and terrifying power. The Lianxing Civilization staff in the cabin all cried out in shock, retreating repeatedly with faces full of terror.
Before anyone could react, several tall and upright Xili Empire Soldiers wearing uniform battle armor stepped out of the spatial rifts with steady paces. Holding energy guns, their expressions were cold and stern, and they radiated the blood-and-iron aura of battle-hardened veterans. In a few moments, they had firmly seized control of the Command Ship's core area, their movements neat and efficient, displaying the demeanor of elites.
The leader was a Non-commissioned Officer. His gaze swept over the Six-legged creature slumped on the floor, and his voice was cold and majestic, carrying an unquestionable pressure.
“Since you have chosen to submit to the Xili Empire, you are now a subsidiary civilization of the Empire. You had better put away all thoughts you shouldn't have, stay in your place, and never harbor thoughts of rebellion or luck. Now, return to your Home Planet immediately and notify all members of your civilization to obediently follow the Empire's arrangements and cooperate with the subsequent takeover and reorganization. If anyone dares to defy us, they will face the consequences!”
As his voice fell, the officer didn't hesitate. He raised his hand and gave a light wave, and a new spatial rift opened before him. He led the Imperial Soldiers back into the rift. Within an instant, the spatial rift slowly closed and vanished completely, as if it had never existed, leaving behind only the stunned members of the Lianxing Civilization.
The Six-legged creature stood frozen on the spot, unable to hide the shock and awe on its face. Its compound eyes were wide open and its mouth gaped; it couldn't come to its senses for a long time.
It had lived for hundreds of years and had been in charge of the Lianxing Civilization for many years, witnessing countless interstellar wonders, but it had never seen such an inconceivable ability.
Tearing through space at will and traveling through it out of thin air—such methods had already surpassed its understanding of third and fourth-level civilizations.
After a long time, it suddenly snapped out of it. A bone-chilling cold and a intense sense of relief flooded its heart, its back already drenched in cold sweat.
It couldn't help but feel a lingering fear in its heart, constantly muttering to itself.
“Thank goodness, thank goodness I didn't choose to resist on an impulse. Otherwise, with our pitiful combat power, we wouldn't even have the right to fight back against such an Advanced civilization; we would have been completely wiped out in an instant. I never imagined that the Empire's ordinary Soldiers could walk through space at will. Just what kind of terrifying Advanced civilization is this? Their strength is simply unfathomable!”
At this moment, the last trace of hesitation and reluctance in its heart completely dissipated, replaced by total submission and awe. It no longer dared to harbor any ulterior motives.
Supporting its still-weak legs, it stood up, straightened its appearance, and rushed back to the Home Planet of the Lianxing Civilization.
As soon as it landed, it used its status as one of the rulers of the Lianxing Civilization to issue a global announcement to all planets and settlements. In the most solemn tone, it announced that the Lianxing Civilization had officially submitted to the Xili Empire, would be a subsidiary of the Empire forever, would follow all Imperial instructions, and would never rebel.
Every city and settlement on the Home Planet was flooded by the sudden announcement of submission. The steady and solemn voice of the Six-legged creature echoed through the global communication channels.
But as soon as the announcement was released, the citizens of the entire civilization exploded into an uproar. Discussions broke out everywhere in the streets and interstellar residences, with various emotions clashing.
“What on earth is going on? Our Lianxing Civilization was doing fine. Why did we suddenly announce our submission? There wasn't even a war. On what basis?”
A young clerk stood on the street, face full of confusion, his tone filled with bewilderment.
“Xili Empire? This name sounds like it carries an aura of danger. Even the name is so overbearing. If they can make us submit without even wanting to fight, can they be anything good?”
An old man nearby frowned, stroking his chin with a tentacle, his eyes full of wariness.
“If they want to plunder our resources and enslave our people in the future, then our Lianxing Civilization is finished!”
“What are you high-level officials thinking? How can a single sentence decide the fate of the entire civilization? Why should we submit to a civilization we've never even heard of!”
Even more radical citizens stood in public squares, raising their arms and shouting. Their voices were full of anger and reluctance, drawing echoes from the surrounding sympathizers.
“We must resist! We can't just let people push us around!”
As the discussions grew more heated, the citizens of the Lianxing Civilization quickly split into three distinct factions.
