11: Goodbye Roy (Part 1)

The next morning, the morning light filtered through the mottled leaves, casting fragmented shadows in front of Linlin's window. After a night of tossing and turning, she had finally fully awakened from yesterday's shock. Recalling Wei He's series of bizarre behaviors, especially his ability to make the captain defect without anyone noticing, Linlin's brow furrowed tightly. She paced back and forth in her room, her mind constantly weighing various possibilities. Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind like a bolt of lightning—the Lingshu Kingdom! Only the Ability Users of the Lingshu Kingdom possessed the special ability to change their appearance and could pull off something so seamless. "Right, it must be that!" A flicker of certainty flashed in Linlin's eyes as she clenched her fists and muttered to herself.

Meanwhile, Wei He arrived at the command room early in the morning. Inside, various instruments flickered with a faint blue light, and data constantly pulsed across the screens. At the thought of that young girl with slightly green curly hair and a faint fragrance surrounding her, Wei He's gaze couldn't help but become a bit dazed. However, he quickly regained his composure, knowing that business came first. He walked up to the massive holographic projection map, his fingers sliding nimbly across the virtual interface as he unhurriedly directed the system to construct defensive fortifications. He had worked tirelessly day and night for several months; now that the defensive system was nearing completion, victory seemed to be within reach.

Upon Ancient Tree Mountain, rows of Grand Cannons stood tall like steel behemoths. These Grand Cannons had broad, heavy bases, usually cast from solid steel and concrete into squares or rectangles, firmly rooted into the mountain as if they were one with the earth. Atop the base sat a massive turret, overall circular or oval in shape, covered in thick armor. The armor displayed distinct textures and uneven marks, showing its sturdiness and weight. The barrel was the most prominent part of the Grand Cannon, extending several meters from the turret, straight and thick, like a steel dragon ready to strike. The massive muzzle of the Grand Cannon had a staggering diameter, its interior dark and deep as if it could swallow everything, projecting a powerful sense of deterrence.

On the mandatory path from Sentry Mountain to Ancient Tree Mountain, rows of Tesla Coils were arranged neatly. The bases of the Tesla Coils were wide and stable, composed of solid metal and concrete in square or circular shapes, like firm fortresses. Extending upward from the base was the tower body, generally cylindrical or polygonal, with simple yet powerful lines. At the top of the Tesla Coil was a spherical or hemispherical device known as the "Induction Ball," one of the core components of the Tesla Coil. It flickered with eerie electrical light, capable of gathering and releasing massive amounts of electrical energy. Once activated, a powerful magnetic storm field would form around it, and any approaching enemy would suffer a fatal blow.

Around the perimeter of the base, many Prism Towers stood tall, surrounding the entire base so tightly that not even a drop of water could leak through. The Prism Towers reached into the clouds, and at their peak was the most critical component—a massive Prism. The Prisms were made of special optical materials with extremely high transparency, containing complex internal structures for refraction and reflection. The Prisms were polyhedral in shape, with every face polished to an extreme smoothness like a mirror, flashing with dazzling light under the sun. They could converge and fire energy, forming powerful Prism Beams that would instantly destroy everything in their path.

Throughout the territory occupied by Wei He, Sentry Guns and bunkers were placed randomly across the hills and fields. Sentry Guns were hidden behind bushes and rocks; once they detected an enemy, they would immediately activate and spray dense gunfire. bunkers were sturdy defensive fortifications equipped with sophisticated weapons and well-trained soldiers. No matter where Charlie attacked from, he would face layers of fire suppression.

In the command room, Wei He noticed through the advanced monitoring system that the spy Linlin and the White-Robed Man had returned to Riquan City. A cold smirk curled on his lips, because wherever red alert characters were present, he could monitor everything in all directions, including sound.

At this moment, Linlin and the White-Robed Man were standing in the main hall of the Generals Mansion. The hall was tall and spacious, magnificent in its presence, with several thick pillars supporting the entire structure as if recounting the majesty and history of the building. Directly above the main hall hung a plaque inscribed with "A Bright Mirror Hanging High" in gold characters on a red background, shining brightly under the lights. Below the plaque sat a massive rosewood desk, with the four treasures of the study and some official documents neatly arranged on it, displaying the owner's status and position. Behind the desk was a carved grandmaster's chair, its back intricately carved with lifelike dragon patterns, manifesting the owner's authority. On both sides of the hall stood weapon racks displaying various blades, swords, spears, and halberds, their cold light flashing as a thick aura of slaughter pressed against the face.

Seated in front of the weapon racks were the magicians Charlie had invited, who, like him, were Intermediate Magicians. Although they were only Intermediate Magicians, they were already the cream of the crop among most people, and their presence gave Charlie a great deal of confidence.

"General Charlie, we've returned with information!" The spy Linlin pouted slightly, speaking in a somewhat playful tone in an attempt to ease the tense atmosphere in the hall.

"How is it? What is that scum Aaron doing now?" Charlie asked impatiently, his eyes filled with anger and urgency. At the thought of Aaron making him lose face, he wished he could tear him into ten thousand pieces immediately. After all, so many people sent out previously had never returned, filling him with a sense of frustration.

"That perverted sex-maniac Aaron is still thinking about that slut Roy, wanting to rekindle their old flame!" the White-Robed Man said with a face full of disdain, his tone filled with contempt.

"Have their defensive deployments been clarified?" Charlie didn't want to hear about romantic affairs right now. Thinking of Wei He's strange troops, he couldn't help but feel a bit wary. Only by understanding the enemy's situation could one know themselves and the enemy to win a hundred battles.

"It's all here," the White-Robed Man took out an exquisite map, which detailed the topography and building distribution of Ancient Tree Mountain. "Aaron is hidden here. We can use his sweetheart Roy to lure him out!"

Charlie looked at those strange buildings on the map, his brow furrowed, unable to make head or tail of it for a moment. After all, everything related to Wei He was too strange and exceeded his understanding. But he also realized that he could only choose to believe it now, so he nodded, signaling the White-Robed Man to explain the detailed plan.

At this time, in the minds of Charlie and the others, Wei He was undoubtedly a lucky but worthless 'turtle man' who was beneath contempt. Little did they know that a massive crisis was quietly approaching them.

In the base within the Harsh Forest, Wei He was holding a handwritten letter from Roy, reading it with a playful expression. Every word in the letter was within his expectations; things were developing so smoothly, everything moving according to his plan. Thinking of Roy, a flash of disdain crossed Wei He's eyes. In his view, such a woman was simply the scum of womankind, ruining the image of women, and was someone both men and women should denounce.

Outside the base gates, a spy disguised as Wei He, along with over ten Yuris and dozens of American Soldiers, were ready to go. They wore neat military uniforms, their gazes determined, and the weapons in their hands were polished bright. They only waited for Wei He's command to resolutely rush to the battlefield. Because these were Red Alert Troops with absolute loyalty to Wei He, Wei He didn't waste any words and directly ordered them to board the helicopters and fly to Riquan City.

At midnight, a bright moon hung high in the sky, casting a cold glow. Above the ruins of Seryn Village, there was a dead silence. A few stray cats darted through the ruins searching for food, their eyes glinting in the darkness. Ever since this place was burned down by Charlie, no one had set foot here again, leaving only the broken walls and debris to recount the past pain under the moonlight.

The night hawk helicopters took advantage of the night to land slowly here, emitting a low roar. The spy Wei He and the others quickly disembarked. Their figures appeared exceptionally mysterious under the moonlight. After briefly organizing their equipment, they headed toward Roy's residence. A thrilling confrontation was about to begin...
