135: Episode 135: The Train That Never Stops (Part 4)

With those anomalies resolved, in the carriage, An Ke kept glancing at Qian Ye time and time again.

"Is there a problem?"

An Ke looked up and met Qian Ye's eyes, stunned for a moment. She seemed to see red light flowing in her eyes, but upon closer inspection, it felt like an illusion.

"Those just now..." An Ke struggled, not knowing how so many Ghost Infants could have appeared when this was only the beginning.

Thinking about what lay ahead, she was filled with unease.

Qian Ye recalled the announcement from the loudspeaker about the arriving stop, Station Name. Was that why so many Ghost Infants appeared?

Qian Ye rested her chin on her hand and looked outside. At this moment, the view beyond the window was once again an unfathomable darkness, where countless black shadows seemed to be struggling.

Within that darkness, a woman appeared, faintly depicting the period of an infant from birth to the time it learns to crawl.

Qian Ye watched this scene, wondering what it was supposed to convey.

"Station Name is arriving soon. Passengers, please prepare your tickets for inspection. The train will depart in ten minutes."

The loudspeaker on the train sounded again, and the train slowed to a stop. The moment it stopped, the darkness outside faded, revealing a dim sky where the surrounding environment was still visible.

The moment the train doors opened, noise came from the entrance. New passengers arrived, and An Ke was very pleased to see they appeared to be human as well. She went to the entrance and greeted them with a smile, "Hi, are you also..."

The next instant, upon seeing their lower bodies, the smile on her lips froze.

Qian Ye raised an eyebrow, watching her expression with a smirk. Her position allowed her to see their entire bodies.

Their upper bodies looked like humans, wearing normal clothing, but their lower parts were indescribable—they were entirely withered vines, twisted beyond belief.

A few branches split off to act as legs for walking.

An Ke stiffened her face and stepped aside. Watching their strange gait, her expression collapsed the moment they passed.

They randomly found seats. An Ke noticed one sitting right next to her, and her face changed instantly.

She stared at Qian Ye with a look of appeal. Qian Ye grinned and tilted her head. An Ke followed her gaze and saw that on either side of where Qian Ye sat, there was a withered vine person.

Qian Ye smiled slightly, "Switch, then~"

An Ke forced a smile, feeling conflicted.

"If you don't sit in this seat, it belongs to me." A gloomy voice suddenly rang out, coming from the passenger beside An Ke's seat.

An Ke gritted her teeth, seeing his malicious expression; he seemed to be hoping she wouldn't sit down. She took a breath and chose to bite the bullet and sit.

The train is about to depart. Passengers, please prepare for ticket inspection. Next stop, Youxueling Station.

Before long, the familiar Train Conductor appeared again.

This time, his expression upon seeing Qian Ye and the others seemed excited and agitated.

"Ticket inspection."

The three passengers who had boarded honestly presented their tickets. Looking closely, those three passengers were trembling when facing the Train Conductor. Qian Ye saw this and narrowed her eyes.

Seeing them quickly take out their tickets as if afraid that taking too long would cause trouble, Qian Ye stared at the tickets, her eyes flickering. So that was it.

The Train Conductor took the tickets and stamped them. The three passengers successfully passed inspection one by one, and Qian Ye clearly felt the person beside her breathe a sigh of relief.

After checking their tickets, the Train Conductor didn't leave. Instead, he looked at Qian Ye with a smile, "This passenger, where is your ticket?"

"Well, let me kindly remind you that every station here requires ticket inspection."

"You should have bought a ticket, right?"

"What ticket?" An Ke widened her eyes.

As soon as An Ke said this, Qian Ye felt the aura of the Train Conductor change. He became excited, his entire face suddenly twisted, and he stared fixedly at An Ke.

"This passenger, ticket evasion will be punished, but..."

The Train Conductor's eyes bulged out entirely, staring at An Ke. His face was so twisted that his features were indistinguishable, and his tone was seductive, "As long as..."

"As long as you give me your childhood memories, you can exchange them for a ticket for this station~"

"Hehe, a very good trade, right?"

The Train Conductor stared at An Ke with excited eyes, awaiting her answer.

An Ke's heart tightened, and she bit her lip. Her intuition told her it was a trap, but if she didn't give it to him, she currently had no ticket for this station.

She didn't know how many stops were left on this journey, and how to obtain the tickets was the main point.

"Then, then I want to know, will losing my memories have any effect on me..."

"How could it have any effect? Let me have you recall now: can you still remember your memories from when you were an infant?"

"That is impossible. Basically no one remembers their own infancy, right?" The Train Conductor cajoled her like this.

"This passenger, what is your choice?" The Train Conductor looked at Qian Ye again, looking excited, his fingers gesticulating, expecting her next move.

Qian Ye stared into his eyes, looking serious, "You are really ugly."

"Next time, I hope for a different ticket inspector. It's too much of an eyesore. Is it that easy to be selected as a Train Conductor?"

"If someone like you can become a Train Conductor, what if you scare the passengers?"

"Look, you've scared them."

Qian Ye pointed at the withered vine people who had boarded later. The Train Conductor's gaze swept over them, and they trembled all over.

Qian Ye had an even more knowing attitude.

The Train Conductor's face twisted. Never had a passenger dared to call him ugly. "I have decided for you. You are only suited to stay here and will never be able to leave."

As he spoke, his hand transformed into a mass of black mist and attacked Qian Ye, continuously expanding to surround her completely. He was trembling all over; this was because of excitement.

The next instant, the black mist vanished. He saw Qian Ye standing there, completely unharmed, and his face became ferocious, "How is this possible!"

An Ke didn't understand what the big boss was doing or why she needed to provoke him.

The next instant, something was suddenly thrown from the opposite side. An Ke instinctively caught it, and upon looking, it was...

"A ticket!"

Her exclamation successfully attracted the Train Conductor's attention. He saw the ticket in her hand, and his eyes bulged out even further, "Where did you get that ticket?"

An Ke gripped the ticket tightly and looked at Qian Ye, but unfortunately, she couldn't discern any expression. The Train Conductor snatched the ticket from her hand, flipped it open, and saw it was indeed the ticket for this station, complete with an image of the Station Name.

His gaze instantly turned to Qian Ye, "It was you!"

But... why would she give it to her?

"The ticket is correct, right."

Clearly, Qian Ye didn't want to explain. Despite the Train Conductor not wanting to admit it, her words were true; the ticket was indeed genuine.

Qian Ye grinned, watching his flustered and exasperated appearance, radiating an air of amusement.

The next instant, the Train Conductor leaned close to Qian Ye, his eyes darting left and right, "Then, this passenger, where is your ticket?"

"If you don't get your ticket inspected soon, you might..." he threatened in a low voice.

Qian Ye shrugged, "It's just memories, it doesn't matter. Just take them."

Upon hearing this, the Train Conductor's eyes lit up, and he appeared exceptionally excited, "Respected passenger, I wish you a pleasant journey."

He returned to normal, radiating a lighthearted aura.

Qian Ye watched him slowly walk away, a strange smile on her lips, murmuring to herself, "As long as you can actually take them~"
