10: Are you kidding me?
Upon hearing that Tian Ming had built a Graphene Shelter, Qin Biao’s face sank. He stubbed out the cigarette in his hand and tossed it into the ashtray.
“Let’s go, let’s take a look!”
Qin Biao led a group of people to the east side of the factory area. Looking at the building on the roof, a hint of anger flashed in his eyes.
“Boss, you see, I wasn’t lying to you, this guy has superpowers!”
“Superpowers my ass! If he really had superpowers, why would he need a gun to deal with us? Why wouldn’t he fight those zombies filling the city?”
Qin Biao wasn’t stupid; even if Tian Ming had superpowers, they weren’t invincible, otherwise he wouldn’t have escaped from the city.
His subordinates all remained silent, a hint of fear showing in their eyes.
“Come on, follow me upstairs. I want to see what trick he’s playing.”
A group of people arrived on the rooftop. This rooftop had been forcefully divided into two sections by Tian Ming. The remaining steel, Tian Ming also didn’t leave idle, directly turning it into an iron fence blocking the center of the building.
The bottom of this fence was tightly integrated with the building’s rebar, and the gaps between the steel bars were only about seven to eight centimeters. Tian Ming also used Graphene to reinforce the outer layer, isolating it from air to prevent rust.
There was only one door, and a huge iron lock was fastened to it. The stairwell was on the left, Tian Ming’s house was on the right, and in between was an extremely sturdy iron fence.
“Boss, they are really cunning; they’ve set this place up so tightly,” a subordinate said cautiously.
Qin Biao fumed, “Where the hell did he get that iron lock?”
“He made it appear, of course!” Tian Ming walked out of the room. Black, carbon fiber-woven square bricks appeared out of thin air. In front of this group of people, Tian Ming made no attempt to hide his superpower.
Qin Biao stepped forward and grabbed the iron fence. A powerful pulse of electricity shocked him to the point of doubting his own existence.
“Don’t move, I just connected the electricity and made a transformer. But don’t worry, it’s a small transformer, boosting to 6000 volts, but the current is very small, it won’t kill anyone. It’s like an electric fly swatter!”
Qin Biao’s face grew even darker. He glared fiercely at Tian Ming: “Kid, don’t get too arrogant. On my Qin Biao’s territory, it’s not your place to act wild. You’ve made this place like an iron tortoise and you think you’re something special? Before long, you’ll have no food or water. I don’t believe you can stay in this broken place forever.”
“Are you talking about water?”
Tian Ming pointed into the air, and a large number of tiny, visible particles appeared. In just two seconds, a bottle of water materialized out of thin air. It fell to the ground with a thud.
To the astonishment of those people, Tian Ming then spent another two seconds, and a large piece of bread appeared in his hand.
The subordinates under Qin Biao’s command stared wide-eyed, wishing they could immediately ditch their current boss and pledge allegiance to Tian Ming. As long as they followed Tian Ming, they could at least survive the Apocalypse.
Qin Biao naturally noticed the unusual behavior of his subordinates and reprimanded them, saying, “It’s just some tricks, don’t let him fool you.”
Tian Ming didn’t argue, and slowly said, “If you say it’s a trick, then it’s a trick!”
“If you’re really that powerful, why don’t you dare to come out?”
Qin Biao began to use provocation. If he could control Tian Ming, then his superpower would be able to bring him a large amount of supplies. In the post-Apocalypse wasteland, he would be able to rule as king.
But Tian Ming wouldn't fall for it. While building a house for his power source with carbon fiber bricks, he slowly said, “Go get me some copper. I have a reward: one kilogram of copper for a crossbow.”
As Tian Ming’s voice fell, Lin Yue emerged from inside, carrying a dozen crossbows.
These crossbows were entirely made of carbon fiber, making them extremely tough. As soon as he said this, the subordinates behind Qin Biao began to stir. With such weapons, although not comparable to guns, they could definitely dominate an area.
Qin Biao’s eyes immediately widened, and his tone became a bit more polite, though still with a hint of doubt: “The crossbows in your hand are probably just for show, aren’t they?”
Tian Ming smiled calmly and said, “Don’t say that. I really enjoy making things by hand. These were designed by me previously, with a magazine that can hold thirty 6mm crossbow bolts. The bolts are integrally formed, with a tail fin design, and an effective range of 100 meters.”
It was impossible not to be tempted. With weapons, they could form teams to enter the city and scavenge for supplies, allowing them to survive better.
Tian Ming’s superpower, capable of producing such weapons, even if only cold weapons, was enough for Qin Biao to set aside his boss’s pride. And Tian Ming also needed people to help him collect samples and raw materials. Only by accumulating enough samples could he create more things.
Both men had their own ulterior motives. Qin Biao chuckled and said, “My apologies, brother, my voice was a bit loud just now. We who live in the underworld are always like this. I still don’t know your esteemed name, brother!”
“Tian Ming!”
“Brother Tian Ming, there are a few abandoned, broken generators in the factory area, and some transformers, which could yield quite a bit of copper. Are you really willing to trade that crossbow for them?”
“Go bring them over, I’ll check the quality!”
Qin Biao gave a look, and Gouzi immediately understood, motioning to a few people, who went downstairs. In a short while, they pulled a huge, old transformer back with a cart.
Several people, with many hands, lifted the transformer up, panting from exhaustion.
“Brother, cut the power, open the door, and I’ll bring the stuff in for you.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? Just leave it outside.”
Tian Ming’s thought shifted, and the copper from the transformer’s copper wire was extracted, directly crossing the iron fence and appearing on this side of the fence. A perfectly square copper block formed.
“Hmm, three kilograms. Lin Yue, bring me three of the carbon fiber composite crossbows I made.”
Lin Yue assented and brought out three crossbows.
Tian Ming transformed the crossbows into a quantum state, and the crossbows passed directly through the iron fence, handed over by him. This miraculous scene left these ordinary people utterly astonished.
“Holy cow, that’s possible too?!”
Although he could easily transform the state of matter, Tian Ming had tried and found that he couldn’t transform living organisms.
Unless the living organism was smaller than a cell, slightly larger bacteria with autonomous movement would cause a conflict of consciousness, making manipulation impossible.
Qin Biao calmly took the crossbows, pulled out the magazines, but they were empty. This type of magazine was specially designed and could only use the steel crossbow bolts manufactured by Tian Ming.
The precision of material recombination was even higher than that produced by a lathe, so it was absolutely impossible to process 6mm crossbow bolts oneself.
“Why are there no crossbow bolts?!”
“Isn’t that normal? Crossbow bolts have to be bought separately.”
Qin Biao’s eyes held a hint of displeasure. This guy was messing with him, wasn’t he? Although displeased, he still held back.
“Go, go bring over the broken motors again!” Qin Biao said to Gouzi.
After another whole ordeal, ten kilograms of copper only yielded six crossbow bolts. Although the crossbow bolts were integrally formed, a section of the center was hollow, significantly reducing their lateral strength.
This hollow design made the crossbow bolts extremely prone to breaking after being fired. Therefore, recovering the crossbow bolts would become extremely difficult; once used, they could only be bought from Tian Ming. Tian Ming’s move was even more cunning than a profiteer’s.
Qin Biao looked at the crossbow bolt and immediately became furious. So, he had been treating him like an idiot all along, right? He raised the crossbow bolt in his hand, aimed it at Tian Ming’s head, and directly pulled the trigger.
Whoosh!
The crossbow bolt passed through Tian Ming’s head at an extremely high speed, struck the wall behind him, and with a clang, broke at the hollow part and fell to the ground.
