19: New tasks

“Imperial Guard Division!”

Upon hearing the name from the other end of the communication, all five of them were shocked. How did they get in touch with the Guard Division?

“Hello, it’s like this: our spaceship crashed, and we’re stranded on a planet.”

Who cared who it was? They had finally contacted the outside world, and they absolutely couldn’t miss this rare opportunity.

“I see. Please tell me your Imperial Citizen information, and we will send someone to rescue you.”

“Uh… we are Explorers; we don’t have Imperial Citizen status.”

Pierre said awkwardly.

“Not Imperial Citizens? I apologize, but according to the Xili Empire Guard Division regulations, we are not obligated to help those who are not Imperial Citizens. Please contact your Explorer Alliance…”

Seeing that the Guard Division personnel were about to hang up, Owen quickly shouted loudly.

“We discovered a never-before-seen Tier 1 xuanhuan civilization planet. We were originally going to report it to the Empire, but our spaceship was destroyed, which is why we’re stranded here.”

After Owen finished speaking, everyone stared intently at Pierre’s helmet, terrified that this hard-won opportunity would slip away.

After all, such situations were usually handled by the Imperial Bureau of Territory, and the Guard Division might genuinely not bother with them.

Just as the group grew increasingly nervous, a voice came from the helmet again.

“To be honest, this matter isn’t under our Guard Division’s jurisdiction… However, since you were the first to discover the planet, I am now representing the Xili Empire to ask if you are willing to forgo the discovery reward, report the planet’s information, and assist the Empire in incorporating the planet into Imperial territory.”

After all, if the planet belonged to the Empire, then their Guard Division could still be somewhat involved in the matter.

Seeing that the Guard Division personnel were willing to help them, the group finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly expressed their willingness to forgo the reward and report the planet’s information.

But at present, they were completely unable to report all the information collected by the battle armor, because the battle armor had completely run out of energy. If it weren’t for that little device Pierre had fiddled with earlier, which could restore a tiny bit of energy, they wouldn’t even have had the energy to contact the outside world.

Regarding this, the Explorer Squad could only first send the planet’s coordinates to the Guard Division, intending to hand over the detailed intelligence to the arriving personnel once the Imperial personnel arrived… On the other side, looking at the intelligence transmitted by the smart computer, Martin seemed to be lost in thought.

“Tier 1 xuanhuan civilization… It is indeed a good planet. It just so happens that I can give this mission to Brother Li Yang. I’m sure he’ll be grateful to me, ha ha ha.”

When the Guard Division reported the situation, Martin, as a lieutenant colonel, also learned of the news and directly used his authority to assign this mission to Li Yang.

At the same time, Li Yang, on Blue Star, suddenly received a notification from the system.

“Beep… You have a new mission, please check it!”

“No… why does it sound like a food delivery rider receiving an order…”

Li Yang couldn’t help but frown.

“Beep… Lieutenant Li Yang, the Empire has issued you a new mission directive. Please accept it.”

Although it still sounded a bit strange, never mind, it was important to see what the mission was first.

“xuanhuan civilization? Planet? Me?”

After briefly browsing the specifics of the mission, Li Yang immediately felt overwhelmed. Although it was only a Tier 1 civilization, it was a xuanhuan civilization after all—the kind with magic, battle qi, and such existences.

Moreover, the mission also required him to first rescue the Explorer Squad on that planet, report the intelligence to the Empire, and then decide on subsequent mission arrangements based on that intelligence.

However, on second thought, it was just rescuing a Squad. Even if it was a xuanhuan civilization, there shouldn’t be any unexpected situations.

Just as Li Yang was about to call Pal over, a communication request came through.

“Beep… Lieutenant Colonel Martin is requesting a call…”

“Martin? He’s looking for me right after I received the mission. Could it be that he really arranged this mission? System, accept the call.”

“Hey, Brother Li Yang, did you receive that mission?”

As soon as the call connected, Martin’s holographic projection instantly appeared before Li Yang, and he asked with a joyful expression.

“Mm, just received it. Did you arrange it?”

Li Yang had long grown accustomed to these sudden holographic projections. He looked at Martin with a calm expression.

“That’s right, I used my authority to get this mission specifically for you from the Imperial Guard Division. Pretty decent of me, right?”

Hearing this, Li Yang looked at Martin helplessly. After all that, it really was him. To be able to get a mission from the Imperial Guard Division… It could only be said that this lieutenant colonel’s authority was truly quite extensive.

“Brother Martin, can you tell me how powerful a Tier 1 xuanhuan civilization really is? So I can make some preparations beforehand.”

Looking at the serious-faced Li Yang, Martin first paused for a moment, then suddenly burst out laughing.

“Hahaha, Brother Li Yang, you’re not scared by the name ‘xuanhuan civilization,’ are you?”

Watching Martin laugh heartily, Li Yang was completely bewildered. What was going on? Had he overthought it?

“xuanhuan civilizations are indeed somewhat tricky, but based on the basic intelligence provided by that Explorer Squad this time, it’s merely a Tier 1 civilization. Their attack methods can’t even break your fleet’s energy shield.”

Saying that, Martin slowly walked in front of Li Yang, a mysterious expression on his face.

“To put it plainly, this mission, as it stands, is for you to earn military merit and claim rewards. Of course, I’m not clear about the subsequent mission arrangements; we’ll have to wait for the Imperial high-level officials to make a decision, and then we’ll see based on the specific circumstances. If it truly poses a danger to you, I’ll find a way to help you cancel this mission.”

Looking at Martin’s confident and all-encompassing demeanor, Li Yang truly felt the sensation of being protected at this moment—it was… truly awesome!

As for why Martin was so wholeheartedly helping him, Li Yang could probably guess: it was nothing more than seeing him as a human officer with immense potential, hoping that once his rank rose, he could pull him up.

However, since Martin was so willing to invest in him, then when he became successful, he would definitely remember to pull Martin up too.

“Alright, I understand. I will assemble the fleet and go there.”

After the two continued to chat for a few more minutes, they ended the call.

After ending the call, Li Yang immediately summoned Pal and the personnel from the Blue Star Management Department.

Upon learning that Li Yang needed to carry out a mission, the people from the Blue Star Management Department all showed him great concern and care.

After arranging the subsequent work for Blue Star, Li Yang dismissed the people from the Blue Star Management Department.

“Pal, assemble the fleet and head to the mission coordinates!”

“Yes!”
