164: Chapter 164 The Aesthetics of the Warcraft Empire

"Yes, First Prince, I'll go right away!" Just as Lance finished speaking, a clone stepped out from his body and ran toward the estate's gate.

"Oh, I was so angry I became muddled; I forgot you had this ability, Hahaha!" Spike placed the bone he had just taken from Lance back into Lance's hand.

Inside the royal palace hall, Vesemir sat upon a golden throne. Atop his head was a golden helmet with two golden antennae protruding from it, resembling those of an ant. Beneath the helmet was a white wolf's head with round green eyes that looked extremely fierce. Above his long snout was a round, black, moist nose that made one want to reach out and give it a squeeze.

"The Great General has traveled thousands of miles to come here and help our Magical Beast Empire resist foreign invasion. We are very grateful!" As Vesemir's long snout opened and closed, Wei He couldn't help but chuckle.

"Your Majesty, you flatter us. Our purpose in coming this time is to hope that you can lend us military supplies. After all, we are allies now and should advance and retreat together, don't you agree?" Neme shot a glare at Wei He, then turned to Vesemir and spoke with a serious expression.

"Hahaha, of course! We are allies now and should advance and retreat together; that is only right. However, the war is currently at a critical stage. Besides Kongdi City, other parts of the Magical Beast Empire have also been invaded by the Demon Race. With our forces split across many locations, we truly find our strength lacking. But rest assured, even if the royal palace has to tighten its belt, we will help you. How about this: I will give you five thousand stones of grain. What do you think?" As Vesemir spoke, his tongue would occasionally loll out, and Wei He, suppressing his laughter, turned red in the face.

"Uh, five thousand stones of grain? That's far too little! We have an army of hundreds of thousands fighting here; this amount of grain surely won't be enough, will it?" Neme frowned, speaking with a look of displeasure.

"Five thousand stones of grain is indeed not much, but in recent years, the Demon Race has run rampant, wars have been frequent, and the treasury is empty. The commoners can't even farm in peace; we truly cannot provide any more grain. I ask for the Great General's understanding!" Vesemir said, putting on a very aggrieved expression.

"This... this..." Neme was momentarily at a loss for words.

"The Demon army facing your Kongdi City is the largest. If there are no supplies, then we might as well withdraw our troops. When that time comes, you can resist the Demon Race all by yourself. Oh, right, if it's just you alone, five thousand stones of grain should be plenty, Hahaha!" Seeing Neme speechless, Wei He couldn't help but laugh.

"Who are you? Can you even make the decision to withdraw troops? Hmm?" Vesemir's green pupils widened as he looked at Wei He with a curious expression.

"He is a Lord of the Magic Empire, the only Lord personally bestowed the title by the old king, Alexander the Great! This is Lord Wei He!" Neme pointed at Wei He and quickly explained to Vesemir.

"Oh, so it's the Lord. My apologies. But even if you are a Lord, you cannot act this way. Matters involving an alliance between two nations are no laughing matter. If you withdraw the troops, that would be tearing up the treaty, and the consequences would be unthinkable!" Vesemir's brow furrowed, speaking like a well-meaning old man.

"You can write a letter to His Majesty Gerard right now and ask him if I have the authority to withdraw the troops. As for some treaty, I don't think you care about it anyway, do you?" Wei He, wearing boots made from Black-Headed Rhino hide, slowly paced across the golden floor of the hall, the tapping sound echoing through the vast space.

"Haha, isn't it just supplies? I see you've traveled a long way and must be tired. How about this: stay here first and get some good rest. As for the supplies, I will give you an answer after I've discussed it with my ministers. How does that sound?" Seeing Wei He's arrogant manner, Vesemir's heart was filled with complex emotions. He knew the Magic Empire had just changed monarchs, and what this new monarch's attitude toward the alliance was remained unknown. At this moment, he could only stabilize Wei He first; otherwise, if the Magic Empire really withdrew its troops, the Magical Beast Empire would be in dire straits.

"Sure, no problem. But this place is a bit too glittering and grand; I'm not quite used to it. Let's change to a different place, shall we?" Wei He said with a smile, waving his hand.

"Fine, no problem! You can stay wherever you like. After all, you are the honored guests of the Magical Beast Empire!" Vesemir said with a chuckle.

Wei He and the others rode colorful Four-Horned Beasts, slowly following behind the Leopard-Headed Guards toward the best restaurant in the capital.

"Brother Wei He, why don't we just go stay at Blant's estate? We came here to see him anyway, didn't we?" Linlin held her small head, asking with a puzzled expression.

"I'll tell you that later. Right now, we're traveling on public funds, and the Magical Beast Empire is footing the bill, understand?" Wei He looked at Linlin dotingly and spoke gently.

"Okay, I understand! Heehee!" Linlin nodded happily at Wei He's words.

As the group emerged from the palace gates on their Four-Horned Beasts, accompanied by the Leopard-Headed Guards, the streets were suddenly packed with all sorts of people. Everyone was curiously sizing up Wei He and his companions, and the sound of constant chatter filled the air.

"Who are they? The women are so beautiful! Tsk tsk, but the man's looks are a bit lacking!"

"What are you talking about? Anyone coming out of the palace protected by Leopard-Headed Guards must have an extraordinary status. Who are you to criticize them?"

"It seems they are honored guests from the Magic Empire. I heard they are even mages; how impressive! But though the women are quite beautiful, the man is very ordinary!"

...

Hearing their words, Wei He felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. "What do you mean 'a bit lacking'? What do you mean 'very ordinary'? They have no sense of aesthetics at all. I haven't even commented on how you're all covered in fur! Do you even know what a handsome man looks like? Hmph!"

Finally, led by the Leopard-Headed Guards, Wei He's group arrived in front of a restaurant called Changle Residence. The entire building could only be described as extravagant; even the main doors were coated in gold lacquer. The entire lobby was empty of customers, with only a row of beastmen who looked like staff standing on either side.

"Lord, Great General, this is Changle Residence. It has been cleared of other people. For the next few days, we must trouble you to stay here!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards stood to the side, hand on his saber, speaking respectfully to Wei He and Neme.

"Mhm, I understand. You may leave now." Neme nodded and waved her hand, signaling for the Leopard-Headed Guard to depart.

"We are here to protect our honored guests. During your stay at Changle Residence, we will not allow you to suffer even the slightest harm!" the Leopard-Headed Guard said in a booming voice.

"Fine, if you like following us so much, then follow!" Neme said crossly, being the first to step through the doors of Changle Residence.

Wei He followed her inside, only to be met by a row of female beastmen with hippo heads. The lightest among them probably weighed over three hundred pounds. They swarmed around him, striking poses and occasionally teasing Wei He's body.

"Ah! Don't do that! Go away, all of you get away! What are you doing? Get lost!" Feeling his buttocks being rubbed by a powerful palm, Wei He finally lost his patience and shouted.

"Lord, they are the best dancers here, specially presented to you!" Seeing Wei He's anger, the Leopard-Headed Guard hurried forward to explain respectfully.
