191: Chapter 191 The Vicious Charlie
"Ah, it hurts! Something's wrong with this waterweed, hurry up and help me hack it off!" the Wolf-Headed Beastman leader shouted, shaking his hand to try and dislodge the waterweed.
"Big Brother, Big Brother, what's wrong?" Seeing their leader suddenly scream in pain, several Wolf-Headed Beastman lackeys nearby rushed over to ask.
"This waterweed is poisonous! Hack it off, quickly! My hand is stuck to it and I can't move!" the Wolf-Headed Beastman leader urged everyone loudly, his face contorted in pain.
"Right away, Big Brother!" A Wolf-Headed Beastman lackey raised his steel saber and hacked down at the waterweed on Charlie's body.
To everyone's shock, the steel saber didn't do any damage to the waterweed at all. The waterweed remained completely unmoved; instead, the steel saber also became stuck to it, and no matter how hard he pulled, it wouldn't come off.
"Big Brother, something is really wrong with this waterweed. My saber won't come off either. It won't break, it's so tough! What do we do now?" The Wolf-Headed Beastman who had hacked the weed stared with wide eyes and dilated green pupils, looking at his suffering leader in an anxious panic.
"Oh, I get it! This waterweed is stuck to this Charlie guy, and he can't get it off either! Hehe!" another Wolf-Headed Beastman said excitedly, his eyes lighting up.
"Dammit, isn't that obvious? Hurry up and find a way to save me, you idiot!" The Wolf-Headed Beastman leader used his other hand to smack the subordinate hard on the head.
Charlie watched these fools, a helpless smirk playing on the corner of his mouth. Following his will, the waterweed on his body began to grow longer and longer, fluttering in the wind.
"Whoa, the waterweed doesn't stick to Charlie at all!" The Wolf-Headed Beastmen standing close by saw that the waterweed moved smoothly over Charlie's body without any sign of mucus. However, anyone else who touched the waterweed was firmly stuck by the slime on its surface.
While they were still standing there trying to figure it out, the waterweed grew long enough to spiral down from the air, coiling around dozens of Wolf-Headed Beastmen and binding them tightly together.
"Ah, it hurts! Help! It's so sticky, I can't move! There are barbs on it, it hurts so much!" A young Wolf-Headed Beastman cried out in pain, tears streaming from his round eyes.
"This waterweed isn't just sticky, it's incredibly strong! Ah, the strength... the constriction is getting tighter and tighter! My waist is about to be snapped!" The beastman speaking screamed while vomiting violently; the waterweed was crushing his stomach, forcing stomach acid up into his mouth.
"Mmph! Mmph!" One unlucky Wolf-Headed Beastman had his mouth stuck shut by the waterweed and could only make muffled noises. However, his suffering didn't last long, as the waterweed soon crushed his head, causing brain matter and blood to spill onto the ground.
The other Wolf-Headed Beastmen met similar fates. The sky-piercing ghost vine waterweed crushed all dozens of them to death. To be precise, it burst them; because the waterweed was so resilient and constricted so tightly, it eventually snapped them in half at the waist.
Seeing that they were dead, Charlie retracted the waterweed. At this moment, although the waterweed was covered in mucus, it was not sticky at all, sliding smoothly back from the corpses.
"Hmph, a bunch of trash who didn't know their own limits," Charlie snorted coldly. Disdaining even to look at the corpses on the ground, he turned to leave.
Just then, two Wolf-Headed Beastmen suddenly ran out from a room behind the plaza—a woman and a child of about ten. They ran onto the plaza and collapsed over two halves of a corpse, wailing loudly: "My child's father, you're gone... how are we supposed to live? Waaaah!"
"Quick... leave... child, don't... don't seek... revenge for me!" The Wolf-Headed Beastman on the ground, with only half a body left, spoke these final words with great difficulty through cold sweat before his head slumped and his breath ceased entirely.
"Father, don't worry, I will definitely avenge you!" The young Wolf-Headed Beastman picked up his father's steel saber and charged directly at the Demon General Charlie with a hateful glare.
"No, don't go! Child, come back!" The wife of the Wolf-Headed Beastman screamed in despair as she saw her child rush forward.
The steel saber struck Charlie's body but did no damage at all. The scales on Charlie's body were different from other demons; while others had black scales, Charlie's were green, appearing as crystal clear as emeralds yet incredibly tough. This was the mad corpse divine scale Charlie had obtained through a brush with death.
Charlie looked coldly at the mother and son. Two vines from the sky-piercing ghost vine waterweed reached out, bound them, and lifted them into the air.
"Ah! You evil monster, what are you doing? Let us go!" the young beastman shouted in terror, struggling desperately to escape. However, the more he struggled, the tighter it bound him, and the mucus soon stuck his limbs together, leaving him unable to move.
"What are you going to do? Why don't you just kill us? How do you plan to torture us?" The wife looked at Charlie as he walked ahead, her voice cold and calm.
"Hahahaha, you'll find out in a moment!" Charlie turned back and gave the mother and son hanging in the air a wicked and eerie smile.
Charlie walked in front while the mother and son were suspended by the waterweed behind him. They traveled all the way to the Demon Canyon, where Charlie threw them into a pitch-black cave.
The two cried out in panic. In this pitch-black hole where one couldn't see their own hand, there wasn't even a sliver of sunlight. They could only grope around with their hands and feet until suddenly, an unknown monster grabbed them. The entire movement was silent; it wasn't until they were caught that they screamed in terror.
"What is this? Let us go!" Despite their frantic struggling, the monster grabbing them didn't use hands; it used its belly. Its belly could split into many layers, which tightly enveloped them until they were completely submerged and could no longer make a sound.
"Hahahaha, don't worry, you won't die. You'll just become like me—members of the Demon Race. Hahahaha! When the time comes, I'll release you back into the Magical Beast Empire and see if they'll still accept you!" Charlie shouted wildly and arrogantly at the Abyssal Demon inside the black hole.
Satisfied, Charlie flew back to Kongdi City. Inside the city, the demon soldiers were still wantonly slaughtering the citizens and looting treasures, while another portion of the people was being driven toward the Demon Canyon.
The Orc Soldiers who had fled from Kongdi City were retreating toward the Storm Beast Lair in a sorry state. They had discarded their armor and weapons along the way, looking like bedraggled stray dogs. The Storm Beast Lair was only dozens of miles from the Magical Beast Empire's capital, the Black Fortress, and housed the empire's most elite troops. As long as they reached it, they would find temporary safety and protection.
