251: The gap is obvious
Li Feng and Qin Lu exchanged glances, both seeing the joy in each other's eyes. They had heard that Tian Ming was a controller of all elements, and learning that such an impressive individual was their instructor made them very curious about how powerful a controller of all elements truly was.
The three quickly arrived at the Ability User training ground. This was a spacious indoor training facility, which also contained a large physical combat center.
Li Feng began, "Instructor, in the Ability User hierarchy, our roles are very finely divided. Those suitable for combat become soldiers. Those not suitable for combat become producers. The purpose of the Super Legion is to select Ability Users with strong combat awareness to form a powerful fighting force."
Tian Ming nodded and said, "Besides elemental control, what other abilities do you possess?"
Li Feng and Qin Lu exchanged glances, and Li Feng spoke, "Instructor, my ability is strength, and Qin Lu's is reaction and speed."
Tian Ming said indifferently, "Since there's nothing else to do, I'll play with you two. Which of you wants to go first?"
Li Feng and Qin Lu immediately became excited upon hearing this. Being able to spar with the legendary all-element controller was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The two exchanged smiles, and Qin Lu, eager to try, said, "Instructor, I'll go first. Let me show you my speed and reaction."
Tian Ming smiled slightly and nodded. A piece of paper appeared in his hand, which he casually stuck on his shoulder.
"You have one minute. If you can get the piece of paper from my shoulder, you won't have to participate in the subsequent intensive training," Tian Ming said with a smile.
Qin Lu's eyes lit up, and she nodded, saying, "Instructor, just watch me."
Qin Lu's figure moved, instantly disappearing from her original spot and appearing at the other end of the training ground. Her speed was indeed extremely fast, like a flash of lightning.
Tian Ming, however, stood still, merely watching Qin Lu calmly. Time seemed to slow down at that moment; Qin Lu's running movements appeared like a snail's pace in Tian Ming's eyes.
However, in Qin Lu's eyes, Tian Ming made no movement at all. She chuckled inwardly, thinking this instructor was too overconfident; he wasn't reacting yet, and she could easily take the paper. Just as she was about to touch Tian Ming, his figure suddenly vanished.
Qin Lu was stunned and stopped. Tian Ming had already appeared ten meters away.
"So fast!"
Qin Lu was utterly shocked. She had clearly seen Tian Ming standing still, but when she approached, he suddenly disappeared. This speed was beyond her imagination.
Tian Ming smiled and said, "I only used ten percent of my strength. You're not good enough."
Facing Tian Ming's taunt, Qin Lu gritted her teeth and said, "Again!"
As soon as Tian Ming's words fell, Qin Lu's figure disappeared from her original spot again. This time her speed was even faster, like a ghost weaving through the training ground. Her eyes were fixed on Tian Ming, trying to find his weakness.
However, no matter how fast Qin Lu was, Tian Ming was always faster. Whenever Qin Lu approached Tian Ming, he would move away at a speed she couldn't comprehend, making it impossible for her to touch him.
Seconds ticked by, and a look of anxiety appeared on Qin Lu's face. She knew she had given her all, but she still couldn't touch Tian Ming, let alone get the piece of paper from his shoulder.
Just then, the minute was up. Qin Lu's figure appeared in front of Tian Ming, and she looked at him with unwillingness, panting as she said, "Instructor, I lost."
Tian Ming smiled faintly and said, "Your speed is very fast, but your prediction isn't enough. If you could predict where I'd appear next, you might get closer to me. But getting the paper from me is absolutely impossible."
Qin Lu listened to Tian Ming's words and asked curiously, "Instructor, what is your speed limit?"
"I have no limit. If I had to say a limit, it would probably be the speed of light. I shouldn't be able to exceed the speed of light."
Qin Lu was astonished and said, "You're so strong, how can you teach us? What we need are techniques and methods. Your techniques and methods are not on the same level as ours; if you teach them, we won't be able to learn them."
Tian Ming smiled faintly, "Who said I'm going to teach you? My mission is to strike you down. You figure out the methods and techniques yourselves. I'll just be a sparring partner. Do you understand what a sparring partner is? If you spar with a Corpse King, you're likely to lose your life. That's why the Alliance sent me to train you."
Li Feng was somewhat speechless. This instructor's strength was terrifying, but his ability to forcefully explain things was also terrifying.
"Instructor, it's my turn. Your speed is incredible, but I wonder about your strength. I'd like to experience it."
Tian Ming smiled nonchalantly and said, "Strength, that's something I'm really not very good at."
Li Feng frowned slightly and asked doubtfully, "Instructor, I heard you are a controller of all elements. Your strength should be quite good too, right?"
Tian Ming said indifferently, "My combat style mostly uses control methods; I won't foolishly go and compare strength with a Corpse King. You retreat twenty meters away, then walk towards me. If you can touch me, you pass."
Li Feng retreated twenty meters as instructed and said to Tian Ming, "Instructor, I'm ready."
"Then begin!" Tian Ming said calmly.
Li Feng moved, but as soon as he entered Tian Ming's control range, he couldn't move. The air felt very viscous, as if he had jumped into a swamp, and Li Feng's walking speed immediately slowed down.
A carbon fiber chair appeared behind Tian Ming, and he sat down directly, a mischievous smile on his face as he said, "Come on, I'll give you five minutes to walk to me."
The previously light air now pressed down on Li Feng's shoulders like a mountain. Forget walking, even standing required immense effort.
Li Feng gritted his teeth, and large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. He tried to mobilize his Ability, attempting to resist the pressure. However, it was useless.
Even though Tian Ming wasn't intentionally suppressing his Ability, he still found it impossible to move. He also noticed that the closer he got to Tian Ming, the heavier the pressure on him became.
Five minutes slowly passed, and Li Feng was still struggling to move his feet. His clothes were soaked with sweat, and the expression on his face grew increasingly grim.
Watching Li Feng's difficult progress, Tian Ming's mischievous smile grew wider. He said indifferently, "How is it? Is the pressure strong enough? Do you want me to add a little more?"
Facing Tian Ming, Li Feng truly understood what helplessness felt like.
Li Feng exerted all his strength and finally couldn't move anymore at a distance of 5 meters from Tian Ming. He collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath. The pressure on him was like a huge mountain, making it difficult for him to breathe.
The surrounding air began to return to normal. Li Feng and Qin Lu both hung their heads, silent. First-Class Ability Users are beings second only to Superpower Users, but in front of Tian Ming, they were nothing. This reality, laid bare before them, deeply struck them.
