During their absence, mysterious dark vortexes had been appearing around the Holy City, and several children had already gone missing without a trace.

They followed the trajectory of the dark vortexes and eventually discovered that these vortexes led to an ancient underground palace.

Nangong Yan and Meng Yu rose up to resist, while Qian Ye leaned against a wall to the side for a short nap.

During the battle, Meng Yu discovered that these monsters were afraid of bright light.

In the next moment, the blue light in her hand flared brilliantly, becoming extremely dazzling and forcing the monsters to retreat step by step.

"This looks even more disgusting than a video game." Meng Yu complained while attacking. These monsters were truly too hideous to look at.

They continued forward, having repelled an unknown number of monster waves, leaving the ground covered in black liquid.

As they kept walking, the palace seemed to have no end.

Just as everyone was growing weary, a massive stone door suddenly appeared ahead. The door was carved with patterns of various strange creatures, and there was a circular indentation in the center.

Nangong Yan stepped forward to examine it closely but could find no clues to any mechanism for opening the stone door.

At that moment, Qian Ye seemed to sense something and opened her eyes, slowly walking over. She reached out to touch the stone door and suddenly felt a powerful suction pull her hand into the indentation; immediately after, the stone door slowly opened.

An even more intense putrid stench rushed toward them. It was extremely pungent, and everyone instinctively covered their noses and mouths.

The group walked inside to find a vast space. In the center was a pool emitting a ghostly black light, with several children soaking inside. Their expressions were numb, and their eyes were hollow.

Before anyone could react, a Black-Robed Figure stepped out from the shadows, letting out a shrill laugh: "It's you again, jie jie jie. You're already too late; these sacrifices are beyond saving."

With that, the Black-Robed Figure waved a hand, and more shadow monsters swarmed out from all directions.

Nangong Yan gripped his weapon and shouted, "Today, we will definitely stop you!"

Meng Yu threw herself into the battle again, vowing to save these innocent children and stop the Black-Robed Figure's plot.

Qian Ye stood to the side, looking at the children who no longer had souls. The usual playful smile was gone from her face, replaced only by an endless coldness.

Her patience had reached its limit.

In the next moment, Qian Ye's hands formed a seal. Red silk threads emitting faint golden light instantly scattered out, piercing through the shadows and the Black-Robed Figure alike.

Those monsters were instantly turned to ash.

"Heavens, as expected, it has to be the Big Boss." Tai You looked at Qian Ye with starry eyes.

The awe in the depths of Nangong Yan's eyes grew even stronger.

"Unfortunately, we came too late. These children are still beyond saving." Nangong Yan shook his head; these children's souls had already been sacrificed.
