150: Chapter 150 Water Magician

"I won't kill you. Take care of yourself, and don't come back to Laiseluo City!" After Wei He finished speaking, he turned and left.

Chen Jiaojiao watched Wei He's departing back, her heart filled with complex emotions. She didn't know what to do next, so she could only struggle to stand up, dragging her heavy body and moving away step by step.

The next morning, the Red Alert Troops followed Tang Xiaowei's lead and arrived at the gates of Laiseluo City. Because of Tang Xiaowei's presence, the Red Alert Troops encountered almost no resistance along the way and arrived smoothly.

The guards at the city gate showed expressions of terror when they saw the arrival of the Red Alert Troops. They knew they were no match for the Red Alert Troops, and the fact that the Red Alert Troops could reach this point meant that the army of over a hundred thousand sent out previously had been defeated. Those were the last elites of the Magic Empire, including several thousand from the Magic Legion.

You should know that a mage might not even appear among a thousand people; mages were extremely precious, let alone a Magic Legion. It was terrifying that these Red Alert Troops could even defeat a Magic Legion.

"Boss, this is bad! The Red Alert Troops are attacking! Let's retreat!" A trembling soldier said to his superior, who could lift a seventy-pound steel saber with one hand. He deeply regretted it now; had he known, he would have left with the others yesterday. Now he had come to fill their positions, only to encounter the Red Alert Troops. What kind of karma was this!

"Hmph, what's there to fear? Our existence is for this very moment! Open the city gates and charge out with me! We'll slaughter them until not a single one remains!" He raised the seventy-pound steel saber and shouted loudly.

"Yes!" the others shouted in unison, picking up their weapons one after another. The soldier who had been trembling just now was also forced to pick up his weapon and follow the crowd out of the city gate.

"There aren't even any city walls left on that side, so we can only open the gate to face the enemy. After all, there's no need to guard other places; the enemy can just walk right in!" the soldier grumbled as he ran.

With a bang, his head slammed directly into the armor of the person in front of him, making him howl in pain.

"I say, what's wrong with you? We haven't even started fighting, so why did you stop? Really!" The soldier rubbed his head and complained crossly.

However, the scene that followed left him completely dumbfounded. All the soldiers in front of him stood in place, motionless, as if they had turned into statues. With a light touch, they fell to the ground—and crucially, everyone's eyes were still open.

"Ah, what's happening? Why did it turn out like this? Are you all scared? Don't play dead here! Get up! Move! They've already entered the city!" The soldier watched as the Red Alert Troops entered the city area boldly through the gap where the wall had vanished. Trembling, he walked to the front of the line and was about to call out to his superior when the seventy-pound steel saber slipped from the man's hand, the blade stabbing heavily into the ground.

"Ah!" The soldier screamed and ran away, stripping off his armor as he fled, muttering to himself, "No wonder even the Magic Legion couldn't stop them. So that's how it is. Too terrifying, these people are too terrifying!"

With Tang Xiaowei's help, the defenders of the four city gates all fell into illusions. Even the headquarters of the Imperial Guards was not spared. It was only when they reached the entrance of the Holy Temple that Tang Xiaowei stopped. She was unwilling to go any further no matter what. Wei He did not force her; after all, she had already helped him a lot.

"Wei He, the Laiselo Temple is just ahead. There are three Saint Archmage-level mages in the temple. Be careful. I won't accompany you there. If you can come back alive, we'll go back to your Blue Star together, hahaha!" After Tang Xiaowei finished speaking, she left with a loud laugh.

"Fine! It's a deal!" Wei He replied happily as he watched Tang Xiaowei's departing back.

Inside the Laiselo Temple, a soldier ran frantically into the great hall and said tremblingly to Emperor Alexander, "Your Majesty, disaster has struck! Wei He's Red Alert Troops have attacked and are now at the temple gates!"

"Understood. Withdraw," Emperor Alexander commanded indifferently. After all, the city walls had vanished overnight; how could he not know about such a major event? Moreover, in the entire continent, only Wei He, the Space Mage, could likely achieve such a feat.

"What must come has finally come. Your Majesty, let this subject go in your stead to see what this Wei He is made of!" Grand Duke William said with a face full of fury, standing up and speaking calmly to Emperor Alexander.

"Mm, granted. Go, William. When you return in triumph, I will personally host a victory feast for you!" Emperor Alexander nodded and responded calmly. After all, Grand Duke William was a Saint Archmage-level mage; there were few people in the entire continent who could kill him. Therefore, Emperor Alexander had nothing to worry about even if he only sent him alone.

"Thank you, Your Majesty!" A smile appeared on Grand Duke William's face upon hearing this, and he turned to walk out of the Laiselo Temple.

Wearing a white magic robe, Grand Duke William slowly descended from the sky above the Red Alert Troops.

"Wei He, you coward! If you have the guts, come out and fight me! Don't hide behind your soldiers like a woman, hahahaha!" Grand Duke William mocked loudly from the air.

"Hmph, trying to use psychological tactics? It's useless. These are red alert soldiers; they are loyal only to me and won't be affected by your words, hehehehe!" Wei He sneered quietly to the side.

"You were originally just a petty thief, a mountain king. If not for His Majesty's mercy in granting you amnesty and even enfeoffing you as a lord, you wouldn't be here. Yet you dared to lead troops into the capital and kill so many loyal officials and brave generals! You disloyal, unfilial, and rebellious traitor! Come out!" Grand Duke William unleashed another verbal assault, but there was still no movement below. Just as he was about to lose his temper, he suddenly saw someone walk out from the crowd.

"If you hadn't hired assassins to kill me first, why would I have raised an army? I was on the front lines fighting the Demon Race for you, yet you stabbed me in the back. You have the nerve to accuse me? Your skin is truly thick—tsk tsk, thicker than your city walls!" Wei He pointed at Grand Duke William in the sky, gesticulating and shouting at the top of his lungs.

"Hehe, it's good that you're willing to come out!" Grand Duke William chuckled and reached out with a fair, large hand. Wei He was sucked into the air by a mysterious force. Immediately, the moisture in his body rapidly vanished. In the blink of an eye, all the water in his body turned into vapor and erupted from his pores at a visible speed, slowly gathering in the air into a mass of transparent liquid. Meanwhile, Wei He had turned into a shriveled corpse. Grand Duke William casually tossed him toward the ground, and the moment Wei He touched the earth, he turned into a pile of dust.

"Ah! Wei He, you really did die after all. I told you, no one can defeat a Saint Archmage-level mage. You actually wanted to unify the world? Pure delusional thinking!" Tang Xiaowei watched all this quietly from the roof of the Imperial Guards' barracks.
