150: I think you're fooling me?
Tian Ming returned to his room and lay on the bed. The continuous string of events had been almost non-stop lately, and even though he possessed Ability Users, this high-intensity lifestyle had left Tian Ming feeling physically and mentally exhausted.
He closed his eyes and, without realizing it, fell asleep. An ethereal voice echoed in his ears; the woman appeared in Tian Ming's dream once again.
The woman calmly said, "What do you want with me?"
Tian Ming was a bit bewildered. He looked at the woman and asked, "I didn't look for you. What's wrong with you? Are you going to disturb me even when I'm sleeping? Last time you turned into a zombie to scare me, what are you going to turn into this time?"
The woman's expression changed slightly: "You know you're dreaming. Don't you humans easily confuse reality and dreams?"
"It's so obvious, how could I not tell the difference? Actually, I'm quite satisfied with my abilities right now. I have full elemental control; I can do everything other Ability Users can do. And I can do things they can't. The only regret is lacking the ability to control living matter."
"Are you looking for me to make up for your regret?"
Tian Ming shook his head: "No, you're just a consciousness, without even a real entity. Even if you have the ability to control living beings, you can only heal their injuries; you're definitely not as powerful as me. I just feel that your appearance is more like the Creator's personality split."
The woman's expression turned serious: "You saw God's memory?"
"I saw it. I think you might be lying to me. This isn't God's game at all, but rather God grew tired of existing in the long river of time. It is the rule of the universe itself. According to our current scientific understanding of the universe, if there is a Creator in this world, then it must be absolutely rational. But after intelligent beings appeared, it saw every fleeting life live wonderfully within a limited time. As the Creator, from the birth of the universe to its demise, it remained unchanged every moment. Eternal time, instead, became its curse."
"You're using human thinking to speculate about God. What do you think your accuracy rate is?" The woman asked slowly.
"I don't need to speculate. Actually, your appearance is just to make me anxious. I think if you could truly completely overwhelm me, you wouldn't come into my dream. If divine power is split in half, and you say you are the rational detachment, then according to rationality, you should eliminate me and unify the divine power. You haven't done so, which means the greater part of the divine power is with me, not in your consciousness."
The woman looked at Tian Ming for a long time and said faintly, "I can only say that your ability to imagine is very strong, but it's all wrong."
Tian Ming looked at the woman, a hint of mockery in his eyes: "Right or wrong needs to be proven by facts. Disappear, you little piece of trash."
The woman's body slowly faded. She said, somewhat unwillingly, "God chose you, why should I be your subordinate? Zombies are inherently stronger than humans. Given time to evolve, they are the future of this world..." The woman's words were not finished before Tian Ming expelled her from the dream.
Lying on the bed, Tian Ming slowly opened his eyes. This consciousness should be one of God's choices. But this consciousness was rebellious enough, using the leverage of being able to suppress Tian Ming's abilities to try and deceive him, to confuse him.
Although this woman had no physical form, her appearance did indeed limit his abilities. This fellow should be on the side of the zombies, no wonder that Corpse King kept talking about natural selection and survival of the fittest. The source should be with this woman.
Tian Ming smiled faintly. Controlling the elements that make up living organisms shouldn't be difficult. Since things like zombies can evolve, then he hasn't been completely limited by God. He should research and see if he can find a direction for evolution. The reason Tian Ming was so sure was because he could evolve the bodies of the zombies with whom he had established a psychic contract through elemental manipulation.
If it were truly as the woman said, then he should be completely unable to control living organisms. God closes a door for you, but leaves a window open. It was this window that made Tian Ming realize that the woman was just trying to fool him. Perhaps by fooling him and making him wary of her, she could control him.
He didn't know if his guess was correct, and Tian Ming didn't care if it was. Anyway, it was already the Apocalypse, what else was there to care about? Even if he was wrong, what could a consciousness do to him? So, could a living person still be scared by ghosts?
Tian Ming had not come out of his room, and Shen Yuan was a little worried. It had been almost a whole day. Would he be alright?
At this moment, in Tian Ming's room, Tian Ming was facing a petri dish containing some bacteria. All matter is composed of elements. Even living organisms are the same.
Since he couldn't directly control living organisms, he would start with microorganisms, from cell walls and cell membranes. He would slowly replicate various substances inside the cell, to replicate a complete cell, to see if he could imbue it with life.
For humans, creating life is an inherent talent. It only requires a man and a woman, but interspecies life. For Tian Ming, it was a very complex subject.
Although Tian Ming couldn't directly control living organisms, he discovered that through elemental manipulation, he could indirectly influence gene expression in living organisms. He first experimented with bacteria in a petri dish, replicating them into perfect cells. Then, he began to try to imbue these cells with life.
This process was extremely difficult, because interspecies gene communication itself posed enormous challenges. However, Tian Ming believed that as long as he kept trying, he would eventually succeed.
Tian Ming's experiments progressed slowly, but every small step forward made him ecstatic. He constantly adjusted the ratios of various elements, trying to find the most suitable environment for cell survival.
For three consecutive days, Tian Ming remained shut in his room. He could now fully replicate a bacterium. But this bacterium was dead; after replication, it was devoured by other bacteria in the culture medium. This disheartened him. What exactly went wrong?
After replicating another bacterium. He gently touched it with his hand, and in his consciousness, that bacterium suddenly moved.
"Holy crap. It worked?" Tian Ming was instantly overjoyed. When his hand touched the liquid in the petri dish, a tiny arc of static electricity from his clothes activated the bacterium. Although he didn't understand the principle behind it, he vaguely remembered hearing about something called bioelectricity in biology class.
The secret might lie within it. Tian Ming seemed to have realized something. At this moment, a knock came from outside, and Shen Yuan's voice came from beyond the door.
"Boss, what's wrong? You haven't come out for days."
