51: Dual pistols!!! Wei He

"Enough, take them all back!" Bark said, his eyes filled with anger as he glared at the crowd.

"They are the bad guys, why are you arresting us? Arrest them!" Lote said, looking completely unconvinced.

"Move, move, move, everyone come back with me! Take them back too, let's go! We'll figure it out once we get back!" A scruffy old veteran said perfunctorily, pointing at the theater thugs.

"We aren't going. We haven't broken any laws. They stole our children, you are bullying us! You aren't in league with them, are you?" A woman in her thirties, holding a child, pointed at Bark and said.

"What did you say? I'm warning you, slander carries legal consequences! Take them all away. Anyone who doesn't go is resisting arrest. Those who resist arrest will be executed on the spot!" Bark said, jumping up as if his tail had been stepped on.

"Wait, even if they resist arrest, you don't have to kill them! You'll be legally responsible for this too!" Wei He walked out from the crowd, stopped by a group of soldiers, but still spoke to Bark.

"Hahahaha, I'll be legally responsible? I am the Judicial Magistrate. If I say you are guilty, you are guilty. What right do you have to speak to me like that, you bunch of bumpkins!" Bark laughed at Wei He's words, feeling nothing but contempt for these unruly commoners. It was just a few kidnapped children. If they took the children back, he would lose a lot of money—those bright, shining gold coins.

"The Judicial Magistrate that the people in the theater mentioned last time—that was you, wasn't it?" Now that the evidence was solid, yet Bark was intentionally favoring them, it confirmed Wei He's suspicions. Wei He boldly questioned Bark.

"So it was you! You killed seven people at the theater! Men, seize this murderer first! You've just confessed without being asked, walking right into a trap!" Bark instantly remembered the theater thugs—six with blown-off heads and one missing—which had forced him to redeploy and delayed his money-making time.

A group of soldiers rushed toward Wei He, while the surrounding villagers murmured among themselves.

"Oh my, why is this person like this? The children have already been found, yet instead of arresting the human traffickers, he's arresting the villagers!"

"What do you know! Didn't you hear? This is a murderer!"

"What murderer? Did you see it? Isn't this just that official framing him?"

...

Su Qinglei was also in the crowd. For some reason, she felt a trace of worry for Wei He. Beside her were Bozi Youning and the American Soldier, whom Wei He had arranged to be responsible for her safety.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Several gunshots rang out. The few of Bark's soldiers who had just approached Wei He fell to the ground, a horrifying bloody hole appearing in each of their heads.

Wei He held two Colt M1911s in his hands. He had borrowed them from Tanya for self-defense when he went out in the morning, not expecting they would actually come in handy.

Watching the white smoke rise from the muzzles, Bark shouted in terror: "Quick, quick, take him down! Execute him on the spot! Kill him, kill this murderer who is resisting arrest!"

Bark retreated as he shouted, hiding behind the group of soldiers.

Watching the soldiers rush up with cold weapons, Wei He alternated his dual pistols, knocking down all the soldiers in the front.

"Charge again, and you'll end up just like them!" Wei He shouted. The soldiers behind hesitated, looking back at Bark in confusion.

Bark was at a loss for what to do. He had long heard that a group of monsters wielding strange weapons had appeared in the Harsh Forest of the Southern Province. Those weapons made loud noises when they killed people. Could it be that he had encountered them today?

"He's just one person, don't be afraid! Make a push and take him down!" Bark was indeed a Judicial Magistrate; as he wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, he shouted with a trembling voice.

"Kill!" The soldiers, as if having taken a reassurance pill, charged toward Wei He.

Wei He turned and entered the theater through the back door. Only a few soldiers chased after him, while the rest were blocked outside by Andrew, Lote, and other villagers. A group of people grappled with the soldiers, falling over together. Some of the shorter ones tightly hugged a soldier's thigh, refusing to let go, preventing them from entering.

"Are you trying to rebel? Move aside, all of you! Otherwise, I'll have you all beheaded for treason!" Bark shouted anxiously. If he couldn't take him down and let him escape, and if more people with strange weapons came looking for him, he would be finished.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" At the same time Bark was shouting, several more gunshots rang out inside the theater. The crowd noticeably paused, startled by this strange and lethal weapon.

"Will he be alright?" Su Qinglei was also startled by the gunshots and asked the American Soldier beside her, who had already surrounded her to protect her.

"Rest assured, Miss Su, Commander will be fine!" The American Soldier said with a firm look in his eyes. He believed in Commander with absolute conviction. Furthermore, Commander had ordered him not to intervene and just to protect Miss Su, which indicated that Commander had absolute confidence.

Just as the American Soldier finished speaking, Wei He walked out from the crowd on the other side, holding a pistol against Bark's head.

It turned out those few soldiers were no match for Wei He, who was armed with a pistol. A few shots later, they were taken down. Wei He had slipped into the crowd from the front door of the theater and approached Bark.

"Ah! How are you here? Weren't you inside?" Bark watched Wei He and the pitch-black object in his hand, his body trembling.

"Don't move. If you don't want your donkey head to bloom, tell your soldiers to drop their weapons!" Wei He said, his tone calm but with a hint of triumph.

This was the first time since coming to this world that Wei He had personally executed a villain, and he felt a bit excited.

"Okay! Okay! Okay! I won't move! Everyone, drop your swords and guns! Drop them, hurry!" Bark's tears were streaming down in fear as he shouted with a trembling voice.

Seeing that the soldiers had dropped their weapons, the villagers released them and picked up the weapons.

"I am an official of the Magic Empire. If you kill me, the Empire won't spare you. You better think this through!" Facing Wei He, a terrifying demon, Bark feigned composure and said.

"The Magic Empire? I'm really not afraid. Tell them to come and find me!" Wei He curled his lips and said to Andrew: "Tie up these soldiers and those human traffickers, and send them all to jail in a while!"

"Alright, I understand, Brother Wei He!" Andrew said happily and went to find some rope.

"Just based on you? You want to send me to jail? I am the Judicial Magistrate of this town! What right do you have to lock me up?" Bark still said stubbornly.

"You should have been locked up a long time ago, you piece of trash. You still know you're the Judicial Magistrate? Shameless thing!" Ravich descended from the sky and cursed, pointing at Bark's nose.

A large number of Phoenix Mountain garrison troops emerged from the surrounding streets.

"Ah! Lord Military Formation Commander, it's me! I'm Bark!" Bark said, winking and grimacing.

"Seize them all and take them away!" Ravich commanded.

"Yes!" Many soldiers escorted Bark and his minions to the jail.

In Bark's mansion, Wei He and Ravich were sitting in the main hall chatting, while the soldiers outside were busy searching for evidence of Bark's crimes.

"I can't tell, but a small town official's home is so magnificent!" Wei He looked around the place filled with gold ornaments; even the tea set on the table was made of gold.

"Commander, we will be able to find evidence of his crimes soon. We will definitely be able to bring him to justice!" Ravich said, raising his eyebrows, feeling relaxed.

"You seem very familiar with him. He was winking and grimacing at you just now—what was that about?" Wei He felt strange and asked with confusion.
