170: Chapter 170 A Bao

"Enough, no more talk. Can't you see? This is the only path left for us. Otherwise, we'll suffocate to death right here. Do you want to die, or do you want to live?" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Beastmen roared angrily, and everyone quickly fell silent.

After about half a minute, everyone nodded in agreement. Seeing this, the leader of the Leopard-Headed Guard turned to Wei He and said, "Lord Governor, we agree. We are willing to follow you to the Magic Empire to accept punishment. This is the punishment we deserve!"

"Good! Then let's begin!" Wei He nodded, reaching out to feel the wind blowing from above.

"Ah!..." Waves of agonized cries echoed from the underground tunnel. The Leopard-Headed Beastmen clenched their fists tightly, their faces contorted in pain. Streams of yellow energy continuously drifted out from their bodies. When the last wisp of yellow energy dissipated from the final Leopard-Headed Beastman, everyone's cultivation had been completely abolished.

Dragging their exhausted bodies, the Leopard-Headed Beastmen all looked towards Wei He. The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guard said weakly, "Lord Governor, is this acceptable now?"

"Mm. Old Huang, take them up." Wei He nodded in satisfaction, instructing Huang Yichen.

"As you command, Commander!" Huang Yichen replied respectfully with a nod. Immediately, the earth beneath their feet began to rise slowly, while the Earth Wall above rapidly parted to both sides. Soon, they reached the surface, and beneath their feet was the same street as before, even the paving stones were in exactly the same positions, as if they had never left, as if it had all been just a dream.

"Alright, follow him. But you stay here. I still have questions for you." Wei He instructed the others to follow Huang Yichen outside the city but kept the leader of the Leopard-Headed Guard behind.

"Lord Governor, what further instructions do you have?" The Leopard-Headed Guard leader watched the departing Leopard-Headed Beastmen with a touch of reluctance in his heart. However, he no longer dared to disobey Wei He's orders.

"You come back with me. I still have things to ask you." Wei He smiled slightly and walked towards Blant's mansion. The Leopard-Headed Guard leader hurriedly followed.

"Oh, right. What's your name? Since we'll be working together, we should have something to call you." As if suddenly remembering something, Wei He turned his head and asked the Leopard-Headed Guard leader.

"Lord Governor, just call me Ah Bao. It's my nickname, that's what they all call me! Hehe!" Ah Bao scratched his head sheepishly, grinning to show his large teeth.

"Ah Bao, a good name!" Wei He smiled and continued walking forward.

In Blant's mansion, Wei He sat in the main seat of the hall. Ah Bao stood there. Neme and Tang Xiaowei had finally regained their strength and could get out of bed and walk around. Blant and Linlin sat to the side.

Linlin glared at Ah Bao with an angry expression: "You despicable villain! How dare you poison us and still have the face to come here? Hmph!"

"Lady Linlin, I was wrong. Please forgive me. I'll never dare again. Punish me however you wish, I only beg you not to kill me!" Ah Bao thudded to his knees on the floor, kowtowing repeatedly as he pleaded for mercy.

"Enough, didn't he hand over the antidote? Let it go, spare him." Wei He, sitting in the main seat, spoke calmly.

"But he hurt Sister Neme and Sister Xiaowei so badly! We can't just let it go!" Linlin's cute little fists were clenched tightly, her face puffed up in anger, looking utterly adorable, causing both Blant and Wei He beside her to be momentarily captivated.

Wei He shook his head to clear his mind and then said, "If he is willing to help us, he can still be forgiven."

"Would he? How could a villain like this possibly help us? Don't dream! He'd betray us the moment he turns around!" Linlin said through gritted teeth, glaring at Ah Bao.

"I wouldn't! I would never betray Lord Governor! Please believe me just this once!" Ah Bao knelt on the ground, pleading desperately, though his eyes occasionally stole glances at Linlin.

Wei He keenly noticed this and frowned slightly. He said to Linlin, "Ah Bao won't betray us, you can rest assured."

"How can you be so sure?" Linlin asked Wei He suspiciously. As soon as her words fell, Ah Bao clutched his head in pain and collapsed to the ground.

"Ah, no, don't, ah, save me, I don't want..." Ah Bao wailed in agony. From outside, a kindly, large bald man walked in, approaching from afar until he reached the main hall. It was Yuri.

"He belongs to us," Yuri said slowly with a smile, looking at Wei He.

Ah Bao then stood up from the ground, his eyes vacant as he stared straight ahead, as if he had lost his soul.

"Now he won't betray us! Hahahaha!" Wei He laughed triumphantly.

"What happened to him? Why did he suddenly change like he's a different person?" Tang Xiaowei asked Wei He, puzzled.

"Uh, well... I'll explain that later. Let's attend to the main business first!" Wei He laughed awkwardly, changing the subject.

In the throne hall of the Magical Beast Empire's palace, Wei He, Blant, and the others stood together before Vesemir, telling him everything that had happened over the past few days.

"Hmph! As the leader of the guard, you actually did such a thing? Utterly disgraceful! Guards! Take him away, throw him in the dungeon, and interrogate him thoroughly!" After hearing Wei He's report, Vesemir shouted angrily.

A group of Orc Soldiers, upon hearing the command, immediately rushed in, seized Ah Bao, and began dragging him out of the hall.

"Sigh, Your Majesty, please wait. He was also acting under the orders of the First Prince Spike. Let's wait until the First Prince arrives before proceeding." Seeing this, Wei He quickly intervened.

Hearing this, Vesemir frowned and remained silent for a moment before continuing, "If Spike truly did this, I will certainly not let him off lightly!"

"That's good, Your Majesty. This act violates the alliance between our two nations. We can withdraw our troops at any time." Hearing Vesemir's words, Wei He said leisurely, because he knew Vesemir would not execute Spike.

"What about your subordinates? Where have they all gone? Are they all dead?" Vesemir glared angrily at Ah Bao and demanded.

"They have all left the Magical Beast Empire and will never return," Ah Bao replied expressionlessly.

"Hmph! You traitors! How dare you leave the Magical Beast Empire without permission? You have no regard for your lives! Guards! Issue wanted notices immediately! Capture them! Not a single one is to be spared!" Vesemir slammed his palm on the throne, the golden armrest snapping under the force.

"Yes, sir!" The Orc Soldiers hurriedly ran out of the hall. Only Wei He watched all this with a cold smile. He knew that group of Leopard-Headed Beastmen had already boarded a night hawk helicopter and left the Magical Beast Empire, flying towards the Danga Archipelago.

Just at that moment, Spike walked in from outside the hall. His gaze fixed tightly on Blant, his eyes filled with fury.

"Father, I have returned. I wonder what matter has made you so angry?" Spike thudded to his knees before Vesemir, immediately adopting a benevolent expression as he asked respectfully.

"Did you instruct Ah Bao to assassinate the Lord Governor and the Grand General of the Magic Empire?" Vesemir angrily questioned Spike.

"Father, your son is wronged! I did not! I have been busy handling important military affairs. How could I possibly go and assassinate them? This must be a frame-up! Father, your son is wronged!" Spike explained with an innocent expression.

"Then why does Ah Bao say he was acting under your orders? How do you explain that?" Vesemir continued his questioning.

"I heard that Ah Bao has always been very close to Sixth Brother. Perhaps he is trying to frame me. It's because last time, when Sixth Brother failed in his mission to collect heavenly materials and earthly treasures, I reprimanded him a few times. So he bears a grudge and wants revenge on me!" Spike pointed angrily at Blant and shouted loudly.
