68: Shocked Alice

On the ground, Wei He watched this scene with humiliation. Su Qinglei's eyes were filled with terror as large tears rolled down her face, dripping onto the ground and into Wei He's heart.

"Hahaha, what Forest Lord? Aren't you just a small-time punk? A punk who can't even protect a woman!" Gerard laughed crazily as his hands reached for Su Qinglei's waist.

"System, have the Chrono Legionnaires rush here and wipe them out!" Seeing this, Wei He realized the Chrono Legionnaires were the ones who could arrive the fastest.

Over a dozen people wearing silver-white protective suits appeared out of thin air around Wei He. They held strange weapons with trident-shaped muzzles.

Gerard's servants were so frightened by this scene that they let go. Wei He broke free just in time, ran in front of Su Qinglei, and punched Gerard.

"Ouch! You actually dare to hit me? I am the son of Emperor Alexander the Great! You're finished, I'm telling you, you're finished!" Gerard was an uneducated lecher whose body had long been hollowed out. Thus, Wei He knocked him to the ground with a single punch. He clutched his bruised eye and roared in anger.

"What are you all just standing there for? Why did you let him go? Seize him! You bunch of useless trash!" No matter how Gerard shouted, the dozen or so servants stood firmly in place.

Gerard suddenly felt something was wrong. Why weren't these dozen people obeying him? He turned his head in confusion, only to see over a dozen strangely dressed people. A blue Eraser Ray shot out from their strange weapons, connecting to his servants. The servants were enveloped in blue ripples, standing there motionless.

Gerard's attention had been entirely on Su Qinglei. He had seen many beautiful women, but such a perfect beauty was rare. Therefore, he hadn't noticed at all when the Chrono Legionnaires appeared. Seeing this strange scene now, he was instantly startled.

"Who are you? Where did you come from? I am a Prince of the Magic Empire! Put away your strange weapons and come pay your respects to me!" Gerard attempted to use his status to suppress these strange people, but he was overthinking it. These people were only loyal to the Commander, Wei He himself.

With a creak, the gates of the Grand Generals Mansion opened, drawing both Wei He's and Gerard's attention.

Alice appeared wearing a casual, red-and-white long dress with a thin belt around her waist. Under her skirt, she wore pure white trousers and leather shoes with emeralds embedded in the heels.

"What are you doing? Why are you fighting at my doorstep?" Alice asked curiously as she took in the scene.

Of course, she hadn't been disturbed by the sound of the fight. Rather, the spatial magic fluctuations produced when the Chrono Legionnaires appeared had instantly alerted her. Over a dozen Space Mages at the Saint Archmage level had appeared out of thin air at her doorstep. This shocked her and piqued her curiosity, so she hurried out to check.

As Alice was speaking, the dozen servants enveloped in the erasure light vanished instantly. Not a single trace of their existence remained, as if they had never been in this world and none of this had ever happened.

"Ah! Help! Oh my god! They're demons! The demons are here!" Gerard was so terrified by the scene that he ran and screamed. Because he was uneducated and possessed no magic, he couldn't perceive the spatial magic fluctuations of the Chrono Legionnaires.

In his mind, a dozen demons had appeared out of thin air and annihilated his servants. As he ran and screamed, something fell from him. Su Qinglei looked closely and covered her face with a shy giggle; Gerard had actually been so scared that he soiled his pants.

"Wei He, are these dozen people your friends? Did you call them here?" It was no secret that Wei He could summon Space Mages, so Alice asked him bluntly.

"All of you, return!" Wei He commanded the Chrono Legionnaires in a low, dejected voice.

"Understood, Commander!" After responding to Wei He, the Chrono Legionnaires vanished instantly.

"What? They called you Commander? You're actually their Commander?" Alice said in utter shock.

The man before her was just an ordinary person without a shred of magic, yet he could lead over a dozen mages at the Saint Archmage level. This sparked a glimmer of interest in Alice toward Wei He.

"Yes, I am their Commander," Wei He replied to Alice before turning to Su Qinglei and asking with concern, "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

"Oh, I'm fine, don't worry!" Su Qinglei said shyly. Her beautiful eyes were full of admiration as she looked at Wei He. She marveled in her heart that Wei He could lead such powerful figures at such a young age. She wasn't a fool; she knew that Saint Archmage was the highest level of mage. In the entire Magic Empire, only Emperor Alexander the Great, Grand Duke William, and Grand Duke James had reached that level.

"I'm relieved you're okay. I'll be setting out soon to fight the Demon Race. Be even more careful while I'm away," Wei He said softly.

"Mhm, I know. I'll be careful!" The corners of Su Qinglei's mouth curled up slightly. It felt good to have someone worrying about her.

"I don't want to interrupt you two, but I should mention that she'll be coming with me on the expedition. I'll take good care of her, so don't worry!" Alice teased from the side.

"I see. Then I'm relieved," Wei He said slowly.

Back at the Lords Mansion, Wei He sat blankly in his hall. He had originally intended to invite Su Qinglei to accompany him on the expedition against the Demon Race.

However, what had just happened gave him a clearer understanding of himself. Although he possessed the red alert system, he was essentially still a weakling. Without the red alert system, he could achieve nothing.

What right did he have to say he could protect her? She would probably be much safer by Alice's side.

"I must become stronger. Not only do I want to go back to Blue Star, but I also want to become a powerful person! Someone who can protect her and the people I want to protect!" Wei He swore silently in his heart.

In the palace of Laiseluo City, Gerard tearfully complained to Emperor Alexander the Great, embellishing the story of what had just happened, including the matter of the Chrono Legionnaires appearing out of thin air.

"Oh? You're saying those dozen or so people appeared directly in front of you out of thin air?" Emperor Alexander the Great said with a look of suspicion.

"Yes! My servants were all wiped out in an instant, directly vanishing on the spot. Imperial Father, you must seek justice for me! That Wei He even hit me!" Gerard wailed, clutching his bruised eye.

"Enough, stop crying. It's your own fault for idling around and being uneducated all day. I've heard you often go to the common people to forcibly seize women, is that true?" Emperor Alexander the Great questioned Gerard sternly.

"No, Imperial Father! Someone must be slandering me, Imperial Father!" Gerard said to Emperor Alexander the Great guiltily.

"Go back for now. In the future, do not provoke this man, Wei He. You must remember this. Go back!" Emperor Alexander the Great said thoughtfully.
