52: V3 Rocket
"Before I joined the Red Alert Troops, I also had a share of the profits from Buck's human trafficking and bribery!" Ravich continued to explain, "This is a complete industry chain. People in Blood Poison Town to the north are willing to pay high prices for human trafficking—ten times higher than anyone else. So, this kind of thing happens in every country, though it's usually done quite covertly."
"No wonder he was so cooperative after you arrived; he's still waiting for you to let him out!" Wei He was greatly shocked upon hearing this news. He had originally thought it was just Buck being insane, but this other world was simply too crazy.
"Reporting, Lord Junzhen, we have found his account books and stolen goods!" several soldiers said as they carried the boxes in.
Looking at the eight large boxes on the floor, aside from one filled with ledgers, the rest were all gold, silver, and jewelry.
"Leave the ledgers and move the rest back to the warehouse!" Wei He ordered the soldiers.
"Yes!" Several men moved the boxes back out.
"I think this place is quite nice. From now on, it will be my residence. Life on the island was too boring!" Wei He thought to himself; since coming here, he had been living at the base, and it was time to enjoy himself.
"Yes! Lord Commander, what should be done about this Buck?" Ravich asked Wei He respectfully.
"List his crimes and post them publicly. Round up his remnants and thugs, and take them to the Danga Archipelago to serve their sentences!" Wei He said calmly.
In the prison of Northwest Town, Buck's family came to visit him, weeping and wailing.
"What are you crying for? I'm telling you, I'll be fine. I'm very close with Lord Junzhen. He had a share in everything I did. I'll be out soon, and once I am, I'll show these commoners what for!" Buck said with a smug expression.
"What 'close'? He and that man named Wei He are at our house right now. Wei He even seized our home, and we've been kicked out. We're homeless now!" Buck's wife said, crying.
"Then... then what about the money?" Buck's eyes widened as he asked in disbelief.
"What money? All the money was left at home and confiscated by that Wei He!" Buck's wife continued.
"Alright, Buck, it's time for you to go. You too, all of you!" a jailer said lazily, pointing at Buck and his thugs.
"Is the trial starting?" Buck asked.
"You'll find out when you get there!" the jailer replied.
"Hahaha, Ravich, if you're going to be heartless, don't blame me for being unjust! No one understands the law better than I do, hahaha!" Buck laughed happily.
By the seaside of Northwest Town, Buck saw Vaster and others who had cooperated with him were also there. He asked the jailer, "Isn't this a trial? Why come here? Are you going to kill us to keep us quiet?"
"Stay put. Someone will be here to pick you up in a moment!" the jailer said and left.
Just as the jailer walked away, a group of men wearing red military overcoats and holding ppsh-41 submachine guns stepped out from behind the rocks and led them onto an armored personnel carrier.
Buck's residence had been changed to Wei He's residence, with a large Wei Residence plaque hanging high over the main gate. Su Qinglei was brought here by an American Soldier.
"Why did you run off to this place?" Su Qinglei thought about the strange buildings on the island; the architecture here was much more pleasing to the eye.
"Had your fun? You'll be staying here from now on. In the future, your Great General might have to go hungry!" Wei He did not answer her question.
"Impossible. Ever since I started following General Alice, she has never lost. You don't have to lie to me. Besides, you even had someone spy on me today!" Su Qinglei said, pouting her little mouth petulantly.
"Still, you were quite brave today. Those human traffickers really aren't human, not even sparing little children!" Su Qinglei said awkwardly.
"Fine. In a few more days, if you want to go back, I'll send you back," Wei He said, then walked into his room.
Outside the Ande Valley, large trucks, bigger than civilian houses, drove along the silent, deserted road. The trucks were carrying massive v3 rockets, silver-grey with red tips and red stabilizing fins at the tail.
Inside Ande Valley, Alice sat in her tent, drinking alone. These past few days, her troops had found it nearly impossible to move. The irregular attacks and comrades who would suddenly go mad and attack their own people—all of this put her under immense pressure.
What she didn't know was that something even more desperate was about to appear.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!" A series of massive sounds echoed outside Alice's tent. Sitting inside, Alice clearly felt the ground shake.
"What's going on? What are you people doing now?" Alice shouted, her face flushed and her breath smelling of alcohol.
"Reporting, Great General! Just now, for some reason, several large flaming iron lumps fell from the sky. They not only hit our Beast Carriages transporting provisions but also exploded! The soldiers transporting the grain were killed, and the food is all gone!" a soldier said, crying in terror.
"What? How is that possible?" Hearing this news, Alice's drunken stupor was instantly cut in half, and she strode out of the tent.
In the middle of the troop formation, where the Beast Carriages were pulling the grain, there was now a sea of fire. The mangled flesh scattered on the ground and the burning pieces of wood showed how violent the explosion had been.
Soldiers were all around, holding basins of water to put out the fire, but just as they approached the sea of flames, a second batch of v3 rockets fell from the sky. The high temperature and shockwaves from the explosions, carrying shrapnel, tore them to shreds. Bits of bone and flesh drifted everywhere with the shockwaves.
"O Blade of Light, transform into an invincible longsword and cleave through the dark space! — Light Sword Slash!" Seeing the v3 rockets with their flaming tails in the air, Alice chanted rapidly. A massive circular Magic Array appeared before her, and a purple holy sword made of divine light shot out from it.
The purple holy sword pierced toward a v3 rocket. As the sword pierced the rocket, it exploded directly in mid-air. Unfortunately, only one rocket was intercepted; the rest fell into the troops' camp.
After two rounds of strikes, the attacks stopped. Alice flew up into the air but found nothing.
In the tent, the generals sat dejectedly in their seats. Every one of them was a High-level Magician. If it were a matter of killing enemies on the battlefield, they wouldn't be afraid. But now, they couldn't even find out who the enemy was or where they were. Having a body full of magic power was useless.
"These things fell from the sky. Could it be that our coming here has angered the gods?" a white-bearded general was the first to speak.
"Impossible. I led an army through here two years ago, and nothing happened at all!" a young man with buckteeth said.
"I went up to look. I couldn't see who was throwing them at all. Moreover, I can't feel even a trace of magical aura on those things!" Alice said calmly.
"Yes, I didn't feel any magical aura either. This is very strange. I've heard that Wei He's subordinates in the Harsh Forest also have such a strange force. They don't have a trace of magical aura, yet the weapons in their hands are incredibly powerful! Could this be Wei He's doing?" a fat magician said.
"That's impossible. We've only just begun our march and haven't even reached the Harsh Forest. How could he possibly know?" Alice dismissed the idea.
"Besides, we've searched all the nearby valleys and found no trace of anyone. If it really were Wei He's doing, it would be too unbelievable," the bucktoothed general continued.
"Carlos, Jian, you two have fought against Wei He. What do you think?" Alice asked, looking at them.
