149: Chapter 149 Killing Jacob

Inside Laiseluo City, while everyone was fleeing outward, Chen Jiaojiao was still hiding in an inn, waiting and searching for the person she needed to find.

After Jacob led the Government Troops down the tower, he actually walked straight toward the outside of the city. Since the city walls had disappeared overnight, they didn't even bother to open the city gates and simply walked out from where the walls used to be.

“Hmph, I won't let you get away easily! Jacob, you're dead! Just wait!” After saying this, Chen Jiaojiao quietly followed the group of Government Troops toward the outskirts of the city.

Chen Jiaojiao followed them all the way to a forest outside the city, where she saw the group of Government Troops, led by Jacob, arrive in front of a young man.

This person was none other than Wei He. It turned out that after Wei He learned Jacob was the Commander of the Imperial Guard, he had him contact his old subordinates. “This group of traitors is truly shameless! Pui!” Chen Jiaojiao's voice rang out, and everyone turned around to look at her.

“Chen Jiaojiao, so it's you. Why are you here?” Jacob stepped forward and asked in confusion.

“Hmph, I'm naturally here to kill you, you traitors!” Chen Jiaojiao snorted coldly, her fists clenching until they cracked.

“Traitors? What nonsense are you talking about? Shouldn't you be in the dungeon right now? How could you appear here? Could it be that you escaped from prison?” Jacob's eyes widened, and he spoke with a face full of arrogance.

Everyone was charred black, with black smoke still rising from their bodies, and the air was filled with the smell of burning and roasted meat.

“I just recruited those people, and you killed them just like that? How can you be so cruel?” Wei He said, looking at Chen Jiaojiao in her blue dress, feeling somewhat angry.

“You! You!...” Being told this by Wei He, Chen Jiaojiao for a moment didn't know what to say.

“Besides, the person who slandered you—you've already killed him, haven't you? Wouldn't it be better to join me now to overthrow the rule of the Magic Empire and build a brand new world?” Wei He continued to persuade her with a smile.

“In your dreams! Although I killed the Jailer and escaped the prison, I will absolutely never betray the Magic Empire. You just want to usurp the throne; I won't help you!” After saying this, Chen Jiaojiao raised her hand and sent a bolt of lightning toward Wei He.

Wei He dodged it and simultaneously circulated all the Supernatural Ability energy in his body. Suddenly, his whole body glowed with golden light, and a golden Wei He stood before Chen Jiaojiao.

“You... you're actually a Metal-element ability user!” Chen Jiaojiao's eyes widened as she looked at Wei He in disbelief.

“Hmph, if I didn't have some skill, how would I dare come here! Chen Jiaojiao, I'll give you one last chance. Are you willing to join us or not!” Wei He said with a smug expression.

“I'm not willing! I want to see what skills you actually have!” Chen Jiaojiao finished speaking, retreated to activate her Magic Shield, and then several more bolts of lightning struck at Wei He.

Wei He raised his hands and swatted away the incoming lightning to both sides of the forest. The lightning hit the large trees, splitting them in half instantly. He stomped his foot hard on the ground to propel himself forward, rushing toward Chen Jiaojiao like a runaway horse.

Seeing this, Chen Jiaojiao quickly fired several more bolts of lightning, all of which were deflected by Wei He. After all, Wei He was already a Control Level Ability User, while Chen Jiaojiao was only a Beginner Magician. To Wei He, her attack power seemed as soft and powerless as a child's play.

Finally, Wei He reached Chen Jiaojiao. With just one punch, he shattered Chen Jiaojiao's Magic Shield and hit her. Chen Jiaojiao only felt a powerful force send her flying, and she crashed heavily onto the ground.

Chen Jiaojiao spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground. Usually doted on by her master and helped by her classmates, when had she ever encountered such a difficult opponent?
