43: powerful magic circle

"Hmph, a bunch of bandits using hidden weapons to hurt people, making up excuses. Surrender quickly! One thousand gold pieces per person, and your lives can be spared!" Jian's entire being exuded an air of laziness.

"Do it!" Wei He said, currently holding Linlin; he didn't want to waste any more time.

Receiving the order, Huang Yichen flew forward and kicked toward Jian, who sat very confidently on his horse.

The Magic Shield shattered upon impact with Huang Yichen's attack. Before Jian could even register his surprise, he was sent flying by the kick, crashing directly beneath the North City Gate.

Jian spat out blood, realizing that this person was definitely a higher-level Ability User.

"Go, activate the Magic Array and kill them all!" Jian stood up with difficulty and immediately ordered the panicked soldiers beside him.

"Yes!" The soldier seemed to regain a sliver of confidence.

Meanwhile, outside the city, Huang Yichen and the Bozi Youning were frantically harvesting the lives of Jian's soldiers.

Jian had no choice but to order a retreat. The laughing Huang Yichen didn't realize that in the center of Kela City, on the highest roof, there was a massive Magic Array. The outermost part of the formation was a circular pattern, and further inside were various runes—runes that even Jian couldn't fully decipher.

Further inward were various patterns: pentagrams, hexagrams, crescent moons, sun patterns, and so on.

Standing within this Magic Array were twenty-four Beginner Magicians. They cast their magic, pouring all the strength in their bodies into the array. With a loud shout, the Beginner Magician in the very center was actually lifted up by the magical energy.

The Beginner Magician in mid-air was filled with Holy Magical Light. As he struck out with a palm, a beam of Holy Light crossed half the city and accurately hit Huang Yichen.

The previously smug Huang Yichen immediately spat out blood and was sent flying backward, crashing into the grass dozens of meters away.

Wei He saw that Huang Yichen's health bar had been emptied by this single strike. Fortunately, as a three-star soldier, he would be fine even with a sliver of health left.

"Rocket Troopers, go quickly and see where that attack came from!" Wei He hurriedly ordered.

The Rocket Troopers soon reached the city center and arrived above the Magic Array, pointing several muzzles at the Beginner Magicians below and spitting out lethal tongues of fire.

When the bullets neared the Magic Array, they were blocked by its Magic Shield. Wei He saw all of this clearly through the red alert system.

"System, have the Chrono Legionnaires go eliminate them, and bring the night hawk helicopter over!" Wei He ordered the system while setting Linlin down and walking toward Huang Yichen.

The Chrono Legionnaires acted immediately, vanishing from their spots with a 'swish'. Meanwhile, the many magicians were looking smugly at the Rocket Troopers being blocked outside.

Suddenly, figures dressed entirely in white bypassed the Magic Array's Magic Shield and appeared directly on top of the array.

Just as the Beginner Magicians were surprised by the fluctuations of spatial energy around them and these people appearing out of thin air...

...Blue rays shot out from the time-space erasure guns, hitting the magicians one by one. Their surrounding Magic Shields could not block this kind of spatial attack.

Inside their own Magic Shields, their bodies were enveloped by Blue Ripples until finally, their bodies began to blur and become transparent, eventually disappearing from the spot entirely.

The Magic Array vanished along with them, and the Magic Shield disappeared as well.

In the building, Jian, who was resting, sensed the spatial magic energy and appeared on the roof.

The roof was where the Magic Array had been. He immediately ran up, but by the time he reached the roof, there was nothing left; everything had ceased to exist.

The Magic Array, the twenty-four Beginner Magicians, and the Rocket Troopers and Chrono Legionnaires from just now were all gone.

"Ah!" Jian couldn't understand any of it. He didn't know what had happened and shouted out helplessly.

On Wei He's side, he had already boarded the night hawk helicopter, flying toward the Danga Archipelago with Linlin, Huang Yichen, and Andrew.

As for the Rocket Troopers and Chrono Legionnaires, they were ordered to return to the Harsh Forest.

Several Bozi Youning also ran in the direction of Nanshan Town.

The woman in the theater stood dazed on the spot. It took a long time for her to realize that she was free.

"Hahahaha, I'm fine. I need to leave quickly before they come back. This is too terrifying!" the woman murmured to herself.

"Stop! Boss, this woman is with that group from just now!" a sallow and emaciated soldier said to the Centurion.

"So it's you lot who killed so many of our brothers! Arrest her!" The Centurion rubbed his round, bulging belly, his small, lustful eyes greedily roaming over the woman's body.

"Ah! I'm not, I'm not with them! I was coerced by them. They are so cruel; if you don't listen to them, you'll be beaten to death!" the woman explained in a panic. There were so many soldiers in this city; she couldn't handle them on her own.

"Did you work for them? Speak!" the Centurion said, still acting arrogant.

"Yes! But I was forced!" As she spoke, the woman's tears began to fall.

"Then what are you arguing for? Sigh, don't cry. I'm the type who can't stand to see a woman cry. Come, take her back; I'll comfort her properly!" The corners of the Centurion's mouth curled up so much that even an AK couldn't suppress his grin.

"No! I'm really not with them! Ah! Ah! Ah! Help!" the woman screamed in panic.

"Hahahaha, scream! Go ahead and scream! Even if you scream until your throat is raw, no one will pay you any mind! Hahahaha!" the group of soldiers laughed loudly.

Wei He saw all of this through the satellite. This could be considered her deserved retribution; as the saying goes, 'wicked people will be tormented by those even more wicked.'

Wei He, who was monitoring the situation in Kela City via satellite, never imagined that the Danga Archipelago—which he thought was the safest and most hidden place—was currently welcoming a group of uninvited guests.

Two Warships were sailing at full speed toward the Danga Archipelago. Xie Yanwen had notified Wei He through the system long ago, but unfortunately, Wei He was busy retrieving his wife with Andrew at the time.

As the night hawk helicopter flew over the main island of the Danga Archipelago, Wei He saw the massive sails of two Warships. Driven by the sea breeze, they were rapidly approaching his location.

Only then did Wei He timely contact Xie Yanwen, learning that the person coming was none other than 'Plucking Feathers from a Passing Goose'—Lin Zhian.

Lin Zhian was a World-Shocking Level Ability User, and now Huang Yichen was injured. What should he do?

Wei He now had a massive headache; it seemed this base couldn't be kept either.

"System, quickly send Yuri and Du Yu—the ones with red lines over their heads—to the Harsh Forest!" Wei He ordered the system anxiously.

"As you command, Commander!" the system replied.

"Now turn around and head to Nanshan Town!" Wei He's mood was incredibly complicated at this moment.

Meanwhile, Lin Zhian had already arrived at the small island where Xie Yanwen had previously landed. Xie Yanwen was currently stalling for time, having people search the island for Wei He.

"This is where you were ambushed by him last time?" Lin Zhian asked, his face full of doubt.

"It's this island. He must still be on it!" Xie Yanwen said with certainty.

"Search carefully. The enemy this time is very cunning!" Lin Zhian said to the crowd.

"Yes!" everyone replied in unison.

When Lin Zhian went ashore to check the situation, he brought the remaining 200+ Entry Level Ability Users with him.

As for Xie Yanwen, upon receiving Wei He's order, he had arranged for his 200+ ordinary soldiers controlled by Yuri to stay on the ships.
