90: Warehouse stolen

Back inside the Shelter, what exactly happened there last night? If Ability Users really did arrive, then how do these Ability Users compare to him in terms of strength?

Tian Ming was truly curious. These people had discovered the existence of the Shelter, but they chose not to reveal themselves. Generally, it would be best to come and go stealthily. Why would they leave such obvious clues, exposing their whereabouts?

Just as Tian Ming was feeling puzzled, Lin Yue’s voice came through the walkie-talkie.

“Boss, boss, this is bad! A lot of things were stolen from the warehouse.”

Tian Ming frowned. It seemed the answer to his puzzle was now apparent. These people had entered his warehouse last night and stolen things.

Their abilities might be far inferior to his, which was why they left such obvious traces.

Tian Ming picked up the walkie-talkie: “Isn’t the warehouse guarded 24 hours a day? How much was lost?”

Lin Yue’s voice was tearful: “At least a ton was lost. The warehouse doors are perfectly fine; there are no signs of damage. It’s as if these missing items were moved out of thin air.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll come take a look.”

When Tian Ming arrived at the warehouse, he discovered that a lot of things were indeed missing. Beside him, Mo Santong was so scared that cold sweat broke out.

Tian Ming had tasked him with guarding the warehouse and distributing supplies. Now that so much was missing from the storeroom, he knew he couldn’t escape responsibility.

A small portion of the warehouse was empty. The stolen items were mostly instant foods and frequently used daily necessities.

He carefully inspected the surroundings of the warehouse but found no signs of intrusion. This made him even more certain that these thieves were individuals with abilities.

Their abilities might only be something like phasing through walls to transport goods. If they could synthesize food like him, they wouldn’t have come to his Shelter to steal.

Mo Santong said tremblingly from the side, “Boss, I know I was negligent. I am willing to take responsibility…”

Mo Santong knew he couldn’t escape this responsibility. Everyone knew what kind of temper the boss had.

Tian Ming didn’t speak. This matter couldn’t be entirely blamed on Mo Santong; after all, he was just an ordinary person.

Seeing Tian Ming remain silent, Mo Santong became even more afraid. He could only silently pray, hoping that Tian Ming would forgive his oversight.

A moment later, Tian Ming waved his hand and said, “You should have kept records, right? Check the warehouse thoroughly and report the losses to me.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Santong felt a great weight lift off his shoulders and let out a long sigh of relief.

Mo Santong, who had narrowly escaped punishment, quickly pulled out a stack of papers and said, “Boss, I have compiled all the losses from the warehouse this time. It’s all here, look! I discovered it when I came in this morning, and I immediately conducted an inventory. Only after confirming the losses did I report it to Lin Yue.”

Tian Ming took the papers and examined them carefully.

The stack of papers detailed the warehouse’s losses. In addition to daily necessities and food, even things like oil and salt were stolen in considerable amounts.

After reading it, Tian Ming smiled calmly: “It’s fine, I’ll replenish these items. Mo Santong, you are quite meticulous in your work, and you didn’t conceal anything. That’s very good. You bear some responsibility for this matter, but those who came to steal are not ordinary people. Next time, be more vigilant. I don’t believe they wouldn’t make any sound at all when moving things. You must remember, this is not just a warehouse; this is everyone’s livelihood. Do you understand?”

Mo Santong nodded repeatedly: “Yes, yes, Boss’s lesson is well-taken.”

“Lin Yue.” Tian Ming looked back at Lin Yue.

Lin Yue quickly stepped forward, and Tian Ming continued, “Discuss with Grandpa Yuan about allocating him more meal tickets to speed up the construction of the remaining city walls.”

“Yes.” Lin Yue responded, but then immediately asked, “Boss, regarding the lost supplies…”

“You don’t need to take responsibility for this matter; you don’t need to worry about it. I will replenish the lost supplies. You go and get busy first.”

After Lin Yue left, Tian Ming replenished the lost supplies in the warehouse by himself. As his gaze swept over the item names,

the lost supplies appeared out of thin air in the warehouse. For Tian Ming, replenishing food was the simplest thing. In less than 10 minutes, all the lost supplies were back.

Elements like carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen were inexhaustible for Tian Ming. However, metallic elements were becoming increasingly scarce for him to utilize.

Although new elements could be synthesized through elemental fusion, Tian Ming rarely used this method. It was too slow and only employed in extremely rare circumstances.

Leaving the warehouse, Tian Ming went to the Shelter’s cafeteria, got a meal, and then headed to the Clinic.

Entering Shen Yuan’s ward, Shen Yuan was sitting on the head of the bed, holding a laptop. She was slightly frowning, looking at the screen.

“You went out?” Tian Ming’s tone carried a hint of questioning.

Shen Yuan looked up, a smile on her face: “Boss, you brought me food again, thank you, Boss.”

“Don’t joke around with me. Didn’t I say you shouldn’t catch a cold? Why did you run back to your room to get your laptop?” Tian Ming scolded.

“Boss, why are you suddenly so concerned about me?” Shen Yuan still asked with a grin.

“Don’t change the subject. If your cold isn’t completely better, you’ll stay obediently in the ward. If anything happens to you, what about my half-built airplane?” Tian Ming said, placing the bento box on the table beside the bed.

“Boss, I asked my brother to bring my computer over; I didn’t go out,” Shen Yuan said.

Tian Ming reached out and took Shen Yuan’s computer: “You are on leave now; you don’t need to work. My task for you is to rest well and recover quickly.”

Shen Yuan tilted her head and looked at Tian Ming: “Boss, that’s a bit unreasonable of you. I’m helping you find out who invaded the Shelter yesterday. Don’t you remember we still have a satellite up there?”

Tian Ming paused. He naturally hadn’t forgotten the Shelter’s satellite surveillance.

“There’s a patrol team at night. Even with infrared remote sensing images, these people aren’t ordinary individuals.”

Tian Ming didn’t believe the infrared remote sensing satellite could capture the traces of these people, as he was already certain that the thieves were Ability Users.

Shen Yuan waved at Tian Ming and said, “Give me my computer, and I’ll show you whether it was captured or not.”

Tian Ming handed the laptop to Shen Yuan. Shen Yuan opened the screen and began playing the satellite video recorded last night.

“Why is it so laggy?” Tian Ming frowned. The black and white image was one thing, but it was also choppy, like watching a PPT slideshow.

“Boss, you should be content. Our satellite’s power supply relies on solar energy. This is a continuous image at 5 seconds per frame, so it’s naturally choppy. I just checked; from 1 AM to 4 AM last night, do you see the red dots on the screen? There are a total of 4 red dots. They circled our Shelter and then entered the warehouse.”
