192: Chapter 192: The Black Cat's Blessing (Chapter 33)
Chiba opened her eyes, and the mansion from before was still in front of her.
Aside from the chirping voice of Tai You beside her, there was no one else.
"Boss, you're finally awake."
Tai You's tone carried a hint of sobbing.
Hearing his voice, Chiba raised an eyebrow. What was going on?
"If you hadn't woken up, we would have all turned into stone statues."
Chiba instinctively looked at them and saw that they were almost entirely petrified up to their chests.
"What happened?" Chiba looked toward Tai You, only to see them all shaking their heads.
They didn't know what had happened either. "I... I think I just had a dream. I dreamed of a Giant White Stone Cat Statue. I just stared into its eyes for a second, and then I was back."
Then he realized he couldn't move, watching helplessly as he slowly turned into a stone statue.
When Tai You said this, the others fell silent as well. It was the same for them; in the void, they had heard a miserable cat's cry and instinctively followed the sound. When they regained consciousness, they found they couldn't move.
"There's plenty of time ahead..."
In an instant, Chiba recalled that disappearing figure and that final, meaningful smile. Looking at them now, she realized that person had been waiting for her here.
"Boss~"
Tai You looked at Chiba with a wronged expression, terrified that she would just leave and abandon them.
Don't ask why; he just felt like the Boss was capable of doing such a thing.
Chiba suddenly leaned in close, staring at the petrification on Tai You's body. His entire body was turning to stone at a rate visible to the naked eye.
"Waaaaah... Boss, don't just stand there watching..."
Tai You looked at her, whimpering.
Chiba stared for a long while, a faint smile on her lips as she shrugged. "What can I do?"
She wasn't omnipotent.
Good heavens, hearing those words, Tai You's heart sank.
"B-Boss... You, don't scare me."
Tai You stared at Chiba with a desperate will to live.
Chiba rested her chin on her hand, looking at the few of them.
In this sealed state, Meng Yu couldn't use her skills, and she had finally stopped crying.
"Wow, Mengmeng, when you keep a straight face and don't talk, you actually look like quite the cool older sister."
Chiba went over to Meng Yu's side and looked at her expressionless face, feeling a bit of novelty.
Mengmeng...
The expression on Meng Yu's face almost crumbled.
I didn't expect you to be this kind of Boss.
"Heh heh heh..."
"The curse has come true."
"Everyone... cough cough... everyone must die..."
An old voice suddenly appeared behind them.
Hearing the voice, Chiba's eyes lit up.
A clue.
NPC equals clue.
A grin spread across Chiba's face as she approached the old man.
"Old man, at your age, you should be enjoying your golden years."
This old man was the same one they had met when they first entered the game.
It had been a long time since she'd seen him.
As soon as the old man saw Chiba, his expression changed.
The look in his eyes was wary, as if he could still feel a faint pain in his abdomen.
The old man backed away, while Chiba pressed forward.
"Come on, let's have a good talk. Why are you still running around at an age when you should be retired?"
"Where is your son?"
"Where is your grandson?"
"How is it that in such a huge place, you're all alone?" Chiba's eyes were clear, as if she were simply puzzled.
Chiba shifted the topic so abruptly that even the people beside her didn't know what she meant.
Hearing this, the old man seemed to have a nerve touched, and his face twisted violently.
"Die!"
"Die."
"You should all die."
As he spoke, he lunged toward Chiba like a madman.
The next second, his arm was grabbed.
"Oh my, how dangerous, just a little bit more~"
Chiba put the red singer away. He was still useful and couldn't die just yet.
However~
Other measures could be taken.
