197: Chapter 197: The Black Cat's Blessing (Thirty-Eight)

"Ah, this is my little flower. Come, say hello to them."

As she spoke, the little flower in the flower pot unfurled its leaves and swayed from side to side, its entire body shaking non-stop.

"B-Boss, this... this flower... can actually understand human speech..."

As expected of a boss, even the flower she raised was so extraordinary.

The group was shocked, yet they also felt it was only natural; they always felt that the boss was different from them.

Now, their time was running out. It felt like a dense fog was still before their eyes, and they didn't know if the so-called truth was real or fake.

"So, what should we do next?"

Chiba's lips curled into a smile. "Hee hee, why think so much? Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

"Sigh, I'm getting a bit bored."

Chiba looked at the grey sky. Compared to this place, she still preferred romance games filled with pink bubbles.

She preferred turning a pink world into a vibrant red even more.

"Little Flower, I'm a bit bored. Let's finish this quickly, okay?"

The little flower in her arms shook its body in response.

"Well, in that case, I'll have to trouble you all for a bit."

Before the others could react to Chiba's words, she had already knocked them all down.

"Cough, cough... Boss, you..." Before losing consciousness, Tai You stared at Chiba's eerily smiling face.

What did the boss want to do?

"Cough, cough..."

"Cough, cough..."

"How can this be... it shouldn't..."

Lian Bai stared at Chiba with a look of utter confusion.

This wasn't an act; he was truly baffled.

They shouldn't...

Chiba squatted to the side, staring indifferently at Tai You and the others on the ground. She even poked them with her finger. "Wow, they really turned into stone statues. So lifelike."

Her tone was full of excitement.

"Sigh, what a pity. I thought they could keep me company for a bit longer." Chiba squatted in front of the stone statues. Although she was sighing, excitement could be heard in her voice.

The sound of clapping came from mid-air.

"See? I told you. You and I, we're the same kind of people. Join us."

A white mist permeated the air, drawing closer to the ground. As the mist dissipated, a youth appeared who looked exactly like Lian Bai, except this youth had a pair of eerie green eyes.

At this moment, the gaze he fixed on Chiba was full of predatory heat.

"Alright."

Chiba stood up and smoothed out her skirt.

"You're right. After playing for so long, I am indeed tired."

"Sigh, I thought these humans could play with me a bit longer. I didn't expect them to be so useless. Oh well..."

"Then I'll give them to you as sacrifices."

"Hee hee, I'm very curious to see what this place will look like after everything is devoured."

Chiba's words left the person opposite her stunned. Before he could even use the speech he had prepared, the other party had surrendered directly.

For a moment, a suspicious gaze fixed on Chiba, trying to find a single shred of evidence of a ruse.

But her eyes held nothing but sincerity.

"Are you sure?"

The two youths looked at each other as if they were looking into a mirror.

What now?

Why wasn't she following the script?

The two stared at each other, unsure whether to proceed.

There was no choice. This was the final hour; they couldn't afford to wait any longer.

When the time comes, she'll be the only one left. If we two brothers join forces to deal with her, our task will be complete.

"There's no other way now."

If they didn't start the sacrifice, everything they had done before would cease to exist.

The two made up their minds and decided to wait for the right moment.

"Fine then, I'll leave these people to you." Chiba clapped her hands, yawned, and walked inside.

She hadn't slept at all last night; time to catch up on some sleep.

The two looked at each other. She was actually serious.
