44: Lin Zhian's doubts

"Lord Lord, he's definitely here. Last time, we were ambushed by them right here!" Xie Yanwen said, feigning anger.

While the White Armor Soldiers were searching, several armored personnel carriers carrying Bozi Youning arrived at the northern island and engaged in a firefight with them in the very center of the island.

Lin Zhian and Xie Yanwen quickly arrived at the center of the island.

"Lord Lord, I'll go wipe them out!" Xie Yanwen volunteered proactively, which deeply moved Lin Zhian.

"Mhm, go ahead, Yanwen. Of all these people, you are still the most loyal!" Lin Zhian said with a look of gratification.

After receiving permission, Xie Yanwen activated his Wood Element Ability. Vines wrapped around him and threw him directly toward the rear of the Bozi Youning. Just as he was about to hit the ground, a large net composed of seven or eight vines caught him.

Vines skewered Bozi Youning one by one like candied haws on a stick. Meanwhile, an Earth Element Ability User wove in and out of the Bozi Youning' positions, dragging individuals down and trapping them in the earth.

A Metal Element Ability User went even further, transforming his hands into blades and spinning into the fray as heads flew off around him.

A Fire Element Ability User threw fireballs at the Bozi Youning as if they cost nothing, and the flames slowly consumed them.

What was originally an encirclement formed by the Bozi Youning had now become a performance stage for these Ability Users.

(There were no Water Element Ability Users; they had been completely wiped out by the Giant Squid in the battles of previous chapters.)

Just as Lin Zhian thought they would definitely achieve a great victory and execute Wei He, the two warships he had brought began to move away from the northern island under Wei He's orders.

With the arrival of another armored personnel carrier on the northern island, the tide of the battlefield was about to turn. Meanwhile, Yuri and Du Yu, who had red lines over their heads, had already reached Demon Forging Valley and were temporarily safe.

Wei He brought Linlin and Huang Yichen to the Militia Training Center. Wei He sent Linlin inside, and when she came back out, she had already woken up. She was now at three stars, and her magic rank had upgraded from Beginner Magician to Intermediate Magician.

"I can't. This device can only upgrade you one rank." Wei He's eyes darted around, not knowing where to look.

"Then do you have any other devices that can do upgrades?" Linlin asked excitedly.

"No more. Linlin, I have things to take care of. Go play by yourself for a bit!" Wei He thought of the war still raging on the front lines. If they lost, it was very likely Lin Zhian would find this place.

On the northern island, an armored personnel carrier finally reached the battlefield. Two or three Radiation Engineers disembarked from it. The Bozi Youning on the front line were stalling the White Armor Soldiers to buy them time.

Just as the Bozi Youning were nearly wiped out, the three Radiation Engineers reached three different edge positions on the island. Seeing this, Wei He immediately ordered the Radiation Engineers to enter deployment mode.

The Radiation Engineers immediately sat on the ground and aimed their radiation cannons at the earth. Green energy flooded into the ground like a tide, and with them as the center, circles of green ripples rapidly spread outward.

At that moment, Lin Zhian sensed a terrifying energy sweeping across the land. He leaped high into the air, flying up.

Immediately after, a layer of radiation covered the entire northern island. Everyone on the island—whether it was the Entry Level Ability Users of the White Armor Army or the few remaining Bozi Youning—was reduced to pools of green pus.

"Is this the perception of a World-Shocking Level Ability User?" Wei He said in horror as he watched Lin Zhian on the screen.

Wei He said this because the radiation energy only began to release after the Radiation Engineers deployed. It took only an instant from the release to covering the entire island. Lin Zhian had not only sensed this energy but had also dodged the attack in an incredibly short amount of time.

"Even sacrificing so many Bozi Youning wasn't enough to kill him. System, withdraw the Radiation Engineers and order all Sea Scorpions to attack Lin Zhian!" At this point, Wei He was treating a dead horse as if it were alive. Based on his previous experience dealing with Carlos, anti-air units were still too weak against an expert of this level.

Lin Zhian watched as all the White Armor Soldiers on the island vanished and even the plants withered in an instant. He knew those people would never appear again. Such a powerful force meant that if he had been even a step slower, he would have been doomed.

"I don't know what kind of person possesses such powerful strength. I'm afraid even a God-Demon Level Ability User would find this ill-fated. I'd better leave quickly!" Lin Zhian had never seen Red Alert Troops. In his mind, someone with such power must be capable of flying and burrowing, omnipotent. One wonders how he would feel if he knew Radiation Engineers couldn't attack air targets.

He just wanted to return to his warships, but when he reached the shore, he found that his two warships had already moved far away from the coast, drifting into the distance.

Just as Lin Zhian was about to reach the warships, many iron-clad boats with large cannon barrels gathered beneath him. Before he could figure out what was happening, black shells exploded around him. The massive noise and shockwaves shook him so hard he nearly fell.

"Golden Body Protection!" Lin Zhian's entire body turned golden-yellow. With a roar, he flew toward the iron-clad boats below.

"I want to see what you're actually capable of. Vajra Collision!"

One Sea Scorpion after another was smashed to pieces by Lin Zhian's impact. If this continued, the battle would be over in less than half an hour.

"Order all naval units to attack Lin Zhian! I thought we could stall for a while, but Metal Element abilities are just too broken!" Wei He ordered anxiously, seeing how formidable his attack power was.

"As you command, Commander!" The system's voice was never hurried.

Destroyers, Aegis Cruisers, Dolphins, and Giant Squids quickly arrived at the combat zone.

The Aegis Cruisers were the first to attack, launching anti-air missiles toward Lin Zhian.

"These bombs are different from the ones before. It's like they have eyes, they keep chasing me!" Lin Zhian muttered to himself in confusion.

Lin Zhian dodged while shouting orders at the nearby warships: "Open fire immediately! Destroy those iron-clad ships!"

As it turned out, no one on the warships responded to him, nor did they attack the iron-clad ships. This left Lin Zhian somewhat stunned. Was everyone rebelling? What was happening? Why was this happening?
