84: Friendly communication
Li Yang and Anno quietly stayed in the office, patiently waiting for the Chief Justice to arrive.
"Oh dear, I'm late, my apologies, my apologies."
About ten minutes later, a middle-aged man in a crisp Imperial uniform hurried in, pushing open the door, his face full of apologies, repeatedly saying he was sorry.
"It's fine, please have a seat, Chief Justice Cheng Quan."
Anno said.
Seeing this, Cheng Quan quickly sat down in the designated seat. It was then that he noticed there was another person beside Anno, and he appeared to be human.
"May I ask who you are?"
Cheng Quan asked, full of doubt.
One must know that Anno's father was his superior's superior. A human who could sit beside Anno now must not be a simple person.
"Allow me to introduce him. This is the Galactic Special Inspector, and also the supreme administrator of Blue Star."
Anno introduced.
"Hello, my name is Li Yang."
As he spoke, Li Yang slowly stood up, extended his hand, and smiled warmly to show friendliness.
"Hello, hello, so it's Inspector Li! I've long heard of your great name. Seeing you today, you truly are an extraordinary talent!"
Seeing that the human before him was actually the mysterious Inspector, Cheng Quan dared not show any neglect. He quickly stood up in awe, bent over, and tightly shook Li Yang's hand, his face full of excitement.
One must know that they had previously heard that a special inspector had been appointed in the Milky Way Galaxy, but these Imperial Officials in the Solar System had no way of knowing who exactly had been appointed to the position of Inspector.
He never expected to meet him here today. And regarding Li Yang, he had also heard that this person already held a position in the Imperial Military Department. Now, with the addition of the Inspector position, wouldn't that be military-political integration?
Thinking of this, Cheng Quan's smile grew even brighter. To personally get to know such an important figure in his lifetime was truly a stroke of immense luck.
"Alright, we called you here because we need your help with something."
Seeing Cheng Quan still smiling foolishly, Anno quickly interrupted him.
"Oh, oh, my apologies. I got a bit too excited and was a bit presumptuous."
Cheng Quan came back to his senses and quickly apologized.
"It's fine, it's fine."
Li Yang, however, seemed quite magnanimous and unconcerned. After all, the more the other party behaved this way, the more it indicated that the matter might be easier to resolve.
"The situation is like this..."
Seeing both of them sit down again, Anno recounted the events Li Yang had described earlier to Cheng Quan, exactly as they happened.
"An Imperial Official publicly assaulting an Imperial Citizen... This matter is indeed quite tricky. Too many people witnessed it... After all, isn't the duty of us Imperial Officials to serve Imperial Citizens wholeheartedly?"
After hearing the entire course of events, Cheng Quan's expression instantly became solemn, his brow furrowed.
"Oh my, where did this 'righteous official' come from?"
Seeing this, Anno said with a sarcastic, mocking tone.
In the Empire, the law of the jungle was the mainstream rule. In this vast and endless universe, who would still play along with such an unrealistic joke as 'everyone is equal'?
Seeing Anno mock him so mercilessly, Cheng Quan could only offer an awkward, accompanying smile.
Was the matter truly difficult to handle? Of course not. It was just that he hadn't gained any benefit from this matter.
Because he got to know Li Yang through Anno, even if the matter was resolved, Li Yang would not thank him, but rather Anno.
"Chief Justice Cheng, although my subordinate was indeed a bit reckless in his actions, it was the other party who struck first, wasn't it?"
Li Yang's gaze was profound, and he naturally understood Cheng Quan's little thoughts.
"That's true. Since Inspector Li has said so, however you say to judge, that's how I'll judge!"
Seeing Li Yang personally speak, Cheng Quan quickly stated his position. The matter was easy to handle, because Li Yang had spoken personally, not Anno. There was a fundamental difference between the two.
"Ah, that's right! This is our just and strict Chief Justice Cheng, haha."
Seeing Cheng Quan willing to help, Anno also quickly smiled broadly, his face full of mirth.
"Hahaha, however, Chief Justice Cheng, I still need to solemnly remind you that although the other side struck first, how this case is ultimately judged... must still strictly follow the basis of Imperial law..."
Li Yang's expression was serious as he quietly reminded him.
After all, as an Inspector, he absolutely could not have even a tiny blemish on his record. Of course, if the actions complied with Imperial law, it would naturally not be considered a blemish.
"Hahaha, don't worry. To ensure your subordinate wins the case, I naturally have a way to win it. The right to interpret Imperial legal provisions rests with me..."
Hearing this, Li Yang naturally felt at ease. After all, everyone present was extremely shrewd. If they couldn't even handle such a small matter, then this position would have been held in vain.
"Um... Inspector Li, my son... he's a Squad leader in that Guard Division detachment. I heard the assessment is starting soon, and I was thinking of having him become the... Deputy Detachment Commander. What do you think?"
Cheng Quan said with a fawning, ingratiating smile.
Cheng Quan naturally wouldn't help for free. He also had something he needed Li Yang's help with, especially Li Yang's position, which happened to allow him to speak on behalf of the Guard Division. He had also heard that Li Yang was on the list of examiners for this assessment.
"Deputy Detachment Commander? Shouldn't it be Detachment Commander?"
Li Yang responded with a faint smile, calm and composed.
"Ah... Detachment Commander? Inspector Li, you've truly given me a huge surprise!"
Cheng Quan didn't react at first, but after a moment, he came to his senses and excitedly picked up the wine glass on the table to toast Li Yang.
"Hahaha, come, come, since the matter has been decided, let's celebrate properly."
Seeing this, Anno also quickly raised his wine glass to toast Li Yang. Li Yang, unhurried and composed, picked up his own glass and accepted their respect.
Just like that, in this short span of time, the issue on the court's side was already resolved.
Li Yang not only successfully resolved the court matter but also got to know the chief justice of the Solar System Imperial Court through Anno. The price he paid was merely to give Cheng Quan's son a little consideration during the assessment.
Compared to the input and output, one could only say the cost-effectiveness was extremely high.
After all, during the assessment, he would certainly promote his own subordinates, and giving special consideration to Cheng Quan's son meant that Cheng Quan's faction also naturally joined his own power bloc.
Now, only the issue with the Guard Division remained to be dealt with urgently. After a brief exchange of pleasantries with Anno and Cheng Quan, Li Yang decisively ended the call and sent a call request to the Solar System Guard Division.
"This is the Solar System Guard Division Headquarters. How may I help you?"
"I am Galactic Special Inspector Li Yang. I have come specifically to handle the Blue Star brawl incident. I hope to enable holographic projection."
"Ah, Inspector Li. Very well, holographic projection access has been enabled for you."
One must know that for special departments or military departments like these, due to the high importance placed on information security, holographic projection functionality is usually strictly prohibited.
