226: Chapter 226: Testing the Gods (Part Two)

"Who are you!"

Nangong Yan had already been helped off the carriage and was surrounded in the center, with all the surrounding soldiers pointing their weapons at Qianye.

"Ah, if you all want to shed some blood, I don't mind warming up a bit."

Qianye blinked, looking completely innocent.

She held a teapot in her arms.

The man's pupils constricted; that was His Highness's favorite teapot, but now it was filled with dirt, and the lid was nowhere to be found.

Looking back at His Highness, he wore an expression of suppressed anger, daring not to speak.

Who is she?

This was the only question in everyone's mind.

They went to find food, so how did they end up bringing back such a dangerous person?

"Are you people from the Ye Kingdom?"

She had seen it when she entered; the sign on the city gate read 'Ye Kingdom Military Frontier'.

The surroundings were silent.

"Hmm?"

Responding to her was a stifled, ragged chorus of "Hmm"s.

Qianye didn't care; she brushed off invisible dust from her body and jumped off the carriage.

When she left, no one tried to stop her.

After she walked away, the people around hurriedly helped Nangong Yan and his group to get bandaged.

"Hiss, she's not very old, but she hits hard."

Nangong Yan gritted his teeth. Dammit, he hadn't expected that just while the military advisor was away, he would run into such a tough opponent on his one outing.

"When the military advisor returns, she's dead."

Nangong Yan's face wore a sinister, venomous expression.

Qianye wandered around, having explored almost the entire military camp.

It was different from the scenes of corpses strewn everywhere outside; she saw people eating meat and drinking wine heartily here.

Looking at it here, it didn't look like the famine Nangong Yan had described at all.

Suddenly, drums began to sound.

They grew increasingly rapid.

Soon, the army assembled.

"The enemy is attacking! Prepare for battle!"

"Oh no, the military advisor has not yet returned from scouting the terrain."

Nangong Yan was helped out of the tent, his pale face turning extremely ugly.

"Your Highness, this woman is indeed an enemy spy."

They had just been injured, and the other side had immediately struck back so swiftly.

They must have known the situation here.

The military advisor was away, and both the general and His Highness were injured.

"It's useless to say more now; the priority is to focus on the battle."

"Heehee, can I watch the battle then?"

Qianye held the teapot—ah, no, the flower pot—and appeared silently behind Nangong Yan.

Nangong Yan looked at her, his eyes full of strangeness.

He hadn't expected her to love this teapot so much, carrying it with her everywhere.

But if she liked it, why fill it with dirt?

Could this be some strange ritual?

This bizarre behavior reminded Nangong Yan of her unpredictable methods.

That kind of power was truly heart-palpitating, yet he wanted to make it his own.

A greedy light flashed in Nangong Yan's eyes.

"Please..." Nangong Yan acted exceptionally docile.

He knew well that a wise man submits to circumstances.

Staying alive was more important than anything.

The two armies faced off.

The drums of both sides shook the heavens.

On the city wall, Qianye gazed at the army assembled below.

Looking up, black mist permeated the entire sky above the enemy army.

Qianye's nose twitched.

It was that familiar, yet disgusting aura again.

So their hands had already reached this far.

Is it just because humans are the weakest existence?

"Eh, there's actually a new face on the city wall."

"And it's a little girl."

Outside the city, the person on the war chariot looked at the scene on the city wall and was very surprised to see a little girl standing at the very front.

"Heh, what's this? Is this another reinforcement they've invited?"

"The military advisor said that today's battle must be won."

"We don't have much time left."

"Hmm."

No matter who the other side has brought, the city gate will be broken today.
