180: Chapter 180: The Black Cat's Blessing (Part 21)
"Oh my, there's actually a living person here~"
Her tone was filled with mischief.
Hearing the voice, the boy paused.
The next second, he turned around slowly.
He lifted his head slightly, met Qianye's eyes full of interest, and was so scared he shrank back again.
As the boy turned, Qianye could roughly make out his face; he looked to be about seventeen or eighteen.
His whole body was thin and weak.
Qianye stared at him, a dark glimmer flashing across the depths of her eyes.
"Who are you?"
Qianye blinked her eyes, her gaze filled with curiosity toward him.
After a long while, seemingly sensing no danger, the boy slowly lifted his head.
"Ah, ah..."
He opened his mouth for a long time, but couldn't utter a single coherent word.
Watching him excitedly stretch out his hands and gesture, Qianye narrowed her eyes slightly; so, he was a mute.
She watched as he excitedly pointed to the stone statue, then pointed to himself.
Qianye shook her head.
Seeing Qianye looking confused, the boy became anxious and started gesturing on the ground.
"Lian Bai?"
"Your name?"
The boy's eyes lit up, and he nodded.
"Why are you here?"
The boy started gesturing again.
After his vivid performance, Qianye roughly understood.
He was hiding here because someone was chasing him.
Qianye nodded.
"Then you should hide here properly."
After saying this, Qianye prepared to leave.
She hadn't carefully observed this place yet.
What kind of place was it, exactly?
Was it the way she had guessed?
Just as she took a step, she felt a tug on her skirt.
She turned back and saw the youth pulling on her dress, his eyes pleading.
The youth bowed to her with cupped hands and gestured.
Sensing his goal, Qianye curled her lips slightly.
"You want me to take you away!"
The youth nodded.
Receiving a confirmed answer, the corners of Qianye's mouth, which were already upturned, widened even further, full of interest, "Hee hee~"
"What a pity..."
"I don't like carrying useless people."
"If you want to live, just stay hidden and be good~"
Leaving behind this sentence, Qianye waved her sleeves, leaving without a backward glance.
The moment Qianye turned away, the youth stared straight at her back.
Leaving the temple, Qianye hummed a little tune along the way:
"La la la~"
"Yellow Springs Shore, Nine Nether River;"
"Gates of Hell, Reincarnation Fire;"
"Floating Life Pagoda, suppressing all demons."
"La la la~"
"Floating Life Pagoda, oh Floating Life Pagoda..."
"Suppressing all demons..."
"..."
Qianye walked with light steps, singing as she went.
During the day, not a single person could be seen in the entire village; this was the same as in that town.
What kind of secret existed during the day, exactly?
With no one to be seen, even if she wanted to find out something, she had nowhere to start.
"Hmm, I'd better go to the old place~"
"Hee hee~"
--
At the wooden house.
Qianye looked at the door that was locked again, hearing a familiar coughing sound.
"Interesting."
She raised an eyebrow; so, what exactly was her purpose?
Thinking this, Qianye held the flower pot, carried the hong ling umbrella in one hand, and with a "bang," the door was kicked open again.
Qianye slowly retracted her foot, tidied her skirt, and then looked elegantly at the person inside.
The astonishment in her eyes was fully taken in by Qianye.
The next second, Qianye curled her lips and blinked, "Hee hee, I thought about it, and I should still save you."
"If I don't save you, my conscience won't be at ease."
As she spoke, Qianye specifically patted her chest.
The girl's mouth was clearly slightly stiff.
"No... cough, cough..."
"I..."
"Ah!"
Before the girl could finish speaking, a sharp pain struck her abdomen, and an instantly bone-chilling sensation spread throughout her body.
"You..."
The girl looked at Qianye in front of her in disbelief.
The person who had just been talking about saving her a second ago, was now...
At her abdomen, the tip of the hong ling umbrella was still pressed there, dripping crimson blood from time to time.
