9: Chapter 9: Angel Campus (Part 9)
"The rest of the time is in your hands."
"I'm sleepy."
Mo Lan looked at the big shot, then at that flower pot. Ah, her damned curiosity made her slowly move toward the window.
Seeing Mo Lan, that little tender bud put its hands on its hips and danced its body around.
Mo Lan's eyes widened.
Ho— Holy crap.
Was she seeing things?
"Be quiet."
Chiba, lying on the bed, said only those two words, and the little tender bud instantly became as quiet as a mouse.
Mo Lan blinked; the big shot was truly amazing.
The two of them went to bed just like that.
With the big shot by her side, Mo Lan felt extremely at ease.
Outside, the entire corridor was filled with severed limbs and arms, with blood splattered everywhere, carrying a faint, nauseating stench.
Bai Xiao's face was pale. Now, she was the only player left in her dormitory, along with two NPC roommates. She was terrified.
"Zhan Hao, I want to..."
"You can't!"
Before Zhan Hao could speak, Lin Yu stopped her from finishing her sentence.
If she could betray someone now, she would continue to abandon others for self-preservation next time.
Lin Yu's words made Bai Xiao's face turn even paler.
"Alright, tonight should be over. It's fine now, go back to your dormitory first," Zhan Hao consoled her, unable to bear it.
Bai Xiao had no choice but to accept this for now. She returned to her dormitory, looking back with every few steps, while the rest of the people also left this place of trouble.
As the battle ended, in the night outside, the black mist pressed down a bit lower, as if one could touch it just by lifting their head.
For a moment, the outside world was silent.
Time passed bit by bit, and everyone was immersed in their dreams.
Suddenly, a familiar bell rang.
"Ding-dong~ Ding-dong~"
"Ding-dong~ Ding-dong..."
Mo Lan, who was dozing, suddenly jolted awake and gripped her quilt. No way, it's still not peaceful tonight?
No one knew how much time had passed, but there was still no movement. The surging shadows outside the window hovered constantly, but the moment they touched the window, they were bounced away.
Mo Lan was unaware of everything happening; at this moment, she just looked at the soundly sleeping big shot with a face full of envy.
Early in the morning, Tai Feng appeared outside the dormitory. As soon as Chiba appeared, she saw the other players gathered around Bai Xiao's dormitory.
Seeing Chiba appear, Tai Feng took the initiative to explain, "Bai Xiao is dead." Her death was extremely gruesome; her internal organs had all disappeared.
When Chiba appeared, Zhan Hao subconsciously tried to make way for her. With that path cleared, Chiba saw the full state of the corpse.
"It seems her roommates were starving," Chiba said, her left hand holding the little red umbrella and her right hand cradling the flower pot, a familiar faint smile playing on her lips.
"You— what do you mean?" Lin Yu's face beside her was unsightly. Although he hated her actions, he didn't want her to die.
Hearing this, Zhan Hao fell silent. Last night, their attention was focused on the dangers outside, but they had ignored the dangers right beside them.
Chiba's single sentence instantly enlightened him, and he also understood why those two players had lost their lives the night before last.
It turned out that danger was also all around them.
Since things were explained so clearly, no one present was a fool.
Tai Feng felt a chill run through his body and exchanged another look with Zhan Hao. The four of them were relatively lucky to be assigned to the same dormitory; thus, they were still alive and well.
This Bai Xiao must have let her guard down yesterday and died at the hands of her NPC roommates.
Once daytime arrived, those two NPCs had already disappeared.
In just three days and two nights, out of the ten players, four were already lost, leaving six remaining: four males and two females.
The group went downstairs with heavy hearts.
Downstairs, by the bulletin board, a familiar NPC appeared.
Chiba spotted him at a glance, her eyes lighting up. "Morning, Dean."
"Ah, morning." The Dean of Discipline looked slightly flustered, hiding his hand behind his back.
"Why is the Dean here so early?" Chiba tilted her head in confusion.
"This... isn't this waiting for you all?"
Seeing Chiba staring at his hand, he finally reached out, clutching several pieces of paper.
*Cough, cough.* "The physical examination reports are out. Except for students Bai Xiao and Yu Zi, you have all passed. Congratulations."
"Of course, as you can see, those who failed have already received their punishment."
His words made everyone present freeze.
"From now on, you are officially a part of Angel Campus." The Dean of Discipline clapped.
"Especially student Chiba; her physical examination report is 'Excellent'."
Hearing the result, Chiba nodded, very satisfied.
Look at that, isn't this the benefit of dating an NPC?
This thought suddenly sprouted in Tai Feng's mind.
Chiba tilted her head with an obedient look. "Dean, since I performed so excellently, is there a reward?"
The Dean of Discipline froze for a moment, not knowing how to answer her.
After a pause, he returned to normal. "Ah, student, what did you just say?"
"I performed so excellently, will there be a reward?"
The Dean of Discipline gave her a deep look. "There will be."
A brilliant smile appeared on Chiba's face. "Then I'm really looking forward to it~"
"Next, I will take you to the classroom."
"Starting from today, formal classes will begin."
At the mention of classes, what surfaced in Mo Lan's mind was that group of students without eyeballs.
Ah, no way. Being classmates with them is a bit life-threatening, not to mention they just attacked us last night.
Upon reaching the classroom, the first thing they observed was that group of students. Each was wearing a school uniform, sitting like model students, with their eyes properly in their sockets. Thank goodness, thank goodness, they are normal this time.
Mo Lan quietly let out a sigh of relief.
The other players also relaxed for a moment.
Chiba looked at the group of students inside; every one of them had hollow eyes and faces covered in bloodstains. She felt a bit of disdain; this was just too unrefined.
What Tai Feng saw in his eyes was the same as what Chiba saw. Thinking about being classmates with them, his whole body was filled with rejection.
"Big shot, you— do you think being classmates with them will have..."
Chiba made a gesture for silence, and he instantly stopped talking.
Observing the expressions of the other players, nothing seemed amiss. Tai Feng was somewhat surprised. No way, is their ability to accept things this strong?
They didn't have any reaction at all!
The Dean of Discipline arranged for them to enter. Zhan Hao, Lin Yu, Mo Lan... several entered normally. But when it was Tai Feng's turn, everyone's gaze gathered on him, staring at him intently.
Tai Feng's little heart skipped a beat.
What's going on?
Chiba was not spared either. Just as she walked to Tai Feng's side, all the NPCs' gazes gathered on her and Tai Feng respectively.
Chiba ignored them and focused her gaze on the teacher on the podium.
Hmm, the teacher who was killed has refreshed.
Chiba took a step forward, and that teacher subconsciously backed away. Chiba's eyes lit up; so the memory wasn't refreshed.
Then things would be easy to handle.
Chiba lifted the hong ling umbrella, and in the next second, the tip of the umbrella pointed at the center of the teacher's forehead. In a smiling, innocent tone, she asked, "Teacher, may I take a seat now?"
She smiled obediently, but the tip of the umbrella at the forehead didn't move an inch, as if if she heard an undesirable answer, the teacher would lose their life on the spot again.
"You may, you may."
As her voice fell, that group of students consciously looked away.
Chiba withdrew the hong ling umbrella with satisfaction, no longer paying attention to the teacher's distorted face, and leisurely looked for a seat at the back.
Tai Feng also benefited from the big shot's presence and sat together with her in a grand manner.
